It was really good and I loved the contrast of the tart beet with the sweetness of the orange. I even enjoyed the "Kale Tonic" which was made kale, Fuji apple, cucumber & lemon. This feels super healthy. Hey it's not easy being green. They are also introducing signature cocktails with all of their fantastic squeezed juices. Cheers to brunch with these delicious signature cocktails. I highly recommend enjoying their delicious "Project Sunrise" coffee made with beans from Huila, Columbia. You can really taste the richness of this delicious coffee in every cup. I've never had avocado toast before. I've only heard good things about it, so I had to try it. The dish is fantastic. It starts out with thick-cut whole grain toast which is just amazing. In fact, it's their own bread recipe. It's topped with a mixture of both smashed & chunk avocados, olive oil, lemon and Maldon sea salt. It's so good. They even sell loaves of their sliced bread at the restaurant. I recommend buying a few to go, after your meal. We wanted to try the new seasonal speciality dishes here. The elote hash and barbacoa tacos were calling our names. Both dishes were incredible. The elote hash was made with two sunny-side cage-free eggs on top of seasoned fried potatoes, house-roasted summer sweet corn and crumbled chorizo. It's also topped with sliced avocado, cheddar/monterey jack cheese, chipotle crema & scallions. There's also a side of warm wheat-corn blend tortillas which were very tasty. The barbacoa tacos were made with seasoned braised beef barbacoa, scrambled cage-free eggs, scallions, melted cheddar/monterey jack cheese, chive cream, Cotija cheese, pico de gallo & fresh avocado with a side of black beans. The tacos were creative and tasty. It was the perfect brunch item to enjoy. I loved how both of these dishes weren't heavy. I didn't want to take a nap after eating. Has anyone ever had dessert at breakfast? I'm thinking I found the answer. I highly recommend you get some of their lemon ricotta pancakes topped with marinated berries and creamy lemon curd. It's the perfect dessert to finished off any meal with. First Watch is rising in Illinois and they are bringing a fresh and sustainable approach to how we start our day. Husband had the rustic frittata and added sausage, it tastes like pizza :) but the bread that came with it tasted stale though. Perhaps I am accustomed to the Midwest suburban pancake house serving size, so I was a bit surprise by the portion size. Wow, fist visit to the old Chili's location in Deer Park!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Bright cheerful redesign. Very open and airy. Impressive decor and colors. Everything is well planned and thought out, from the menus to the 2 coffee cups on every table. Excellent service, creative menu, excellent and somewhat unique meals. Breakfast and brunch only! The old bar area of Chili's now has been fitted with folding windows that let the air in on a beautiful June day. A great experience! Will be our new breakfast favorite! read more

The waitress wasn't as friendly and didn't wait for us before she began walking to our table. We got a cup of coffee and water quickly, but it took 25 minutes until we had to flag down another waitress for our order to be taken. Other customers that came after us got their food before we even ordered. After getting the food, the waiter told us that we had another sausage link coming but when he brought it 10 minutes later, there was a hair on the plate. Everything about this new restaurant is amazing! I brought my 10 and 6 year old kiddos. And almost complete wraparound to spar how do you want to get in my kitchen! My son had the kids granola bowl and loved it, even with the slivered almonds. My daughter had the chocolate chip pancake which was one single plate-sized beauty with a genius syrup bottle that will never give you too much. If you know this mama, like most parents, a pot of coffee at the table when I sit down is a sure sign I'll be back! I had the biscuits and gravy and we all shared the Million Dollar Bacon. The wait is not too long if you sign up for the waitlist. Bring your own caffeinated teabags if you want caffeine with your tea. They only have caffeine free teas. They offered English Breakfast but came back empty handed. They're out of English Breakfast tea with caffeine. The wait staff must've forgotten to put in our order because 45 minutes later 3 other seats around us got their food even though they sat after we ordered. It was nice of them to offer extra order of bacon and comp the meals. The multigrain lemon ricotta pancake was not as I expected. I've had better. The bacon was spicy. The bananas foster French toast was super sweet as expected. The place was super clean. The wait staff had no masks on. The only one with the mask was the busboy. I went to First Watch with a friend for brunch on Saturday around 10:15 am and was seated right away. The interior is super cute and clean, very modern-looking. Our server was good and food was also good overall. I ordered eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and it came with a side of greens. The restaurant leans towards fresh and healthy ish cooking, and I could definitely taste that in the food, though I enjoyed it because I like to eat healthy. I'm not sure if it's an improvement or not because yall obviously don't flavor your food very well for a reason and yall definitely have a core group of regulars that come in probably because of the freshness of the ingredients. I had the breakfast tacos today and where I could taste how fresh everything was there was just absolutely no flavor. There's a certain age group that likes that kind of cooking. I would offer some kind of sauce on the side to kinda give these tacos more life. I was very dissatisfied with the breakfast this morning. Didn't finish the tacos. Maybe the pico was sitting for too long too the tomatoes looked on the last day and the juices of the tomatoes really over powered the entire dish. Didn't even touch the beans. read more

My visit to First Watch this morning was disappointing. I received a gift card and figured might as well give it a try. The food and the juice bar were good. The cold brew wasn't great and by the end of our meal, it was basically untouched. When we went to pay at the front counter, they informed us that their gift card machine was not working. So, we had to pay with my credit card instead. The staff's lackluster response and minimal apologies was off putting. We felt like this circumstance was very much the businesses' problem (not ours) that their machine wasn't working and therefore, would have expected a better response/solution to be offered. read more

Entree prices were super fair, portions were great, and flavor was fantastic! Came here during a peak time but was able to grab a couple open seats at the bar. The bartender was busy the whole time but friendly and continued to check in with us. We had a nice view of all the restaurant happenings and the ambiance on a nice, breezy afternoon. Came here for weekday lunch. The place is nice and spacious. Weekdays aren't bad but weekends usually have long lines. They are good with concept and marketing - however both dishes we ordered - one skillet and one egg dish - were overly seasoned with salt . Went here for a birthday brunch. First timers here and it was enjoyable. We were able to make our reservations online which made the trek here so much easier because we knew we wouldn't have to wait too long. This place has rustic farmhouse aesthetic and I'm all for it. Our waiter was a sweetheart and the food was good. My girlfriend has some dietary restrictions and they were able to accompany her gluten free requests so that's always a great thing. The drinks were pretty and overall, it was a fun experience. The price is a tad bit steep for what you get but hey, it's all about the experience (and the food...and drinks) and to be honest, this wasn't all that bad. Overall the food was good but inflation hit this place hard. Usually I think of a breakfast place having large portions enough for you to almost always have a doggie bag. But not this place. I split a French toast dish with my daughter thinking it would be enough, but it was barely enough for one person.... So we ordered more food and had to wait another 25 minutes for it to come out. For the prices you'd expect 'normal' size portions, even in light of inflation. It's not like I don't go out often enough to see prices going up, but this place has taken shrinkflation to another level. I don't know if this place just hates doing take-out because the reviews seem so great otherwise. Ordered again for breakfast over the weekend and was disappointed once more. I got the biscuits and turkey gravy with over-easy eggs, while my boyfriend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. Since we went really indulgent this time, I didn't think we could go wrong. Unfortunately, my potatoes were once again raw, my eggs were over hard, and my gravy was overseasoned with pepper. I love pepper! But it was completely overpowering. The upside? The biscuits were pretty tasty. However, after trying to chew through several mouthfuls of potatoes and picking at my overcooked eggs, I really couldn't care less about the biscuits. The pancakes really weren't amazing, but the saving grace here was the lemon curd, which was very tasty. However, when that's the only part of a meal that's delicious, something is terribly wrong. Maybe someday, when enough time has passed, we will visit in person, but take out from here is definitely a no-go. read more

This lead me to first watch locally ( they also have locations in FL that I've enjoyed in the past ) first watch has a bar area with fresh juiced drinks and alcoholic breakfast refreshments as well. The small bar area is very cute, clean and airy. The menu is not huge but where they lack in variety they make up for in quality. The bacon here is always a treat, cooked to perfection EVERYTIME. The protein pancakes are solid and will fill you up fast. The kale tonic is killer. I've never had to wait here either. It's always busy but not crowded or overwhelming especially for someone like me with sensory issues. Too much chaos and I have to go. This place is chill and calm.
