I love a good First Watch! We have visited many locations all over the country and it is always a hit when we live near one. They have such a great variety of menu items and the seasonal items are always fun and exciting. Service at this location was spot on and the wait between ordering and our food coming out was very quick even though there were many customers at the time. First Watch is in a great location as well that is new and developing. We look forward to our next visit here!

Grabbed breakfast at First Watch on a Wednesday morning. It was not busy, but I love that they have a virtual waitlist you can join! We arrived and were seated quickly. Service was kind and fast. I got the frittata and it was good - nothing crazy, but a solid frittata. The salad that came with it was good too. It is close to my house, so I'd definitely go again.

My friend and I had a late breakfast and decided on First Watch, it's one of our favorite places. When we arrived there were people sitting outside waiting g to be seated-first watch is always busy so download the App and get on the waitlist! We found 3 seats available at the Bar Top so we sat and were greeted promptly. I ordered my favorite-Purple Haze and my friend ordered the Morning Meditation. We had a hard time deciding on breakfast as everything sounded so good. They have a Seasonal Menu which looked yummy too but I ordered The B.E.C. the Server recommended to get the sauce on the side-she said it's a little spicy! I'm glad she told me because it sure was HOT(Spicy)it was really delicious though. First Watch has a bar top, patio and regular dining area.

Never a bad experience at First Watch. They have an awesome menu that will appeal to even the fussiest eater. Service is fast and the food hot and fresh. I recommend trying some of the seasonal items. They are very creative.

We had a great brunch here! We enjoyed two seasonal dishes, the lavender French toast and a hash meal. We also had a Pineapple Express drink that was very good. Service was fast and friendly and menu is full of great options as usual. I forgot to check in on their app, so we had to wait about 30 minutes, but it wasn't too bad of a wait. Definitely check in on the app if you have it and register your birthday so you can get a bogo deal like we had!

We love being able to join the waitlist prior to arrival so we don't have to wait in a crowded sitting area. The restaurant was hustling and bustling but it was kept clean and the wait wasn't terrible at all. The menu options were amazing as always and our food and beverages were as superb as they've always been from our first experience at any first watch location. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had the best breakfast this morning before taking my little one to school. My works omelet was amazing. I love their toast, trust me even the toast is tip top. The staff including our server were so amazing. We didn't want for anything. The coffee was super hot and we had plenty of sugars and assorted creamers. Our water came out in the super cute glass bottle with very nice heavy glass water glasses. The restaurant is beautiful, very tasteful decor. Well lit but not so bright you'll get a headache (just incase you come in with a hangover). The seats are comfortable, the restaurant is very clean and the restrooms are exceptionally clean. Please check them out. Let me know if you enjoy it. We are sure to be back again and again. Great job 1st watch!!

Overall first watch is a great place to eat. I gave it three stars due to my experience when I first arrived. When I checked in to the host stand and requested I'd like to sit outside, the guy told me that was fine and to sit anywhere out there. I initially sat at a table where the sun was shining directly on my back, so I moved to a table completely in the shade. In the mist of doing that a server from that section walks up to me and says "there is a completely different server in this section and you need to let your server know your moving tables." It caught me off guard when she approached me and said that. Considering no one came to the initial table were I was sitting at. It appeared that she was the only server in the outside section. I made her aware the host told me I could sit anywhere outside and that it seems to be a miscommunication between the employees. Long story short it was her section all together and she was getting off soon. I arrived at 1pm and they closed at 2:30pm. I really wanted to leave but the person I came with wanted to stay, so I took one for the team. When our food was being brought to our table it was delivered sporadically, which caused the food brought out first to get cold waiting for the rest of the order. We chose not to say anything because it was already a burden that we choose to eat outside. One of the Bar servers paid very close attention to detail and saw we were frustrated with how our experience was going and brought us a complementary breakfast drink. Very nice jester :) I ordered the seasonal items from the menu, the brisket hash bowl and watermelon breakfast drink. The smoked salmon Benedict without the eggs and sauce. The person that came with me ordered a morning meditation and the trifecta with a Belgian waffle , breakfast potatoes and a side of million dollar bacon. The food and drinks were 5 stars! I definitely recommend eating here and I'll definitely be back, just at another location.

Love this place. When I travel I always find this chain. But it does not feel like a chain. Great food. Love the egg sandwich and the fresh just. Wait staff is very friendly. Nice room. Can get a little pound when it is crowded.

To step through its threshold is to surrender to the siren song of warmth that curls from the oven like a whispered secret. I have made it my pilgrimage to traverse the entirety of their menu, a culinary odyssey that has yielded no false steps, only a symphony of consistency that borders on the miraculous. Each offering, from the flaky, golden architecture of their pastries to the robust, honest comfort of their savory fare, is a testament to the artisan's hand. Here, affordability is not a sacrifice of quality but a generous invitation, a rare confluence where the exquisite meets the accessible. There is a certain magic in the air at McLain's, a sweetness that feels woven into the very fabric of the establishment. It is a place that understands the language of comfort, speaking it fluently in the dialect of a perfect crust or the rich, dark notes of a expertly pulled espresso. It is perhaps no surprise that such a bastion of authentic delight has garnered a reputation that extends far beyond our local borders; if the standard of excellence is high enough to grace the plate of Taylor Swift, then surely, it is more than enough for us, the grateful residents who claim this treasure as our own. Yet, beyond the flour-dusted counters and the glowing glass cases, my deepest admiration is reserved for their spirit. In a world that often measures worth in cold, transactional metrics, McLain's chooses to honor those who pour themselves into the future of our community. As a teacher, I feel that recognition in the small gestures, the welcoming nods, and the genuine appreciation they extend to educators. It is a profound kindness, a recognition that the work of shaping minds requires nourishment, both intellectual and literal. They understand that a classroom is a marathon, and they act as the essential pit stop, providing the fuel that keeps the light of inquiry burning bright. To dine at McLain's is to participate in a ritual of belonging. It is a place where the passage of time is marked not by the ticking of a clock, but by the turning of the oven trays. It is a reliable heartbeat in the neighborhood, steadfast and true, offering a reprieve from the clamor of the outside world. Whether one seeks a quiet moment of reflection over a cup of coffee or a celebratory feast that honors the simple, profound joy of eating well, McLain's remains an unrivaled steward of taste. It is not merely a bakery; it is the living, breathing soul of Waldo, a place where every bite serves as a reminder that some things in this life are exactly as good as they ought to be.

Seating might be full, but there's both counter seating in the open concept kitchen or tables on the other side. A lot of people rave about their breakfast burritos or breakfast biscuit sandwiches. My out of town guests love them too when I bring them here. I'm here to rave about their weekend only croissants. You can only get them on Saturday or Sunday because it takes a days to ferment and laminate the dough. The quality of their ingredients shines in even the simplest plain croissant. I'll occasionally venture into the chocolate or almond version. They rival some of the best I've had in NYC, SF or Paris. In KC, the only other rivals can be found at French Market or Sour Rabbit Bakery. I'm glad their croissants are weekend only so I can have them as an occasional treat. I find their other pastries, especially the tarts, biscuits or scones are also lovely. For a baked goods focused spot, I'd say their cold brew is also pretty great quality as well. Usually I'd go to another coffee shop for a fix, but I'm okay grabbing both a croissant and cold brew here. I haven't been for their "after hours" dinner specials, but that's next on my to do list there!
