Over easy eggs, toast, bacon
Kriss W.

I was in the mood for over easy eggs and there really aren't too many places that do that well, but most every WH does. I grabbed a newspaper and grabbed a seat. I was greeted immediately and had a drink and I looked at the menu. Food came out fast and hot. Very pleased with this trip in the WH Land.

Um yeah what can I say about my first Waffle House experience and in KY no less. We were traveling to Hilton Head, SC starting at 3 in the morning so by the time we got to KY we were pretty hungry for some breakfast. The others have been to locations all over so I was trusting them. I couldn't believe how packed it was, I mean it was a small dinner but we ended up waiting 20 minutes, so by then I would've eaten anything. First I will say that as you can imagine they aren't the cleanest places or at least mine wasn't. I nice layer of grease over everything, I got scolded for running and sliding on the floors. I will say the food was fast and about as edible as it could be, the kind of food that sticks to your ribs and hangs out for awhile. I will say they do know how to make biscuits and gravy though. The waitress was really nice especially serving 9 of us. Some down home southern kindness always hits the spot. Of course we all got those "them city folks" stares but people were still polite.

This 24 hr opened place has so much more than waffles. They have a variety in their menu, so you have many options to choose. Its not excellent, but for the price is good. By far the absolute best inexpensive place to get a wonderful breakfast. Convenient to our hotel. Food was good and service friendly .

workers fighting

super ghetto! the workers were fighting the entire time we were there! one of them threw a drink and it hit me in the head!! it smelled like pee and vomit, the tables were NOT cleaned and it was very scary in there.

Been a long time waffle house customer and the service has gone down the tubes. I know I'm expecting a lot to think you should be treated with respect, have your food come to your table correct and your bill actually be correct on a consistent basis and a server who doesn't want to curse you. The majority but not all of the employees are burnouts and current pill heads. Hate to post this but tired of the poor service and bad attitudes. There are other places to get food and not have to deal with the drama the WH seems to have!

Yummmmmm!!!

Food is ok. Service was good. Prices are moderate. They're open 24 hours. Located near the Paris Pike exit off us route 75/64.

Running our monthly errands in Lexington on a Friday night before a forecasted winter storm,…read moreeverywhere we went was crowded! We usually eat at a different Ramsey's location, but this was closer to where we were. The atmosphere, service, and food were just as good as the other locations we've visited so we were not disappointed! We had a short wait for a table when we arrived, and I saw a table of women enjoying the espresso martini that I ended up ordering and enjoying. After starting with the Loaded House Salad with blue cheese dressing, the chicken livers were calling my name, along with mashed potatoes & gravy, with green beans. Hubby also had the Loaded House Salad, but with ranch dressing, fried chicken breasts, macaroni & cheese, green beans, and a corn stick. They were out of the sugar free peach pie so we skipped dessert, but we both brought home leftovers to enjoy for lunch on Saturday. Ironically our server Hannah is usually at the location we visit most frequently, so we will look for her the next time we're in that neighborhood.

I finally ordered it tonight and I have to say that it is my new favorite sandwich anywhere. I can't wait to get it again! I can't believe that I have never tried this and I didn't know what I was missing! The Hot Mari is the most delicious thinly sliced beef tenderloin that has been marinated in a salty and slightly sweet marinade. I highly recommend it!

Lunch today was a Ted's Montana Grill located in Hamburg Pavilion in Lexington…read more We both had the Bison Mushroom and Swiss burger. The burger was very juicy and flavorful. It came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion as well as sour cream. Personally, Im just a traditional mushroom and Swiss guy, but I did add the pickles. Nothing against adding lettuce and tomato, but its just not for me on a mushroom swiss (a regular burger is a different story!) The bison meat had a slightly different taste and I really loved the flavor of it. Probably one of the juiciest burgers that I have had in a while, so I am going to attribute that to the bison meat. For a limited time, they have fried corn as a side item. The corn was bi-color and had a rich buttery flavor with parmesan cheese and a slight amount of spice with cayenne pepper and jalapeño cooked in it. If you like fried corn (who doesnt?), then this is for you! I could have had another side or two of that delicious corn! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. She had a great knowledge of the menu. The price was good for a true gourmet burger. Just remember this is a quality bison burger, so the price will be reflective of that quality. The beef burger is $21.50, and the Bison burger was $23.75 -- including one side item. But we'll worth the experience. If they dont have the corn, try thier onion rings. They looked delicious!

Definitely a Lexington favorite! The food is also delicious. Bison burgers are my go to but there's…read morelots of equally delicious choices of beef, poultry, and fish. BTW: The salt pickles served to each table are AMAZING! You'll find friendly service even when it's busy (which is typical especially weekends); reservations are available and recommended. It was chilly outside so it was a nice surprise when the young lady asked if we wanted to sit by the fireplace. Yes, please!! It was so comfy and warm right there. Our waitress came right over and was so sweet and attentive. I ordered their morning glory burger with the salsa on the side and a salad, and the hubby ordered a cheeseburger with fries. The wait was short and the food was excellent! They forgot to put the salsa on the side for my burger, but it was very good anyway. I'm really starting to enjoy burgers with eggs on them. The salad was enormous! I thought they made a mistake and brought me a $10.00 salad, but no. It was so huge I couldn't finish it, which was a shame because it was so delicious. My hubby said that his was the best burger he's had in a very long time. We were able to leave quickly after finishing our meal since the waitresses carry portable card readers with them and they check you out right at the table which is so very convenient. When we're back next year for Scarefest we will keep Drake's on our radar!

Southern Cookhouse features scratch-made dishes using local ingredients, a variety of burgers, pizzas, and classic Southern entrees. I started with the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo because I love soup and all soup-adjacent things. The gumbo had a good, rich flavor from the roux, with subtle heat and a sweet finish. The chicken had a nice flavor, a little saltiness, and it was tender. The Andouille sausage was cooked well and rounded out the flavor profile. The tomatoes and scallions added brightness and crunch. The rice had a few hard pieces, but overall it was good. I do want to mention that I did find a few chicken bones in the dish, just so people are aware. My wife tried the Dunwoody Cobb, made with Grilled chicken breast, boiled eggs, bacon, avocado, tomato, and blue cheese crumbles, with spring mix tossed in Dijon vinaigrette. The lettuce was crunchy and fresh. The bacon had a great salt level, crunch, and crispiness. The avocado added a creamy richness to each bite, while the tomato's acidity cut through the Dijon mustard's sweet and bitter notes. The star of the show was the salty, nutty, creamy blue cheese crumbles, which meshed well with all the other components. The chicken was cooked well and had good flavor, but it was dry. While I avoided it, my wife said the boiled egg was well-cooked and added it to the salad. I had the Nashville Hot chicken, which comes with spicy pickles, coleslaw & mayo on slider rolls with potato salad. The potato salad was mustard-and-mayo-based. The potatoes were soft but still offered some texture. The mustard and mayo balanced each other and added flavor. There were eggs in the potato salad, but they blended into the background and did not stand out. The sweet pickle relish added crunch and texture without being overly sweet. I'm not sure if it was made in-house or from a container; it was good nonetheless. The slider was fresh, soft, and nicely toasted. The slaw was medium-chopped, with a great mayo ratio and a good sweetness, tasting fresh, crunchy, and creamy without being so rich as to drown out the vegetables or the chicken. The pickle was not spicy, but a thick-cut bread-and-butter type with a little sweetness and a velvety, buttery flavor. The chicken was juicy, tender, and cooked well. The Nashville-style spices were mild to medium, just enough to know it was there but not so overpowering that it was all you tasted. It was not overly oily either, which often plagues sandwiches of this type. The entire sandwich worked well together. Southern Cookhouse has a full menu, but some items do rotate or are seasonal. The bar is fully stocked, offering draft beer, tea, and soft drinks. They offer counter ordering, and the staff is very friendly. The Fat Man says that Southern Cookhouse & Bar is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
