Went to the Utah location and my food was amazing, so when I saw a location in Kentucky right next to my hotel I got excited. I ordered the elevated egg sandwich on whole wheat bread and it tasted sour, and after eating it I felt very nauseous. Service was horrible with [Ari] as our server. After being seated we waited 10+ minutes to even be greeted. After giving her our drink order- it took 8-10 minutes to get our drinks. When our food came out, other servers brought it out and ari never came back to make sure we had everything. Unfortunately, my waffle was WAY overdone and super crispy.. couldn't put a fork in it. While waiting for ari to come back and check on us make sure we got everything and everything tasted good, my family finished their food. My daughter even spilled a drink and we had no napkins to clean up so my boyfriend had to go in to get napkins. I finally went in to ask for another waffle. Which came out way undercooked. I spoke to the manager who seemed the least bit of concerned about the horrible service. She even said she would take the waffle off but it was a combo so i wasn't worried about getting a discount.. i just wanted a waffle cooked as good as they usually ALWAYS ARE. this is our second bad experience here as far as service but the food is always great. Our first visit to the new location off Nicholasville Rd. We arrived about 10:45 am on a Saturday and were told there would be a 25 minute wait. Don't forget to bring your cell phone when you come because they will text you when your table is ready ( I like this better than carrying around a buzzer). We checked out the menu while we waited, and I will say they do have a lot of choices. My husband decided on The Works omelet and a side of bacon, and he enjoyed it. I had the Chickichanga, which had chicken, chorizo, egg, and avocado wrapped inside a flour tortilla and served with sour cream. I expected Mexican flavors, but it more resembled a chicken pot pie wrapped in a tortilla. Probably not what I would order next time. The seasoned potatoes and fruit which came with my entree were both very good. We also shared some biscuits and gravy, which we both agreed we would not order again, and coffee, which we would also not order again (we didn't like the taste, sort of bitter or burnt or something). I had to ask two waitresses before I could get a refill on my water, but I will say they were pretty busy. Overall, I still think this is a good choice for breakfast. read more

This spot came highly recommended by some coworkers. So I was super excited to give it a try. Overall it was decent. They offer a lot of "farm to table" type of food and a few craft drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic). They take classic brunch items and put a bit of a modern touch to them. I suggest making a reservation on a weekend because they are pretty busy. Both times I have been to first watch the service was mediocre. First time check was brought before we could order a second round of drinks so we just went else where. Second time we saw the server only a few times. Go for the food, not the service. read more

The kids meal that we had here was good and the server Emily was excellent. We were told that we couldn't eat here on the patio with our dog and so my granddaughter and I went inside, leaving one person in our party outside with the dog. However, he wasn't allowed to sit on the side of the restaurant (not near the front) on a bench with the dog on a leash - he was told to leave the property by the manager, who said it's against the law to have a dog on the premises. We have eaten outside at several other restaurants in Lexington with our dog, and we have eaten at other First Watch restaurants in other states with him and other dogs. Meaning I'm used to ihop and Denny's having those big platters that you can get like a big huge breakfast. There's is more on the healthy side. Which is totally cool. As always if you are looking for a meal out on the healthy side this is my go to place. My only complaint is they aren't open for dinner. I went to this particular location just as restaurants were opening from COVID-19 closures. The young wait staff commonly wore their masks below their noses and service was somewhat slow. First time at First Watch. We've eaten breakfast at numerous local breakfast sites, and without any doubt, this was the best. My friend ordered the frittata, which was like an omelette with all sorts of toppings. It was really fun watching his face smile as he discovered the kale, the mushrooms, and the dried tomatoes. My plain pancake was slightly sweet and just a bit crispy -- and DELICIOUS. The syrup was warmed which was a nice touch. The scrambled eggs had great flavor -- it's almost as if cage-free eggs DO taste better. Our server, DeLaney, was top notch. She checked back with us a couple of times, answered all sorts of questions we had, and really deserved a great tip (I generally tip 20%, more for better service). Unfortunately the table behind us, party of four, was there for over two hours, and left DeLaney a $2.00 (yes, TWO dollars) tip -- I felt so badly for her, I made up the difference! Now I just hope the restaurant doesn't require servers to pool all their tips. We WILL be back. read more

We are excited to have this location so close to home. I'm a huge fan of all of the juice blends and I have found all of the egg dishes and sandwiches to be delicious. She brought out one drink at a time, so we received one coffee, then one water, then later the other water??? I had to request butter multiple times. I just left this first watched over on Reynolds location, and upon entering, I was not spoken to him. We were said at the table we waited a good five minutes before anyone came over and when someone did come over it was an hour waitress as she said, our waitress would be right with us. When I Rachel came over, we didn't get her name. She just asked us what we ready to order. We just had some coffee told her we needed a few minutes. She came back again five minutes later tonight he were in here almost 15 minutes and you know we only get you know if some coffee we're looking at the menu and what not so we decided we weren't gonna eat here. The service was not that friendly not that welcoming and so we decided to go ahead and leave upon leaving when we were going to leave we gave the receipt to the guy at the front at the checkout and we didn't know the waitresses name, so how are we gonna tip or he didn't ask about a tip for her so I had to go back and find her back by the kitchen. Ask her her name and give her a tip. We bought some coffee cause I have gray coffee. We bought some ground coffee to take them with us, but this will be our last visit at the Reynolds location. I've been to first Watch multiple times and have very much enjoyed it. I went with my girlfriend on a Saturday Morning and it was very busy so I understand they were swamped so it was a hard day for them. I did have a few problems though, our waitress came across friendly at first but she didn't tell us her name. As our meal progressed she seemed to have no interest in us but was very flirty with the table next to us (we could hear the whole conversation). I have a pretty bad dairy allergy and asked for no dairy and told them it was a very sensitive allergy. When I got my food our waitress asked us how it was before I had taken a bite. After a few bites I noticed cheese in my omelette but our waitress never came back so I spent most of my time scraping the cheese out. Very disappointed in the service we received. Reminds me of a classy chic Cracker Barrel in terms of interior design. The menu is splendid. Many options to choose from and everything I've gotten is delightful. My First visit to First Watch on Reynolds road in Lexington was a let down to put it nicely. Service was average, my coffee mug was dirty with lipstick stains on it. Portions were pitiful, my single sausage link literally rolled off the plate as the server placed my "so called" meal in front of me. We went to First Watch today with several friends. I ordered third; a half salad and soup. After I ordered, I noticed the others were ordering breakfast food, so I asked the server if I could change from my half-salad to something else. She looked at me and signaled she'd help me in a minute; she continued to take orders for the other 6 people. After that, she looked at me and told me my order was in; did I wish to ADD to it? Too late to change! She was still at my table. I said, "Fine! But I will be on Yelp!" She turned and walked off. The manager later came over because another of our party complained about this; he , too, was very noncompliant. I've never heard of a restaurant having a server still at a table, say that they cannot change an order. Even if it had been after, my order was half a salad; wouldn't it have been good business to let me switch? Also, make sure to order ice if you ask for water. They brought warm glasses and bottles of chilled water, no ice, in European fashion. We all wanted more ice throughout the meal but were hesitant to ask ; we did ask once, and the server brought a bottle of ice, but after we all shared it, it wasn't enough. The manager did come over later and take my meal off, however; I would rather have ordered something else as I had asked. I doubt I will return! read more

I will not be coming back to this location. If I could give zero stars, I would. My party of 6 people made a reservation (as we were TOLD to do by the hostess on the phone) and our reservation was not upheld. When we arrived, we were told that our table was given to someone else (which was a walk in party), even though we showed up 10 minutes before our reservation. When we asked for an estimated time to be seated, the rude hostess told us that she did not know. It is her job to know. We waited around for five minutes, called a different location, and made a reservation. When my friend NICELY told the hostess that we were leaving she said, "awesome" with an incredible attitude. We also called the manager to complain, and he also had a bit of an attitude. If you're looking to go to First Watch, I recommend the South Broadway location. We were seated immediately, and they actually held our reservation, since that is the whole point of a reservation. You better believe I will be telling everyone I know about this experience. read more
