I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Chicken Salad Chick. I placed two separate orders for the same pickup time--one catering order and one regular order--for a party I was hosting. I sent a friend to pick them up and specifically told her there would be two separate orders. She arrived right when the restaurant opened, was greeted at the door by an employee. She told the employee that she was there to pick up an order and the employee told her my name (so they were expecting the order to be picked up) my friend told the employee there were two orders. The employee handed her what she said were both orders, so my friend had no reason to believe anything was missing. After she returned to my house, we began preparing for a lunch party with about 20 guests. When it was time to serve, we realized one of the orders was missing. I called the restaurant and was told, "Yes, your order is still here." I asked if they could deliver it since the mistake happened during pickup, but they refused. When I asked how they planned to make the situation right and requested some type of compensation for the inconvenience, the manager became rude, raised her voice, and yelled at me. Keep in mind, this was a $136.00 order. What was especially frustrating was that the manager repeatedly insisted the problem was my friend's fault because she didn't specify that one of the orders was a "catering order". My question is: How is a customer supposed to know they need to say that? Nowhere during the ordering process was I told that catering orders are handled separately or that I needed to instruct my pickup person to ask for a catering order specifically. We did exactly what any reasonable customer would do--we gave my name, stated there were two orders, and trusted the employee when she handed over what she said were both orders. I called back hoping for a calmer conversation, but the manager was just as rude the second time. In the end, my son had to make a 40-minute round trip to pick up the missing order while I stayed behind trying to host my guests. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What I cannot understand is the complete lack of accountability and customer service. A sincere apology, an offer to help, or even acknowledging that the employee should have verified both orders were picked up would have gone a long way. Instead, I was blamed for something I had no way of knowing and treated disrespectfully. The missing order was frustrating, but the manager's attitude and unwillingness to take responsibility are the reasons I won't be returning to this location. read more

The thing about it is you get chicken salad in different ways like the Susie Special I think it is it has bacon and cheddar cheese in it or you can get it pimento cheese with jalapeños it's different ways you get your different sandwiches that you like different styles of bread to offer and have some great sugar cookies that they sell as well, but I hope you enjoy it. read more

Driven by this place so many times and decided to finally stop in for lunch. As first-time visitors, we were a little confused about the menu, but the lady behind the counter was supper friendly and helped us with questions and made some great suggestions. I ordered Olivia's old South with a side of pasta salad. The chicken salad had great flavor, I was actually pretty impressed. Now, I did have to add some mustard to my sandwich because it was a little mayo heavy, but it was delicious. This review is about the location on Louetta Rd. Houston. This place used to be great a few/couple years ago. It's gone downhill and is crap now. Almost seems like different management. Every single time we've been in probably the last 10 times, they have either left items off the order (take home), the salad is slopped on the bread and is a complete mess, got home with about 1 spoon full of broccoli salad, and one time there was a very small spoonful of chicken salad on half a croissant. VERY sloppy kitchen help. Tonight, we got home and there were ZERO crackers in the bag. We had ordered sides of chicken salad and had to go to Kroger to get crackers. Oh, you can choose white, wheat, or croissant for the sandwich. I wish my kicking Kay lyn was spicier like the description said. It was more of that tangy type spice. So it didn't really have heat.
