I REALLY wish this place had edible food. I live right around the corner and it would be so convenient. I have tried it a handful of times over the last few years and never once has it been good. I tried it for the last time today. It took over 20 minutes for a cup of soup to arrive, and when it did it was barely warm. The burger that we ordered was the worst burger I have ever had. That seems dramatic, but it truly was. After one bite that was spit out, we cashed out and left. The only good thing about our experience was our server Kayson. It has been nine years since my last update for Lincoln Square. This is my neighborhood Lincoln Square as I live about a mile away, though lately I seem to more frequently visit the Shadeland Avenue spot. On occasion, I also hit Irvington. There's a communal, family sensibility at Lincoln Square. As I noted in my previous review, I've long found this location a little more hit-and-miss with accessibility that's a little more challenging. However, I adore the manager here (I believe she's a manager). Today, Easter Sunday, I was in the mood for a "family" experience. My father (and only surviving relative) recently entered hospice and I'm kind of at that point where I surround myself with warm places even where I eat. I contemplated a couple of different places, however, I decided today would be the day I revisited Lincoln Square. Business was steady but not overwhelming. As I arrived, I decided to park at the end of the building where I knew I had a spot where my wheelchair wouldn't have issues. There are ramps on both ends of the building and one in the middle. There are a couple accessible parking spots, though they're not well done (that's on the landlord, not Lincoln Square). You enter through a double doorway. There's a hosting area right away. I noticed right away that there'd been some decorative improvements. the ambiance was significantly improved with a warmth I really liked. It was dimmer, yet not obnoxiously so. The walls were a different color. I got seated at a table big enough for me to have a little room for the wheelchair (I did struggle a bit when leaving as a party next to me didn't leave a lot of space for my wheelchair). The hosts/hostesses were friendly as always. My server, Annie, greeted me in a timely manner and took my drink order. My food order followed - french toast (they have bread from Scholars Inn Bakehouse) and a side of hash browns. While they do serve glasses of water, I went for my usual unsweetened iced tea. The food was well portioned and quite good. The french toast was delicious and I actually had to leave a little because it was so plentiful. I was surprised by the generosity of the hash browns, as well. While the meal was a bit high (right about $20), it was a good meal with generous portions. (NOTE: I was offered a platter, but I'm not an egg fan). Annie was pleasant throughout. She was attentive without being invasive. I really needed to linger today. I honestly needed a warm environment. She didn't flinch as I casually drank my tea and just soaked up the families having Easter lunch/brunch. It was quite pleasantly. That manager I mentioned? She's still there. It's been a while since I was here and she still remembered me. What a pleasant greeting. She had no idea that in the maybe five years since my last visit I've lost my brother, my mother, my best friend, and a limb. She has no idea that I beat cancer twice in the past year and am close to losing my father. She probably had no idea how much I needed "warm" today, but that seems to be her permanent state of being and it made a big difference today. The food was great. The price was a bit high but fair. The employees were exceptional. The atmosphere is improved and warm and welcoming. It's time. I'm forking over the 5th star. Lincoln Square has earned it. read more

lincoln square never misses when it comes to the food or customer service . it's the average breakfast spot . clean and cozy , but nothing too spectacular . i came alone and was quickly seated . i sat at the counter top so i wouldn't take up a whole table . they weren't too crowded for an early saturday afternoon . my waitress was very attentive and friendly . i had the pancake platter and a mimosa . i will say the mimosas are larger than average and expected , but really good none the less . i do wish this location had better parking . for the amount of ppl they're able to seat on the inside , you'd think they'd have more parking . read more

My husband and I have frequented this Lincoln Square. Today our waitress handed us something and asked us to put it in the table. It stated that you have a time limit on your dining experience. We got our food quickly but not even 5 minutes after receiving our food the waitress brought us our check. I used to enjoy the service as the waiters and waitresses (other than one older white woman) were attentive and very kind. This was half way between my aunt and I so we figured we would try it out on a Saturday morning for brunch. I've heard about Lincoln Square for years but had never tried it. I've been missing out! Arrived at 11am and while it was busy we were able to be seated right away in a booth. They had cinnamon roll pancakes as a special and I knew I needed to get that right away! PSA!!!!!! Be aware that this place "reuses" food from plates! We ordered the little Lincoln for our five-year-old granddaughter. It should've had scrambled eggs, one piece of bacon one sausage and toast with hashbrowns server brought out two pieces of bacon no toast. We said that she needed her sausage. They said well we will have to take back one of her pieces of bacon and proceeded to bring out a plate and use a knife to drag the one piece of bacon off of her plate. mind you our five-year-old granddaughter had already touched the food on her plate. When my daughter-in-law asked, aren't you just going to throw that away the server replied with a shrug and shook their head no hello I believe that's against health codes in the end, they still tried to overcharge us did not bring out of our food. Our family is from Washington, DC and we came to visit our mother who is 91 years old and now lives in Indianapolis with our baby sister who has lived in Indianapolis for the past 8+ years or so. It was suggested that we have brunch here with our mom. To tell you that the food was awesome is an understatement. Not only was the food delicious but the service was top notched as well, Want to give a special shout out to our server, Jean, as well as the manager Doris, two outstanding ladies who ensured our dining was exceptional. Lincoln square is an Indy staple, and provides arguably the best bang for your buck for any brunch place. The Alex Skillet is a go to of mine, which has a southwestern spin on a breakfast skillet. The flavors are robust and numerous. I also tried the biscuits and gravy, but was a little underwhelmed. The gravy was a thinner consistency than I'm used to, and lacked robust flavor (maybe a lack of seasoning or sausage). All in all, Lincoln Square always fulfills my brunch craving. read more

We decided to try this local breakfast spot out today around 56th and Binford. We got there around 9AM and the parking was full, luckily there is a dollar tree next door with additional parking. There was no wait getting seated which was great and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. They have a very diverse menu from more traditional breakfast items such as skillets, B&GS, pancakes, and a variety of benedict's, to breakfast nachos! We both got specialty french toasts: Banana bread french toast and Cinnamon roll french toast. Both were so delicious! The only reason i can't give this place 5 stars is because the sides were quite expensive and small. A side of sausage gravy for $4 is just too much in my opinion. The hosts skipped our number (I'm sure by accident, they were very busy). After seeing numbers after us get called and seated we asked about our table, and not with anger. One of the hosts literally yelled at us and told us she called our number when she had not. She was dressed as a Native American (which is a whole other issue). Our son was craving pancakes when we were in town for a soccer tournament recently, and that's how we found the Lincoln Square Pancake House. The menu is loaded with so many yummy options, it was really tough to decide what to order. We'll just have to come back again so that I can try additional selections. I ended up ordering the French Toast, since the bread is made especially for Lincoln Square Pancake House by a local bakery, and a half portion of biscuits and gravy. My son ordered both French Toast and Pancakes, while my husband ordered a dish called the Lincoln Skillet, which was filled with hashbrowns, sausage gravy, peppers, a meat of your choice, then topped with two eggs (your choice of style). And if that isn't enough, the Lincoln Skillet also comes with your choice of pancakes, mini waffles,, French Toast, or toast. Our server was Brandy, who was very nice and patient while we asked questions and made our final decisions. Served with whipped cinnamon butter, the French Toast was truly the best I have ever eaten. And talk about filling! Needless to say, it's best to dine here with a completely empty stomach. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, and both my husband and son loved them. Despite being full, I also sampled a bite of hashbrowns from my husband's dish, and I loved them, particularly when topped with a little sausage gravy. My husband felt that the gravy needed a little more umpf but I liked it as is. Of course, he tends to like spicier foods than I do. The next time you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend that you drop in for a bite. The restaurant is clean, everyone is wearing masks, and the service is extremely fast and friendly. First time coming here. There was barely anyone inside. Decided to give it a try. Ordered coffee and was weak , not strong at all . When I added 2 creamer, it became so water down. My partner ordered chicken and waffles. Was only given 1 small flat fried chicken. The chicken is good, but small and flat and waffles were soft inside and crispy outside. The butter for the waffle was the best one. I got the spicy chicken with fries and Italian wedding soup, it was ok. It's funny that the fried chicken in my sandwich , is the same as in fried chicken and waffle. The fried chicken is good but it's just small and flat. There was a sauce inside the sandwich that I did not care for so I just scrape it off. Asked for mayo and got 3 packets... ok. I thought it was going to come in a small cup, I guess not. Our server is nice and gave her a very good tip. Speaking of tip , I left it on the table for her. We got up and ready to leave , gf had to use the bathroom so I sat on the chair near the door. The clean up guy , cleared the table we were at and noticed he took the tip. I watched him if he was going to give it to her but he did not. I just rolled my eyes and thought it as shameful. I honestly don't know if this was a kitchen or server mess up, but the food came out staggered...my little niece she's 3 years old was so hungry and her food didn't get out til dang near the end. As well as my oatmeal I asked for blueberries and strawberries and granola and some rye toast and the first bowl she bought had bananas, which I am allergic to so Ik I told her no bananas. Popped in to this place on a busy Saturday morning. Had to wait only about 5-10 minutes for a table to open up. There is a ton of seating inside and they do have signs to limit guests to staying for a maximum of an hour and a half at this time. Quick coffee service and ordering. A huge menu with lots of options whether it's eggs benedict, a skillet scramble, pancakes, waffles etc. They have something to suit everyone. I ordered the eggs benedict. Definitely a no in my book. I had my fiance try the hollandaise and he agreed it was bad. It wasn't bad as in it was going to make me sick or anything but the flavors were so far off it just tasted pretty awful. Steer clear of this menu item! The hash browns it came with were cooked perfect though and I have high praises about those! My family was meeting up for lunch, we initially went somewhere else where there was only one waitress. We decided to go elsewhere. We went across the street to Lincoln square pancake house. Half of our party wanted breakfast. Service was pretty fast. Servers were friendly. I was the only one in my party that ordered lunch. It was a special, San Francisco Reuben I believe that came with 2 sides. I ordered French Fries and chicken rice soup. Soup was amazing! Fries were average, kind of cold. Sandwich wasn't bad. Other guests all had breakfast and they enjoyed it. One of our guests ordered a chili cheese omelette and was sick for 2 days. Not sure if they were served bad chili or if it was a fluke. read more

The food here is excellent. I have alway had great breakfasts. I love the mini waffles and the biscuits. I have a hard time choosing which to get as my side 'carb'! I wanted to give it 5 stars because we were seated right away despite it being busy. Our service was good as well. However the Carmel apple crepes were not good. They use canned apples, which would be fine if you properly seasoned them in cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg with butter. So instead they throw canned apples in a crepe and sprinkle some cinnamon over them and then throw more cold canned apples on top and more cinnamon and drizzle with carmel. Heck you could have even just cooked the apples in the Carmel then put them in crepe. I hope you do better on this item for the next guest. read more

I really love this place. I've never had anything bad. (I've tried quite a few things on the breakfast menu.) but my absolute favorite on their menu is their fresh squeezed orange juice and their thick cut bacon. I will find myself craving both and then will need to make a trip to Lincoln Square. If my breakfast choice does not have bacon with it, I will always get a side. Today I strayed from omelets, skillets, breakfast nachos or tacos, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, or the mostly healthy oatmeal for over-medium eggs and bacon. I'll be honest, I find most mid-America breakfast establishments to be fairly similar. Bacon, eggs, waffles, you get it. Today, I expected more of the same. Oh boy, how very, very wrong I would be. This meal, no, this experience*, absolutely slapped- in the best way possible. The food was refreshingly well crafted and presented, (Blueberry Chicken Waffles) and was consistently satisfying- from the first bite to the longing memory after the meal. Despite this phenomenal product, there is one other thing that bears mention; the service... Kyle, our server, no- Kyle, our guide, offered a professionally casual, genuinely friendly, and comfortably attentive experience, that I would pray that every future dining experience I have, shares a small facet or aspect of the service today. Lincoln Square is our favorite low-key place to visit for brunch. This location is very similar to Lincoln Square's other local spots; busy atmosphere, friendly staff who know how to flip a table quickly, and a great menu that creatively tweaks the traditional stereotypical breakfast dishes. Lincoln Square recently redesigned its menu to a large 2-sided sheet (versus the multi-sheet book they used to heave at you). Menu favorites are still there, like Martin's Breakfast Bowl (eggs & chorizo over jalapeno corncakes) and the West Coast omelet (bacon, avocado, feta, tomato and onion). They still don't charge for egg white upgrades on omelets; score! My newest favorite dish is "The Alex" skillet; it has all the meats (sausage, bacon & ham) with a spicy Mexican twist (avocado, queso & pico), all drizzled with this delicious smoky chipotle Spanish sauce. The creamy chipotle drizzle is to die for and it ties all the flavors together well. I definitely recommend this Lincoln Square location just as strongly as the other ones. It's a great place to take a picky eater; something for everyone on their menu! read more

The way this was handled by their social media person was indeed wrong, however the owner of the franchise did reach out to me personally via Facebook. He apologized for their social media person and said they would be handled and agreed that the response was not ok. He also sent me a gift card enough for my husband and I to make up for not only the meal I couldn't eat but the whole situation. We are going to try another Lincoln square pancake house today. I have raised my star count based on the chain owners response as of 7/26. This was written on 7-17:Yesterday while my sister was getting treatment I ordered a Togo order at Lincoln square pancake house I got the meat lovers omelette and explained that I wanted to sub spinach and tomato for the green pepper and onion. I emphasized this. Explained that I'm allergic to onion and strongly dislike green pepper. When I use to live near by they would always just substitute it for me. I was assured this wasn't an issue. I live 40 minutes away and saved it for this morning covered in green pepper Etc it's like she just added spinach and tomato to the order. I went over it with her numerous times and explained I was allergic. Severely disappointed and threw away $12 because I can't eat this now. I posted this on Facebook and the person who manages their socials replied claiming my food had been replaced. A bold face lie. Since I did not go to eat this until the next morning and got this order to go, and I also posted a picture of this in my living room on a TV tray with my carpet. If this is how this company handles complaints about something when someone has an allergy this is a horrible company. Had I not noticed the green pepper and started tearing apart the omelette I wouldn't have noticed the onion and then could have been in the hospital. Allergies are no joke. I will never attend any of their establishments again because if you as a company desires to lie when a customer complains because you could have hospitalized them, then clearly you care more about your reputation then doing what is right. You care more about your restaurant then peoples lives. When I worked in the service industry and people mentioned they had an allergy we took that seriously. Banana bread toast! Amazingly crunchy, perfectly sweet, the honey wasn't the greatest but it came together well! Definitely not a go to dish here, their pancakes and skillets are the best. This location isn't terribly busy so it's nice to come here any day and have a good experience. Our waiter wasn't super attentive to detail but he was nice enough. Seemed to miss a few things we mentioned and presentation opportunities. He delivered my girls regular pancakes with banana butter. Which wasn't requested. So things like that All in all we didn't have a "bad" experience. It was rather neutral considering. The food was awesome though. Their orange juice is fresh squeezed and always recommend it but it's pricey and a small amount in a mason jar doesn't quench my thirst for it so i opt out usually. read more

I've been hearing for months now about trying this place. My wife and I decided we wanted to brunch but without the temptation of a mimosa or bloody mary, so this was the perfect time to stop by. We walked in about 12:00 noon, and it was slammed. Thankfully we saw two bar stools open and sat right down. Due to it being so busy, it was a little chaotic both in the waiting area as well as with the staff behind the counters. This is something we would not have noticed had we sat at a table, just something we observed as we sat at the counter. We started with their fried donut biscuits, OMG! They are crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and that apple butter is absolutely fantastic. It took me about another 15 minutes to decided what I wanted to eat, since they offer just about everything under the sun on their menu. I decided to go with the greek skillet. The meat was amazing, along with the feta cheese and fix-ins. You also know it's going to be good when as a "bread option" for your side you can select pancakes. They were delicious, soft, fluffy, and not too dense. My wife ordered the blueberry chicken and waffles. That in itself was a meal, the waffle being delicious along with the blueberry butter, however I thought the chicken was a little on the bland side. The quality of the chicken, the most important part, was perfect however. I usually do not leave restaurants overly stuffed, and am usually able to eat my entire meal and some of my wife's, whatever she has leftover; however this time I think I ate maybe just over half of my meal, and one bite of hers. I was defeated. This restaurant could've rolled me out of there if given the option. With all of the delicious looking menu items I will definitely come back, however maybe at a different time to avoid the chaos. read more
