had a fantastic, relaxing morning at Mildred's in Kansas City. I tried the Café de Olla (their cold brew with milk and vanilla), and it was excellent--smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. The highlight, though, was the Standard Vegetarian sandwich. It was honestly incredible; the steamed egg was so fluffy and delicious, it really lived up to the hype. I managed to snag a spot by the fireplace in the back to read my book, which made for a very peaceful and cozy atmosphere. Just a heads-up that it's all street parking. I got lucky with a spot nearby, but even if you have to walk a block or two, the food and the vibes are well worth it. I'll definitely be back!

Mildred's is THAT girl. What a great spot to grab breakfast at before heading back to STL. This was exactly what I was looking for to fulfill my brunch/ lunch cravings. This is order at the counter and the line moves pretty fast. They have coffee, tea, kombucha, wine and beer, and brunch drinks. I didn't indulge in any boozy cocktails as I was driving, but the coffee was great and I really enjoyed it. Their breakfast is again one all day, and they also have lunch sandwiches. I got the standard breakfast sandwich which came with a steamed egg and bacon. I really liked the steamed egg, it was light and fluffy. I also grabbed a slice of chocolate chip banana bread to enjoy later and it was amazing. The aesthetic of the place is super cute. Loved the drawings and small touches on all of the wrappings and cups. Just go!! You won't be disappointed!!

Mildred's is a favorite when I'm in KC, and this is my new favorite location - definitely felt very spacious compared to the other one I went to that was more downtown. I opted for the biscuits and gravy this time instead of a breakfast sandwich and WOW. The gravy had a little kick and the biscuits were substantial. Drinks were good as always! Friendly staff, too.

Mildred's will forever be a place I always recommend to someone if they want a yummy lunch with great vibes. The service is quick and the people are so friendly !The menu specials change often with great seasonal coffees to pair with their pastries and breakfast items. Besides the breakfast hash, Their chipotle breakfast burrito, chipotle turkey wrap and standard Breakfast sandwich all should get honorable mentions! Their cinnamon rolls also slap!

Always love coming back to Mildred's. Spent my birthday morning at Mildred's with Hot Pumpkin Spice latte and Standard breakfast sandwich! There's something about breakfast sandwich at Mildred's. You can't get better than this. Service hasn't changed one bit and I ended up spending couple of hours. Love the ambiance!

Pro tip: most everything is special.

Crossroads. Coffee. Vibe. Mildred's has the vibe locked down, the coffee & coffee beverage options are outstanding, and hey, this Mildred's anchors that west Crossroads. For my money, it's hands-down the first option for me when I want a place to enjoy or work while enjoying my coffee. Parking stinks, but so what? Crossroads isn't the suburbs, so it's not like you have tons of space. If you can park on one of the side streets, then great; if you have to walk a bit, then that is normal. It certainly isn't Mildred's fault that they have a great location that is more attuned to foot or bicycle traffic. Once you're there, then enjoy the spacious interior. There is a large U-shaped "bar" area, with single seats and power adapters nearby, handy for that mobile work experience when your device batteries can't hang. If there is any knock to the space, it is that the line, near the door mind you, can get somewhat crowded while ordering, and then that crowd shifts slightly to the left for people waiting for their orders. Mildred is probably doing the best they can given the space, but it does get very bunchy. If you're there for breakfast, then I highly recommend the Standard Sandwich. Eggs & bacon atop your choice of bread (go for brioche, even if it's extra) with Swiss & a dijonnaise. It pairs splendidly with a cup of their house roast blend and the sammich has a short life span. My wife and I are also suckers for the gooey butter cake, and it does not disappoint. It's like a version of that simple dessert that maybe one of the ladies at church made when you were a kid, maybe during a potluck, and you've been looking to match it ever since. It is delightful! The merch matches the vibe and the employees are friendly and focused. There are a couple other locations around town, but when you're in the Crossroads for coffee, this is the place to be. The price point is very fair for the area and the value is spot on. It might get a touch loud if the space is crowded, but there are options to take it as you go or to just stay to enjoy, so do just that!

Mildred's in Midtown KC is a fast casual sandwich spot with an open kitchen layout that will quickly find a special place in your heart. The restaurant is a lively place to be at and offers outdoor seating, spots near the open kitchen, and a separate indoor dining area to choose from. As soon as you enter through the main door, you'll see outdoor or window side seating areas, with the menu displayed and an ordering kiosk on the left. When I walked in, the line was short, moved quickly, and the staff was friendly and easy to talk to and the service was fairly quick. The restaurant offers our breakfast brunch and lunch menu along with a bunch of vegan and gluten-free food options and all the food is decently priced. If you compare it with the local breakfast shops, Mildred definitely stand outs to be more affordable. The portion size is not too big so I feel One could still be hungry even after having one sandwich without a drink. We ordered the Guacamole Chicken Club and the Ham and Swiss sandwich. Both sandwiches were tasty, but the clear winner was the Ham and Swiss. It had a perfectly balanced flavor from savory and meaty to hints of garlic. The generous portion of ham paired well with the toasted bun, making it a real treat. While placing my order, I asked the staff to make sure the chicken in the guacamole chicken club was juicy, since grilled chicken can often turn out dry. She mentioned it was pre-prepared but assured me she'd make sure it came out juicy. The Guacamole Chicken Club was good too, though the guacamole was under seasoned or not seasoned at all. It tasted like plain mashed avocado, which was fresh and enjoyable but it overpowered the rest of the sandwich!! The chicken itself was juicy and well prepared. Overall, the sandwiches were of amazing quality and flavor. I also grabbed a drip coffee, which cost around 4 dollars for a 16-ounce cup and it was refreshing what havewith the sandwiches. The sandwiches came with a bag of Boulder Chips, cooked in avocado oil, and I thought they paired well with the light, fresh vibe of the sandwiches. We chose to sit near the open kitchen area. Personally, I found it a bit loud because of the foot traffic, but it still felt warm and welcoming to be there. The restaurant has a decent sized menu, offering everything from breakfast options to lunch items. The sandwiches lean more toward lunch time food, but we had them for breakfast and had no regrets. This specific location has live music on first Fridays as well. I also loved the breakfast inspired cute deli paper designs and my favorite one was the dancing bacon. Overall, I think you'd enjoy this vibrant sandwich spot. If you're hoping for a quiet breakfast, it's best to arrive right when they open or during late lunch hours. I would happily rate the experience 5/5.

Loved it here! Located in the Crossroads Art District. The inside is huge with lots of seating. There's a room in the back as well. The kitchen is open a with bar top seating that wraps around. They have great breakfast and lunch options. I got the Cobb salad (smaller size) and it was still plenty of food. I wish I could've tried more. The service was also nice and quick for how busy it was during lunch rush.

I am really picky about my iced lattes (always taste too milky or not enough espresso flavor). I loved my snickerdoodle iced latte here!! It was the percent balance of espresso, milk, and flavoring/sweetness. Great vibe with plenty of space to sit & the cinnamon roll was delish.

I like the open space. I also really like how the restaurant fills itself with natural light despite being a morning-inspired business in a bit of a cavernous building on the west side of the block. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I like ordering a bagel or a breakfast sandwich, grabbing a chair and taking 30-45 minutes to relax. Lunch options are available, however I haven't tried them yet. The staff is polite and happy to answer any questions.

I've really been looking forward to trying Mildred's out and today was the day. Absolutely loved the visit today! Place was packed on a Thursday at 9:30 am. Pastries were fully stocked and food came out faster than I could find a table! I got the breakfast hash, cinnamon roll and a chai latte and didn't go wrong with any of my choices. Fun atmosphere and loved the fast paced volume of guests. Will definitely be back!

I'd heard a lot about Mildred's, particularly the Chipotle breakfast wrap. I got that, the ooey gooey cake & a latte. While everything was wonderful, that breakfast wrap was one of the best I'd ever had. & for the price, the size & flavor make it well worth every penny! On top of that, the service was amazing. Very kind staff, very clean restaurant. Will definitely be back to try more off of the menu.

Everything was clean and the service was excellent and everyone was friendly. They offer beer, wine, and soft drinks. I stuck with beer because they have Guinness on tap and I won't pass that up. Prices for drinks are extremely reasonable. The sandwiches are fantastic. I went with Bob's Italian sub: salami, ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion, American and provolone cheese, dressing, on a steamed Italian roll. I opt for double the meat which made the sandwich a whopping 10 ounces. Did I need to double it? No, but I like a giant sandwich and I have no regrets. The sandwich itself was delicious, I liked the combination and I would definitely order it again and highly recommend it. With the double meat the price was $12.95. All of the prices were well under what you normally see and is a welcome reprieve from $20 burgers and sandwiches without sides. They offer regular deli type sides but I went for a bag of pickles because who doesn't love a bag of pickles? They have other sandwich options including vegetarian and build your own. Definitely worth stopping in to have a Sammy and a brew. I'll be going back for sure!

You seated yourself and there were a couple of people at the bar and maybe a few people at another table inside when we arrived. The woman from the bar took shortly after we sat down. I originally ordered the Muffaletta and was excited to try it since I moved here from NOLA a couple of years back but it's pre-made and the bread can't be toasted which is my preference so I changed to the KC Rueben which is $12.95 for the sandwich with no side. I chose not to add a side for extra cost. I also requested it with no 100O island dressing because I do not like it. It was good. The burnt ends were flavorful and I like that the slaw is vinegar based and not overly sweet. It can on tasted deli sz bread cut in half. I wasn't very hungry so I only ate half and saved the other half. It is not a great sandwich to save because it was not great as a leftover. Too squishy. There's not a large amount of burnt ends and with a small tip and tax (I just got water), I spent about $17. I think I will probably try something else next time. My friends liked their Reuben's and build your own sandwiches.

This Bay Boy is a small window located inside The Commons which is connected to Cinderblock Brewery but, don't be fooled by its small stature it still carries the full menu of the West Plaza location. The one thing it boasts is you can grab a brew from with The Commons bar or from Cinderblock while your sandwich is crafted. And don't fret because these sandwiches are well worth any wait they may take! What makes Bay Boy utterly unforgettable is the Dutch crunch bread. This unique crackly slightly crunchy but still, oh so pillowy soft bread is the perfect vessel to hold all the fillings of any of the sandwiches on the extensive menu. My number one recommendation sadly is not always on the menu but if you catch it you better order it! It is called The Blue Blaze and it consists of juicy white meat turkey, peppery arugula, melty mild white cheddar and locally sourced spicy blueberry jam. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick. Another winner is the Wagyu Nebraskan if you want a bougie take on a Rueben. The Wagyu corned beef is locally sourced and is melt in your mouth paired with a slightly sweet kraut, nutty Swiss cheese and the tangy thousand island this sandwich is an elevated take on a classic. Another winner, well let's just face it any sandwich at Bay Boy is a winner winner chicken dinner (in the words of the iconic Guy Fieri), but let's focus on another rift of a classic sandwich the El Jefe. This is Bay Boy's take on a Cubano but unlike its predecessor the bread isn't flat or pressed it's on a Dutch crunch roll like every sandwich on the menu. The mojo pork is buttery and fatty- in a good way- making the meat so moist that combined with salty ham, melted Swiss and zingy briny pickles makes for a killer combination. Don't forget the mustard! And how Bay Boy makes it there own is with an addition of a zesty vibrant red pepper sauce. You can't help but to love El Jefe. I could go on and on about how each sandwich is unparalleled but, I'll just bore you with one more...The Bay Boy, I couldn't cover Bay Boy's without mentioning the sandwich that the restaurant was named after (or was it the other way around) anyways it doesn't matter. The Bay Boy is a cold sandwich (unlike the other ones I mentioned which are all toasty) which may sound simple but, the medley of flavors is paired down perfection. No pile of meats just stand alone Soppressata which shouldn't need any introduction because it's the superior salami. This sandwich gets sauced down with not one, not two but four sauces that make the sandwich anything but dry. Classic mayo and mustard are alongside a creamy pungent garlic sauce and a red pepper sauce, which is a mix of cherry and banana peppers. Then produce is added for freshness, think lettuce, tomato and zippy raw red onions (my personal favorite) with pickles of course! This truly is a sandwich masterpiece.

The turkey and gouda were solid, peppers gave it a little bite, and that blueberry jam added just enough sweetness to balance everything out without being weird about it. I paused after the first bite because it caught me off guard in a good way. Finished the whole thing, chips and all. Simple setup, really good food, and I'll absolutely be back.
