Breakfast was fresh and delicious, even my egg white omelette. The service was good and quick!

I came here on a Sunday morning around 11am. Waited about 20 minutes as they were pretty busy. However, I saw a lot of dirty tables that sat dirty for almost the entire time we waited for our table. It also seed like they werent seating some tables at all but maybe they were reserved. I saw one employee not doing much of anything, not sure why she didn't clean any tables. They also seemed to only have one busser, not sure why a breakfast place would only have one busser for brunch but maybe the other busser didn't show up for work. In any case we were seated and with plenty of time waiting for our table were ready to order. I got a coffee which was okay, it was a littlelittle weak for my taste. We ordered a roast beef havarti sandwich with tomato basil soup. It was pretty good, I asked for no arugula and they put it on the sandwich anyway. The bread was toasted but the roast beef was cold, I was expecting a hot sandwich. The soup was good too. I also ordered the BLT benedict. I was disappointed with the dish. The eggs were tiny and the long roll they put the benedict on made it hard to eat. I wish it would've come on an english muffin. We also got the seasonal PB&J waffle which was okay. It came with almond butter, strawberry jam, and granola. I think at $8 for one waffle it is overpriced. Service was good. Food takes a little while due to business and the fact that they make the food to order. Long story short, I'll go back to try more things. read more

We were a family of 5 visiting KY for a day to drive to the Boone National Forest. We were staying at the Red Roof hotel for a night and since the hotel didn't have a morning breakfast, we decided to drive to this place after checking out some great reviews. The place was little bit of a puzzle to solve while trying to find it as it was amidst a lot of other joints. The hosts checked us in quickly and we got a nice table very soon. The menu card has a plethora of food choices and each of us had a choice to make from the menu. The host was nice to adhere to our needs and got our orders promptly. We had a veg burger with side of potatoes that tasted out of the world and couple of us had blueberry pancakes. The coffee is fresh from Columbia and it certainly stood up to its promise. I had a 'morning meditation' made of beet root and ginger orange that was one of a kind and the hot chocolate was rich in taste. This place is definitely a delight for breakfast if you are in Lexington. read more

This location is one of three in Lexington. This one is just off of the interstate and near Hamburg Shopping Center. So, it's pretty convenient. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. I've only eaten here once during breakfast, so I can't speak about the lunch options. Like most other chain restaurants, it's almost impossible to earn a five star rating from me. It's very similar to Wild Eggs, which will have a Hamburg location opening soon. I think that the entire menu is a bit on the healthy side. So, if you're looking for a greasy spoon, southern cooking breakfast, this isn't your place. I ordered the Trifecta, which came with three eggs of my choice, a waffle or pancake and my choice of sausage. I ordered my eggs over medium, but they came out slightly browned and too cooked for my liking. I chose the Belgian Waffle and it came out with a tasty powdered sugar and a scoop of butter. I chose turkey sausage and the order consisted of two small links. The waitress was nice and tentative. So overall, the service, convenient locale and the waffle earned my three stars. read more

Stopped here on our way home from Florida. The food and service were great. My wife who is not a big breakfast fan got an omelet with mushrooms and goat cheese and it was great. Very light and fluffy not oily or greasy at all. I got the Farmer hash skillet with my eggs over medium and it was great. What was very nice was the place was very clean, there was even an employee clean the baseboards. All the staff was nicely groomed wearing the same blue shirt and blue jeans not the stretchy pants. You could tell the manager and hopefully the staff had great pride in their place of business. read more

So we checked in and my oldest "Meghan" gave them her name. So we waited and I heard the lady say to a waitress who name was also "Meghan" say I'm going to put Meghan party of 4 at your booth. So the waitress is cleaning off that particular booth and stops for whatever reason. The hostess continues to seat other patrons AFTER we checked in in other parts of the restaurant that would accommodate 4 people. I'm confused at this point. Another two parties AFTER we had checked are seated and the "booth" for "Meghan's" area still isn't completely cleaned. We are then seated in another waitress' area after waiting an additional amount of time because the hostess thought it was "cool" to seat a party with the same name as my daughter in the same area didn't work out. What should have been a maybe 5 minute wait turned in to about 15. Our waitress was super great and our food arrived in record time. This 3 star rating is based solely on the hostess, get it together lady, we don't care what our waitress' name is!! read more

From an 8 year old This restaurant is like a modern farmhouse, almost like a futuristic house. Good place for kids and lots of spacing. I liked all the food options, especially the square plates. The food tasted good. I would recommend this place, it's a good place to eat. read more

Let me start by saying I absolutely love First Watch. Having said that todays visit overall was wonderful! Great service and the Kale Refresher as always is amazing. I do want to speak on the new menu items however. The Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash sounded amazing! Was less than steller on review. The potatoes were way to large to call it hash and the amount of corn given was abhorrently low for something named as the star of the dish. Two tortillas should be 3 and the potatoes were underdone. My wife had the Bananas Foster French Toast, it was very pretty but the carmel sauce was way too abundant and rich. The Brioche Toast was lacking any egg I could see. I habe come to expect more from First Watch as normally their food is stellar! I still gave 4 stars because of their ability and customer service. read more

So, so good. My family can not agree on anything for breakfast. My wife only eats avocado toast and I like a more hearty breakfast. We just stumbled onto First Watch and it checked all boxes. First Watch is a great breakfast spot! Though there may be a wait on the weekends, it's super easy to get in during the week, and the service is so fast! I'm always surprised by how quickly I get my food - and it still tastes fresh and hot! They have a fantastic belgian waffle. I had my first ever eggs benedict here, years ago, and it has been a favorite of mine ever since! My mom always gets their oatmeal, which she seems to enjoy greatly. This is one place where I frequently find myself ordering off of their specials - they are always so good! Recently there was a nutella french toast that was delicious! Plenty of perfect, obvious breakfast meals to choose from and several options for those who are very health conscious and look for super nutritious foods or who have allergy issues. Besides the obvious I woke up sure of only two things. I wanted breakfast and I did not want to cook it. So I've been searching the Yelp community. I narrowed it down to the waffle house and First Watch Café. With no disrespect to waffle house I just didn't want any food that I could potentially cook myself and probably make it better. So basically I'm at the First Watch Café. The place was very quiet and ecliptic to say the least. Very welcoming staff at the counter very impressive the decor. Displaces very inviting if that make any sense. I could literally hang out here and not feel unwelcome. I was seated with the menu and coffee. My only negative was that I wasn't asked if I wanted decaf or caffeinated coffee. No biggie I was a little tired so I decided to keep caffeinated anyway. Keep in mind the only information I had on this place was based on reviews and pictures from yelp. So not all the pictures from the yelp reviews I could immediately translate to a menu item. So it took me a little longer to actually order my food. I originally ordered the raisin French toast. With eggs and Turkey sausage. However the way I order them individually my meal would've literally cost me 17 bucks. The waitress suggested that I ordered the trifecta. Which in turn save me a few bucks in the long run. I've never really had raisin French toast but it was really tasty. And it also came with a side of blueberry sauce that was outstanding. The cheese eggs was cooked perfectly as well as the turkey sausage. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is seeking to step outside the box with breakfast. I'm not a big fan of avocados and quite a few of the menu dishes actually contain avocado. Not a fan but that's just me I'm a picky eater. if you have a free morning or you don't want to pick up breakfast in a bag this place is definitely a place I would explore read more

The potatoes were seasoned nicely, the bacon was crisp, the eggs were fluffy (scrambled), and the avocado was creamy. Not to mention, their multigrain bread was amazing and fresh. First time here. Fast & friendly service in a relaxed & happy atmosphere. Ordered coffee & Super Seed Protein Pancakes to eat there and a Morning Meditation (juice) to go. Coffee was ok. Strong like I like but $2.89 when I drank about a half cup was not worth it. The pancakes were delicious, these are a thinner cake covered in berries, a berry compote, sliced bananas and drizzled with maple almond butter. I topped with some warm maple syrup and BAM! Amazing! The juice was good, but I'm not a fan of beet juice. I thought the other flavors might compliment or hide it but I must be really sensitive to beets caused it tasted like a wonderful juice with a cup of dirt added. Only reason why 4 stars and no 5 is I am a very picky coffee drinker, the coffee is good, but not 5 star good and I wish that they didn't use the small plastic creamers. Fresh half and half at the table tastes better and is better for the environment. They will give you fresh half and half (which is awesome) but you do have to ask for jt. FirstWatch is an under-rated restaurant in Lexington, probably because we don't expect anything fabulous from a chain business. If there was ever a reason to rethink those expectations, FirstWatch is definitely it. I have eaten at the War Admiral Way location many times, and I have never had an even slightly disappointing experience. The food is always fresh, and there are very many healthy choices on their menu. They have a way of elevating even the simplest dishes - avocado toast - to a level of tastiness that I fully appreciate. They have seasonal menu options, and will happily accommodate special requests. I always ask for my bacon to be cooked extra crispy, and you know what I get? Crispy bacon that isn't burned! I know, right? Don't even get me started on eggs cooked over medium, which seems to be an unattainable goal for many breakfast places in town. The only thing that keeps me from giving FirstWatch a 5-star review is that I am always surprised, and slightly disappointed, that the portions aren't larger. I'm sure they are perfectly adequate portions, but this is delicious food and I would love more of it! I have never had to wait for a table here, even on weekends, and the service staff is always pleasant and accommodating. While out in Hamburg yesterday, I decided to stop at this First Watch for lunch. I'd been to the Richmond Road location several times for breakfast, but this was my first visit to the Hamburg location. I had the roast beef sandwich (with Havarti, grilled onions, arugula and tomato). The waitress said it's a cold sandwich, just in case that was an issue, except it was grilled, so not cold. I liked the parmesan crusted sourdough bread, which added to the texture of the sandwich. (Note to self to do this at home.) The sandwich was OK. I think I would have left off the arugula, since it limped as a result of the grilling. The mixed greens (or soup, if you like) were just that, very lightly dressed (which is fine with me), but unimaginative. I prefer this location, as it seems brighter, and a patio is a plus for me. First watch Is kinda like Waffle House with a dress on that only comes out to party for a few hours a day. They have some pretty decent food and if you're looking for a choice of breakfast or lunch at anytime, at least during their limited open hours this is your place. They are open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch only so make sure you get there before they close for the day. I'm a huge fan of eggs but not of the sweet stuff but they have plenty of both. Food was great. Service was lacking. First the waitress brought me a sweet tea when I asked for unsweetened. Then she blames it on the kitchen mixing up the teas. If she knew that then why didn't she check it before she brought it out or ask me to confirm it was correct when she did bring it?? Next, they brought my husbands hot food and didn't bring his toast. I waited and waited and finally had to ask her to check on my Cobb salad. She brought it minus the toast slice. She did slightly redeem herself by asking if we wanted drinks to go. Two tacos for $5. The tacos felt like a deal, as they were generously filled and a good combination of flavors. The service was good. You are offered coffee upon sitting down. The restaurant was not busy early on a Sunday morning, although it looks like it gets busy late morning and afternoon on Sundays as the place was filling up fast when I left. Service: 4.5/5 stars. Seated promptly Saturday around 8:40am. Pleasant, friendly and prompt service from our server, Jillian. Food delivered within 10 minutes. The only minor "kink" is we were not asked if we wanted the toast buttered: the default option is buttered, which seems counter to the overall notion of a healthy menu. But Jillian was attentive in all other aspects. Food: 4/4.5 stars. Even though its main competitor, Wild Eggs, may have more egg and crepe dishes, First Watch has more healthy choices (lower calorie, lower carb breakfast and salad choices) and at a slightly lower prices in some breakfast place. You definitely get more food at Wild Eggs but the portion at First Watch is large enough not to leave hungry and not too overstuffed. This location has much better cooking and service than the location on Broadway. We are glad we tried it, despite our repeated disappointments at the Broadway location. It is a good alternative to Wild Eggs, at least for us. Now, if only someone could get the words to the President of the First Watch, please ask him/her to ask the manager at the Broadway location to copy what the manager here has done, or find another job. read more

I was staying across the street while visiting from out of town and we immediately saw this place for breakfast the first morning. I was blown away! Several breakfast favorites with a different spin to appeal to a perhaps younger more modern crowd. I had the Chickichanga which was fantastic and the Millionaires bacon which was the best bacon I've ever had in my life. The service was outstanding, water came in an old fashioned milk bottle, and everything was prepared with quality and care. I wish we could have came back, there was much more to try including a few home crafted lemonades and morning drinks! I would have ate there everyday of our trip if I wasn't with two 65 year olds that only want the plainest breakfasts on the cheap. I'm up for that too but not when traveling, we can get that at home but I can't get First Watch at home. read more

Placed a take out order upon returning home found order to be incorrect. Called to rectify the situation, drove back over and order was still incorrect. Manager was not willing to hear the reason the order was incorrect so I left. I WILL NOT RETURN And will tell everyone that I know in Lexington of my experience with this establishment. read more

One of my favorite restaurants for breakfasts and lunch/brunch! My all time favorite item on the menu is the Multi-grain pancakes! You can add things like bananas, granola, and even chocolate chips into them! Yummm! The coffee is amazing and they even have coffee mate flavored creamers (Hazelnut or Vanilla). No matter which first Watch I have been to (Florida Locations also) the service is always on top of there toes and the locations are always spotless! This is one of the better breakfast places in Lexington. But an experience today has really brought into question their standards and practices. The restaurant screwed up an order on three separate occasions. On their third attempt which still had issues arrived at the end of our meal, when we said our displeasure they then said we'll throw it away and try and remove it from the bill. Not only is that wasteful but the fact that they messed up, "may" result in removal from the bill is ridiculous. And that they didn't offer to bring a correct order free of charge doesn't coincide with the other first watch's in Lexington. The manager then stepped in and was rude and unhelpful, further the waitress argued about the order. For a normally very good restaurant this was unacceptable. read more

Well let me just say this visit was not planned. We stopped in a few weeks ago on a Sunday right before looking for homes to move to. We stopped in right after church which was our mistake. The wait was 23 minutes and was told 15-30. No issues there. The hostess was very nice and attentive. We got seated at a nice high top. We started to have an issue. No server for 11 minutes after being seated. That was frustrating. No one checked on us even though a waiter was serving a table right next to us in a different section. We got our order in and the server once she arrived was wonderful and friendly. This being our first time there we knew nothing of the menu or food we were about to get. I ordered the special of I think California Benedict. My gorgeous wife had an omelet. Now we waited 39 minutes from the time of the order to the food arriving at the table. I would have probably been ok accept my eggs B was served with a salad that had dressing all of the plate. I am not sure if you know what happens when you take a vinegrette and match it with the Benedict sauce. The taste honestly not pleasant. On their own, two separate dishes, they were delicious. I would have loved it if served on different plates. Now reading this you are probably like why is it five stars. Well lets just say I do not have a poker face. The Manager who was working his ass off stopped what he was doing to see what we needed and what he could do to help. I honestly was not very pleasant to him and I apologize for that. He handled it AWESOME. He was a true professional, explained everything and understood my side. I was shocked. I have been reviewing places for years and this was the first time EVER that a manager took care of me ON THE SPOT with out me having to say a word. With everything that happened, I will go back to this location. Even after all of this issues with the meal I actually walked away happy I spent 1 hr and 26 minutes in a location for breakfast. We've been to 2 locations in the last few days and they were both excellent. Food is fresh and delicious, servers are great. Thus far we've tried the doughnut holes, breakfast tacos, carrot cake pancake, morning veg omelet and the French toast. Everything has been wonderful.
