    Bacon and cheese grits sides

First time at this particular First Watch and we were not disappointed. Being in Lexington this morning we decided to drop in for a late breakfast. The coffee was hot and welcome. Hubby ordered The Works omelette with potatoes and a side of cheese grits, while I ordered the Morning Market Vegetable omelette with cheese grits and a side of bacon to share. Everything was delicious and I know that we will be back!

My friend and I met up for breakfast and decided to stop at this location. It was busier than we anticipated and there was a waiting list however we didn't wait long before we were seated. I went with the French Toast with berry compote and a side of bacon. She had eggs, toast, potatoes, sausage . The food is consistently good at both locations. As for the service our server was friendly and came back to check on us more than once . They do have plenty of seating including a large farm style table for larger parties .

Before hitting the road back home to Chicago, we stopped for breakfast. My sister laughed at me because I made a "happy plate". I ordered the Chickichanga and it was absolutely delicious (as you can tell by the plate). Food is farm to table which makes a difference in the taste. And Lauren, our server, was excellent. Her suggestions for food and drinks made everyone in our party please with their choices. If you get an opportunity to dine here, make sure you ask for her.

I've always enjoyed First Watch, even in other cities. I love the farmhouse vibe and there are tables for an intimate party of 2 and tables large enough to seat a big family! My staple order is the farmhouse. It is a bowl with potatoes, veggies, and goat cheese, all topped with an egg. Today, it came out extra hot, and the presentation was clean, appetizing, and just perfect! This dish is also very filling for me, especially with the toast and jelly. If you are here around the holidays, be sure to order the cinnamon donuts as an appetizer!! Warm cinnamon sugar with caramel dipping sauce? What more could you ask for! Our waitress was very friendly, and asked us for our drink order as soon as we sat down. We went on a Saturday around 2:15 PM and the restaurant was maybe only 20% full. I know it can get busy here, but if you go at the right time, you can get seated and be in and out in no time.

Good food. Always quite busy for breakfast and brunch. Food is delicious but takes awhile to get. One of the few breakfast places in town that will make poached eggs! A good place to grab some breakfast before an afternoon out with good veggie options and healthier options.

First Watch is really overrated to me, especially because you can expect to wait for 45 minutes to get a table on the weekend. The food is decent, but I always leave feeling like I could've made the same thing at home for less than a quarter of the price. But it still serves a purpose for breakfast/brunch food if you don't want to prepare it yourself. I signed up for Sun e-club to get coupons. I rarely come here without a coupon. Last time I visited I tried two of the special menu items. My friend and I shared the beet hummus toast and the chicken burrito bowl. Both were tasty. I like that they have seasonal offerings to kind of change up the menu a bit.

First Watch has delicious food and excellent customer service in a cool and relaxed atmosphere. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need.

Another first watch in Lexington. You can get breakfast and lunch. I ordered the trifecta with a waffle. The butter never melted on my waffle. The bacon was less than crispy and the over medium eggs were less than done. (I prefer a cooked white and runny yellow) Our server attempted to fix it by recreating the plate, but same issue with the waffle. Clearly the butter is just too cold. The server brought me a carrot cake muffins. It made the breakfast redeeming.

    Overcooked Eggs Benedict :(

TLDR: look for another place to eat. The service is super slow, but make no mistakes, the food is the reason for 1 star. Tip: If you are new to Lexington, stay away from crowded Nicholasvile rd. The quality of food prep often slides downhill, but businesses here can remain open for years, due to the constant foot traffic near the mall. Now to the details (another example of the trend): We had visited this place many times since the opening and unfortunately, the quality of food and service went down substantially. Two of us came during the lunch time. We got a veggie sandwich, eggs benedict an a cup of the Italian Wedding soup of the day. 1. It took very long to get an order ready. 30 min between the order is taken and the moment we got the plates. Waited another 20 min after being seated to place an order. However we knew this place has slow service, so we were prepared. 2. Italian Wedding soup (honestly used to be our favorite) was pure salt this time. Mind blowing how one can ruin a soup that is being served for a few years now. (Have they lost all of the people who knew what they were doing?) 3. The veggie sandwich has had shitake mashrooms substituted with the portobello. Without a note. 4. The eggs benedict was overcooked (ruined) to where the eggs yolks weren't runny anymore. Kinda defeats the point of the whole dish. Please take a look at the picture. To conclude - it was the worst visit to the First Watch. We have left a nice tip and couldn't bring all the issues up with the teen girl who was our waiter. She was there for just 1 week and was trying hard. Frankly our issues were with the kitchen. We understand people are dependent on tips for income. I wish the owner would also understand they need to hire someone other than a teen (at a first glance they all looked about 16 y.o.) to run this place. You cant just rely on being at a busy location next to a Fayette mall. PS: I have shared my experience with the First Watch via a link theny sent after our visit.

He's from this general area and recommended this spot, among a few others. I picked it because I liked the vibe, which I stand by in hindsight. Last Thursday was an atrocious weather day, raining for most of the time including the entire morning as we drove up to Lexington from Irvine. Since we'd never been over here, Josie's wasn't necessarily easy to spot apart from the other nearby businesses. It WAS very obviously in this larger strip mall situation (which doesn't seem like exactly the right term, but it's definitely in a building with a bunch of other stores), though we had to walk around almost the entire perimeter from our parking spot on Euclid to find it. Once we did, smooth sailing. Despite the fact that it was a weekday, Josie's was pretty busy when we walked in around 10ish. We WERE heading toward MDW, which could have been a factor, but this seems to be a pretty popular establishment regardless. It feels pretty new - this isn't like an old school greasy spoon diner type of situation - with some interesting artwork on the walls, and booths, regular tables and counter stools potentially available. Our colleague was already there and had secured a booth towards the back closer to the bathrooms, which allowed for some fun viewpoints of most of the restaurant. We were already a few days into our debauchery of a road trip, so I kept it pretty well-behaved - I opted for waffles with strawberries. That's it. The food came very quickly, as did the requested coffee, which might have ultimately been more important than the aforementioned waffles in the grand scheme of things. I honestly don't have a lot to say about them other than that they were perfectly fine waffles. The strawberries were fresh, the waffles themselves were cooked through but not too crispy, and that was that. I think it's a little hard to mess up something this basic, and thankfully all was well. The service was excellent throughout and even though I didn't foot any part of the bill (a thank you to our Kentucky colleague), the prices seemed very reasonable to me - though I also have a completely distorted perspective given that most of my consumerism takes place in the NYC area. No issues here; didn't see a ton of reasons to wander back into Lexington unless somehow Coach Cal comes back to coach the Cats and I miraculously score tickets to something at Rupp, but this was a nice little spot.
