I'm so glad this place has opened in Joplin! The interior is beautiful and bright and clean. Servers are friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. I got the million dollar bacon (HIGHLY recommend), which was a perfect mix of sweet and peppery, and a chocolate chip pancake (it was so big!). We stopped into First Watch while we were passing through Joplin on a cross-country road trip. I cannot say enough great things about First Watch: easy parking, super cute but nice farmhouse vibe, sincerely friendly staff, and delicious food. We got the AM Superfoods Bowl and Italian omelet with potatoes. Both came with better-than-average toast (thick-sliced multigrain, toasty on the edges but still chewy in the middle). Service was lazy and far less than I expected. Arrived and seated at 9:30am but unfortunately wasn't served our food until well after 10:30am order was placed incorrectly and when they brought it back to be fixed they must have been in too much of a rush to even make sure the eggs were cooked, because of this my mother in law did not eat. Food was cold as well and just not what I expected. Disappointed our server allowed us to sit there and wait for close to 40 minutes before coming to check why we hadn't received our plates yet. read more

On our first visit here. Very, very nice interior and atmosphere. Love the open air concept. The menu was simple. Coffee pot and water pot left on the table was refreshing. The waitress was very friendly. The food was upper scale priced but I had no problem with that as it was tastefully presented and was delicious. Fyi- hot syrup available upon request otherwise it's room temp. The restaurant was NOT noisy and the background music was quiet which I appreciated. Minor improvements needed which I chalk up to this location has only been open a short time. Still a 5 Star review in my opinion. read more

Traveled to Missouri for my husbands HS reunion! This was breakfast the next day and I just love how consistent First Watch restaurants are! This one has a really homey ambiance. It's spotless and clean, and the employees are super friendly! It's a large restaurant with a ton of parking, so don't leave if you see lots of cars and think you'll have to wait a long time! We didn't wait at 9:30 Sunday morning. Plenty of good seating inside! Now, the food. I normally get avocado toast at FW but today I tried something different and it was a good choice! I had their BLT version of Eggs Benedict. Really fresh and good. The side arugula salad was delicious, too! My husband had the Traditional Breakfast with an added egg ($2.49). He loved it and and the potatoes. The only thing he didn't like was how much butter was on his toast. Other than that, this was a 100% enjoyable breakfast experience, beating out a lot of competition in the area! read more

It is difficult to find a restaurant in Joplin that serves healthy food options or unique menu choices like an açai bowl and a quinoa bowl. To those who have been waiting for a healthy restaurant that are similar to the ones in the bigger cities, your prayers have been answered. Digging into our meals, we tried the traditional meal ($10.49) for those who want a simple breakfast. We chose the bacon, and it was really good. It had a crispy crunch with a strong flavor that was not too salty. They gave us four strips of bacon. Then, we asked them to cook the eggs over easy, and they were cooked perfectly. The whole grain artisan bread was really good because it had grains for texture, and you could tell it was high quality bread. The seasoned potatoes had a garlic season with a nice hint of a roast charred taste. The potatoes could stand alone, which not many breakfast places' potatoes can do. Usually at other restaurants, the potatoes are quite bland so the customer will season them to his or her liking. Rating: 4/5 Our second plate was the Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowl ($9.79). The quinoa had a caviar texture when bitten into, and it had a burst of a lemony garlic butter flavor. The kale was quite fresh and not wilted from the heat of the other ingredients. The italian sausage was tender and chewy with a rich pepperoni-prosciutto-like taste. The flavors were so rich and creamy, yet refreshing from the vegetables. Rating: 5/5 Finally for the dessert, we chose the lemon ricotta pancakes ($9.99). Each bite of the pancakes was so moist and flavorful. The ricotta had a hint of a cheesecake taste, and the lemon curd and strawberries gave a splash of tang. It wasn't soggy since it barely needed syrup to sweeten it. The pancakes were bigger than my face. If a lemon bar and a strawberry shortcake had a baby together, this pancake would be their child. Rating: 5/5 All of the employees were very welcoming and attentive to our needs and questions. The environment of the restaurant was bright, trendy, and refreshing. They wanted to sit us in a tiny corner. No Thank You!!!! I was not offered a straw and when I asked for ice for my water, it took her three trips to remember the ice. Order took longer than expected. I had ordered the Eggs Benedict. The tomato isn't grilled and the eggs were hard with no whites. I came to eat with my husband and will not ever wait again for a place to recook my food because they can not do it right the first time. So over priced. $10-15 per person. This place is really good. Ask for samples of the fruit drinks beforehand because the one my boyfriend and I chose based on the menu description tasted weird. Our breakfasts were really good. Wow! Discovered this place in May and LOVE the fresh juices they offer. The whole grain toast and Millionnaire Bacon are off-the-charts delicious as are the Ricotta Lemon Curd Pancakes! A bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Decor and atmosphere are wonderful, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and have a great attitude and work ethic like Chic Fila. Other than wishing they used REAL Canadian Bacon and not shaved thin stuff on their Eggs Benedict, I won't grade them down on it. Joplin needed this place. read more
