We had two of the items on the just released Fall menu and both the Godfather Bowl and the Maple Bacon sandwich were great. This must be a pleasant place to work because the wait staff is always cheerful and helpful. They don't rush you to get out, and their checkout options are great. Clean and open, not too noisy, and this location has plenty of parking. A little pricer that other chain-type breakfast spots, but I think the portion size, food quality and atmosphere justify it. read more

I usually love going to first watch as a good to go place for brunch, but this location was a little disappointing. This is my first time going to this location. I got the eggs Benedict like usual, but I was surprised to see the eggs fried instead of poached. Other locations have them poached like what's on the menu (see image). The waiter said that I had to say I wanted eggs poached or the default is fried. So, if you are ordering eggs, I would make sure to specify how you want the eggs even if the menu says poached. When we arrived we were greeted at the door by several (too many) people who were gathered at the hostess station (they should not all hang out there.) We were taken to a table but there were empty booths nearby so we asked to change. They graciously accommodated us. Our waiter was very pleasant, and offered water for the table. I enjoyed it! It was an overall solid brunch place for the weekend. Fortunately we didn't have too long of a wait when we went around 12 noon. They had all of the breakfast brunch options. There were a lot of options that were both savory and sweet and a lot of the classic choices like French toast, pancakes, skillets, bowls, drinks and coffee. I had the power quinoa bowl, and it was exactly what I wanted. It was something that was light and savory and healthy and tasty. My favorite thing about the quinoa bowl is that you feel full afterwards but it also has a tangy dressing and an egg yolk on top. But if you're in the more of the sweet mood, we also got the Floridian French toast. That was also a good balance of "healthy" with the fruit against the French toast. The interior had a modern finish and a lot of natural light coming from the glass windows. It has around up to 50 people worth of seating. They had the option of outdoor or indoor seating. We chose outdoor because the weather was nice. I will say it started raining while we were outside and we were pretty covered by the awning. This is my first time trying this establishment. I initially thought they were only Chia seeds, smoothies, and açaí bowls.. today I was surprised when I learned they serve lemon ricotta pancakes. I took the first thing smoking ordered the lemon, avocado, pancakes, bacon with eggs and a kale drink. Although it didn't knock my socks off, so make me work on my toes, but it was definitely really good and the size of the pancakes were beyond my expectation. The service was really good. The waitress was really nice and attentive and helped me make the right choices for my first time. She seemed to be well liked by some locals who visit the Restaurant quite a bit. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. The decor is pretty help It's great to accommodate early morning, breakfast for two or early afternoon, lunch or brunch. May family and I decide to try this place out near our home. Though we've been to First Watch in the past, for some reason the quality just seemed off from previous times we've dined there. Service was amazing and food came out in a timely manner. Location is nice and quiet, usually just the normal brunch type crowd. We ordered quite a few items and I cannot remember all of them, but my daughters were not pleased with the eggs and fruit mixture. Friends took me to First Watch on 1960. I had eggs (scrambled eggs), apple chicken sausage and French Toast. The eggs were good (I eat them "plain" with a little Chalula wherever I go). The eggs were prepared well and not dried out or over or undercooked in my opinion. I personally tend to overcook my eggs at home so it's a nice treat when I get someone to prepare them properly. The apple chicken sausage was well flavored and not greasy like the sausage I grew up with. It did indeed was savory. The French Toast was great. The order included Blueberries and they provided a nice twist when used with the WARM syrup on the French Toast. Finally, the service - my friend and I were nicely treated and immediately seated. The server, Ruben, was attentive and prompt, checking in several times to ensure the meal was too our liking, checking on our drinks and seeing if we wanted anything else. He has been working there for about a year and it was apparent he had been trained well - great service is not common in Houston, so his attention and attitude was a pleasant experience. read more

For the most part, I like First Watch. i stick to the same menu items which isn't my complaint. Sometimes service can be rude and unpleasant. I made an online order and rushed there because I knew they were closing. i get my order and asked for a side cup of ice, pointed to the regular cup I received my drink in and I was given a kiddie cup. i noticed silverwear was missing and asked for it to only then be scolded about checking off I wanted utensils in the bag. I don't need a lesson on how to read or place orders. I simply forgot and if I asked for it, I needed it to eat my food. I get home and they didnt include syrup although it was checked off AND gave me 2 orders of grits when I only selected 1. Amazes me that I can be scolded over including utensils but you can't include what I did order right. read more

Been coming to this location for years and its our go-to place for a yummy breakfast or brunch. Staff is always friendly and helpful with food allergies. The place itself has gone through some decor changes, and currently has a cool modern country Houston vibe. This location has indoor and outdoor seating but I wouldn't recommend it for groups with more than 8 people as this location is not the largest but does have more seats for smaller groups making it better for a date. read more

My friends and I came to First Watch to celebrate Galentine's on a Sunday around lunch, so the restaurant was busy. It was my first time coming, so I was anticipating what the hype was about. Food: Originally, I wanted the Traditional Breakfast because of the bacon side, but I opted for the Carne Asada hash because it was a seasonal item & it sounded more appetizing. - Bacon side (3/5) - I'm not sure how I feel about spending more than $5 on 4 pieces of bacon. Many brunch places don't prepare bacon the way I want them to (with a little bit of crunch), and First Watch was no exception. The texture was a bit chewy, and I was hoping First Watch would be different, but alas, I wasn't a fan of how they prepared their bacon and regret getting it on the side. - Carne Asada Hash (3.5/5) - I generally enjoyed this meal but have some qualms about it. As the name suggests, there were a lot of potatoes, but they were cut into big pieces; I could have preferred to be chopped into smaller bits, especially given the starchy nature of potatoes. Halfway through eating, I thought I was fuller than I actually was. The avocado and pico de gallo included in the dish were the stars of the meal, though! Additionally, you can request to have your eggs prepared in various ways (medium over, sunny side up, scrambled, etc.). Service (4/5): Our waitress was friendly and checked up frequently. However, my one gripe is that we were expecting a 7th friend to come later, and one of my friends, who was already present, asked our waitress if they could bring another chair. She returned to the kitchen to get our orders but never brought the chair, so the 7th friend, who was late, had to grab it herself. While this is not serious, I cannot give the service a 5/5 for this reason -- but I understand that things were hectic, and they might've forgotten. Also, I don't get why my order came last even though I was the 2nd one to get my order taken; a bit weird, truthfully. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd return to First Watch. Positives - We were seated quickly, and our server was fantastic. She was friendly, patient, and went out of her way to offer suggestions, since I was struggling to choose from the menu. A+ for service! I finally settled on the Trifecta: a waffle, million dollar bacon, and a side of cheese grits (subbed because I don't eat eggs). Negative - the food. First, the timing was off. One of my friends got her food a full 7 minutes before the rest of us. Awkward much? She didn't want to eat without us, and we didn't want her food to get cold. :/ When my food arrived, there was something red on my waffle (despite my clear request for it to be plain). I asked the server, and she assured me it was raspberry--not strawberry, which I'm severely allergic to. I pushed it aside onto a napkin, but honestly, I shouldn't have had to deal with that anxiety. As for the food itself, it didn't live up to the hype. * The waffle: Thin, full of air bubbles, and completely underwhelming. Definitely not the thick, fluffy kind I expected. * The cheese grits: It was basically a bowl of melted cheese with little grits mixed in. I sent it back for plain grits, which were much better. * The bacon: The biggest letdown. It was way too sweet, like it had been dipped in maple syrup and then peppered excessively. I'm picky about bacon and was hoping for something amazing, but this wasn't it. If you've ever had bacon from Snooze, you'll know what I was expecting, and this didn't come close. The restaurant itself also had 2 issues - The restroom was absolutely disgusting, which is always a red flag for me. Then there was the chaotic payment system. You pay at the front, which sounds fine in theory, but it's right by the entrance where people are waiting for tables. Add a line of people trying to pay, and it's pure chaos. We were all crammed together, bumping into each other. It was a mess. Overall, while the service was great, the food didn't impress, and the chaotic setup made for a frustrating experience. I won't be returning. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot, I'd recommend heading somewhere else. read more

I had ordered a breakfast sandwich that was missing a few items, and on top of that I arrived about 20 minutes late to pick up an order that was supposed to be comped at 12 o'clock. Gisele, the manager, handled everything with so much kindness and professionalism. She was extremely polite, took care of my order without hesitation, and even remade my food so I wouldn't be handed something cold -- which I really appreciated. Her customer service was genuinely top-tier and made the entire situation stress-free. Because of her, I will absolutely be returning to this First Wash location in person with my daughter. Fr starters walking in this morning I noticed everyone gathered at the back even though they saw me no one came up to address me. Finally someone casually walked up and asked(as if I was inconveniencing them) how many I said one and was seated. The guy who appeared to be the manager was more concerned with eating his own food than he was customers. I've been to this location several times and overall it's ok however this particular time I asked for my food to be made a certain way ( omelette no veggies hold the greens and the bread) and needless to say it wasn't right. This was my first experience at this location. Let me say the food and atmosphere are excellent. My server, however, was very inattentive. My husband has food allergies, so he asked for his turkey burger to be made dry. His burger was brought to him with all the menu toppings. We asked for the burger to be remade as ordered, and the server brought it back after obviously wiping off the toppings, as the remnants were still present. We asked for a manager, and it was obvious nobody was called to our table as our server started walking around us, not asking if we needed anything else, but he brought the ticket. I've had many experiences with servers, but this was my rudest time. I was ready to write this location off. Once we finally were able to get a manager to the table, she saved the day. I like going to First Watch to try their seasonal items, especially the Hispanic-inspired dishes. I went twice this weekend (I know, big back moment), so I tried two different dishes. - Carne Asada Hash (3.8/5): Their current seasonal item was the carne asada hash, which, as the name suggests, was very potato-heavy. It was hearty and tasty but I do wish there was maybe more sauce or something acidic to cut through all the potatoes. I felt like the flavor ended up being a bit bland and one-dimensional. The meat was also on the drier side but there was a good amount of protein. -Morning Market Veg Omelet (3.4/5): I also tried the morning market veg omelet. It was generously filled with veggies, and there were many different textures in the omelet. The sun-dried tomatoes added a nice sweet and tart flavor to the dish, but again I just felt like everything was on the blander side. The dish also came with a side, bread, and jam. My friend ordered for me so she picked the potatoes as my side, which I don't know if it's because I had them the day before too, but they just aren't my favorite potatoes. The potatoes have a soft texture with some crispy bits mixed in, and they're pretty chunky. I prefer crispier potatoes and wished these had more flavor. Definitely had to douse them in hot sauce and ketchup. The bread and jam were ok, nothing to write about. The service at First Watch was pretty good. The servers checked on us multiple times during our meal. I think the only iffy thing was that I had to find and pull my own chair to the table even after my friend had told the server there was one more person in our party. For value wise, I think the dishes I ordered were worth it because I was able to have leftovers from both meals. Just remember to check back with your guest periodically to see if they need something else! It was too watery, but I do enjoy how well this dish balances the savoriness from the barbacoa and cheese with the acidity from the tomato-based sauce. I wish they let the sauce covering this dish reduce for some more time. That way, there wouldn't be this excess water that pools up, which dilutes all the flavors present in this dish.
