    Menu 6/29

I've been wanting to try this upscale cafe in a local strip mall for sometime. We stopped for early Sunday breakfast. The staff is friendly and we were seated immediately. The dining room has a country farmhouse vibe with a mix of tables and booths. The menu offers a mix of heathy and trendy breakfast and lunch options. I opted for the Power Wrap. I'm not usually a turkey lover, but the blend of egg whites, turkey, spinach and mushrooms was delicious. The fruit side was perfectly ripe and fresh. I loved my breakfast. A special summer menu offers fun brunch cocktails and summer-themed food options. My husband ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cornbread off of the Summer menu. He devoured the big round of cornbread and said it was the perfect breakfast. Weird, I know. Marri-Anna, our server, was super friendly, accommodating and efficient. Since we were first timers, she offered us samples of two of their freshly made, fruit juices. I tried the Morning Meditation which was a blend of orange, beet, lemon, ginger and agave nectar. The juice was earthy, colorful and delicious. My husband tried the Purple Haze which was a blend of lemon, sugar, pea flower tea and lavender. He loved the juice. I'd come back just for the juices. There is plenty of parking and a really nice patio with covered tables and seating where dogs are welcome. Five star service and great food makes First Watch a winner in my book.

Good food, service and pay via QR code on the receipt. I had the french toast and ice coffee. First Watch is a good brunch spot!

This was my first time trying First Watch. I tried looking up a meal before arrival via the website but I couldn't decide on anything. Upon arrival it to my surprise, their menu is much bigger in person. With so many choices to choose from, I settled on the half waffles with a side fruit as well with some bacon and eggs. I would highly recommend.

Things I found a bit chaotic, the waitlist process and the parking lot. The food was a little under seasoned or not seasoned at all... nothing some cracked pepper & chaloula couldn't help. However, I can tell they use quality eggs & potatoes for the dish I chose. Our server Aliza was nice & checked on us frequently. I'm going to come back but on a week day next time.

I remember around 8 years ago that the menu wasn't that impressive so never went back. Gave them a try again couple years ago due to hearing that their menu has changed. And it's been a good breakfast diner for us. I have always had the Traditional breakfast but adding extra egg and sausage, it was very filling. Bacon was also very crispy. The pesto bowl also was great in taste. Service has been also good, even on a busy day. They have outdoor seating on warm weather. Have been a repeat customer here. Forgot to mention, they also now have online payment for convenience.

Service isn't as engaging but they food is always fresh! I will say potato quantity depends on who's in the kitchen. Thus was the first time I was ever served a portion like this but the server did bring me another order.

Very loud atmosphere on the day I was there. Friendly servers. Food quality was less than I had expected. I loved my seasonal drink however. Okay spot if you need something to eat or drink and aren't in a hurry.

Busy but good breakfast spot. We went there for Sunday brunch and unsurprisingly there were many people waiting. We gave them our name and were told it will be about 30 minutes. And we got a text saying our table is ready, it was a bit over 30 minutes. We were escorted to this 2-top table right in front of the kitchen entrance with bright white light and busy foot traffic. I thought that was an awkward to spot to put a table in. Luckily, there were other tables available and we were seated there instead after asking the hostess nicely. It was very busy and the service was a bit slow. Our server did the minimum, and was not friendly. She took our orders, brought us our dishes, asked us if everything is ok, and never came back until we had to wait for a while and find her to request a check. My omelette was so delicious! It had Italian sausages and veggies, cheese. Their menu is so extensive and it was not easy to choose. Their seasonal menu items also looked good.

It's admittedly been awhile since my last First Watch visit. We ended up choosing this spot for our recent breakfast date for two key reasons- 1.) plenty of heathy options on the menu and 2.) it's located a few doors down for. Trader Joe's (can it get any better than that?) Another great reason we discovered along the way is that they offer "join the waitlist" before you arrive. I first encountered First Watch years ago when hosting a Yep event. I'm so glad to add it back into our rotation with this 86th street location. It's hard to beat the healthy kale juice, power wrap featuring turkey, spinach, egg whites and mozzarella and a guilty-pleasure lemon ricotta pancake for a shared appetizer. The staff was very friendly and on top of things. I also appreciated all of their little touches to show of where ingredients and materials for the restaurant are sourced. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Visited First Watch on 86th St. Very cute breakfast place. Service was great from all staff. One server even helped my Mom put on her coat. I had the granola, fruit and yogurt which came with a large muffin. My Mom had the biscuits and gravy with potatoes. It was huge. I like that they give you coffee carafes and don't have to wait for refills. We went during the week which was perfect. I'll assume weekends are packed. We will be going back!

It's been a while but the food is always consistently good. Pretty hard to miss up a good thing. Service was quick and too for our large table.

I stopped here the other day for breakfast. They have a great selection. I ordered the smoked salmon and vegetable omelet. It came with a choice of breakfast fries or salad. I chose the salad. It also had a small piece of toast that accompanied it. The omelette was open face so really more a frittatta. It was filled with salmon and was tasty but I would have liked more vegetables and maybe a little dill. The salad of lettuce was okay- nothing to write about. The bread was a little too crunchy. Coffee was excellent as was service.

My breakfast was scrumptious!!! The food was hot, fresh, and right on time! We didn't have to wait long to eat, and the service was quick. On a Sunday mid morning place was packed but service was holding their own! They were getting tables turned over quickly and customers fed!! My family ate very happily with no issues! I enjoyed the farmhouse skillet with avocado, eggs, potatoes, and bacon topped with cheese. I had some delicious thick toast buttered and a side of jam! One of my favorite items was the million dollar bacon! Must have!

Same great staff, same cool space, same open kitchen where a party of one like me can grab a counter seat and watch the chefs do their thing. I've honestly always enjoyed that part of the experience. Today I had the avocado toast with feta and an egg on top, and it totally hit the spot. Earlier this week I tried one of the newer menu items -- fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a sample of jalapeño cornbread and Asian slaw. Incredible comfort food. And as someone who normally isn't much of a slaw person, I was surprised by how much I loved it. They also tried to tempt me with the roast beef special, which honestly looked great, but at 10:30 in the morning I just couldn't fully commit to roast beef yet. Maybe next time. The new name is a nice tribute to the owner's mother, Arleen, but thankfully it still feels like the Milktooth so many of us have come to enjoy over the years. I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery. I liked the complimentary coffee bar while waiting for a table. Since I came with a couple of friends and didn't have reservations, we ended up waiting somewhere between 30 minutes to an hour before being seated. One of the biggest drawbacks was the restroom situation. There are only two gender neutral restrooms, and the wait was incredibly long. I waited close to 30 minutes just to use the restroom. It seemed like only one restroom may have been operational because I only noticed people coming out of one. For a business this large and as busy as it gets, I don't feel that's enough restroom accommodation. The first available table was outside, so we decided to take it. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience. There was nearby construction, making it very loud and difficult to carry on conversations amongst our table. It was also a windy and chilly day, and I definitely underestimated the weather. I should have brought a coat! We weren't in the sun so it was too chilly. The strong wind constantly blew napkins and other items around the table, which became frustrating. During cooler days, outdoor heaters would make the patio much more comfortable. Even though I was uncomfortable, our server was friendly and attentive to us. I ordered the Morning Edition breakfast, and it was excellent. I liked the variety of items included, everything tasted good, and the portion size was just right for me. I finished every bite and left satisfied. I really enjoyed the potatoes and cinnamon toast. The seating? Intimate. The lighting? Soft. The whole space feels like a quiet luxury moment tucked right into the city. Now let's talk about what REALLY matters, the food. The shrimp & grits??? Listen... this wasn't just a dish, this was an EXPERIENCE. The grits were creamy, smooth, and perfectly rich, but that sauce layered on top?? Whew. Flavor on flavor on flavor. You've got that deep, savory, slightly smoky profile with juicy shrimp, sausage, and those pickled onions cutting through everything with the perfect tang. Every bite felt intentional. Like somebody knew what they were doing in that kitchen. And can we talk about how beautiful it was plated?? Because yes, I absolutely appreciated the aesthetics before I even picked up my fork. Paired it with a simple coffee moment, sitting by the window, and honestly... it felt like a reset. Not rushed, not loud, just good food, good atmosphere, and a chance to actually enjoy it. If you're looking for a brunch spot that feels a little more elevated, a little more intentional, and delivers on both flavor and experience. This is it. 10/10. I'll absolutely be back!!!

Themed around Indy native Kurt Vonnegut, you'll see old typewriters, books, and names of menu items paying tribute to the famous author. The menu feels high class but the atmosphere and wait staff are friendly and welcoming. You could dress up for a special occasion or come in casual every day wear and either fit in just fine. Their ever changing menu featuring local produce and meats is always unique, inventive, and most importantly, delicious. Their cocktail list is one of the best and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had an extensive mocktail list as well. Their sodas and syrups are all house-made which means every drink is full of fresh flavors. I had a lemon pasta dish an my husband ordered the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and composed of flavors and textures that complimented each other perfectly. There's nothing that wouldn't be good on their menu because you can tell the chefs are exceptional as well as the ingredients they choose. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it remains one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal and no matter what I choose, I'm never disappointed.

Reviewed the menu seemed to be eclectic enough, off we go. The place had a decent size outdoor dinning area. Few of the tables were occupied. Table for one...indoor, outdoor was the question? Indoor. Although the weather was beautiful, indoors was my choice. Al fresco dining is not my first choice. I don't like to do battle over my meal with insects and other wild life. I deducted 1 star for red wine served at room temperature. How is it that, red wines are chilled (55F) on the west coast but served at 'room temperature' (72F, 82F...) on the east coast. Had two dishes, they were OK, service was ok Would I go back? Yes, if the red wine was chilled.

The space is big and fun, with a large dining room, an old-school video arcade game, interesting art, and a big screen playing movies, which adds to the laid-back, quirky vibe. It's counter service with clear menu boards on the wall, making ordering easy. I had the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon and an egg and... my goodness. So incredibly delicious. One friend ordered the same grits but swapped in fried catfish instead of bacon--also a fantastic choice. Our third went with a classic plate with eggs and bacon, and let me tell you, the bacon is thick and plentiful. We ordered a side of fries for the table and there were more than enough to share. Self-serve coffee with all the fixings is a nice touch, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Fun atmosphere, great food, solid portions--definitely will be back.

My husband and I had never been here before and the lady at the counter was less than friendly. She did tell us the menu was on the other wall. My husband got a Diet Coke that came in a can and we both got a classic plate minus the toast. 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties... nothing special including the presentation. The price for each plate was $18 plus a $2 can of coke and a tip they didn't deserve brought our total to a little over $40. The eggs were flavorless and literally had no seasoning. I did appreciate that the sausage patties weren't greasy. That was about the only good thing. The decor looked like they took whatever thrift stores couldn't sell with no particular theme. Funny enough, we went out for breakfast a few days later to a DIFFERENT PLACE and for the SAME PRICE got way more food, better quality food, better presentation, full table service, friendly service, great atmosphere, and an overall wonderful experience. Overall, I would not recommend this place. We left feeling like we got ripped off and I could have made the same thing better at home.
