I have been to other first watches around Miami several times and always enjoyed the food and service, but this was a disappointment on many levels. We had a group of 9 elderly women today, we let them know we were coming days ahead of time and got on the wait list that morning. . We arrived at 11:20 for our 11:30 table. At 11:40 we said we'd take the outdoor table since there was no seating for us inside in sight. At 11:45 we were seated. Got water by 11:50 and we told the waitress we were ready to Order. She disappeared for so Long we had to go looking for her. Our orders were placed after noon but then slowly about 12:30 we got only 2 plates at a time about every 5-10 minutes. The last order of food for our table came out as we were all almost finished at 12:50 and an order of the bacon arrived so late she took it to go. Unacceptable. The waitress said the kitchen was having a bad day and did apologize, but we were all very disappointed on the very slow service, time for each of us to get our dishes.... management could have at least come out to explain for the delays or try and make things right. Also disappointing was that 8 out of 9 of us said we wouldn't order that same dish again ranging from breakfast tacos to the salmon frittata to the tomato basil soup. First watch...... I know you can do better in service and food. Sorry today was so off for you. Bottom line, not good for large groups , and not so good for foodies who can make a better soup or breakfast tacos at home or anyone who wants good service. Management , shame on you for not being on top of things and at least addressing your guests and what was happening during our visit. read more

The new spring menu is available as of today! Another great breakfast at First Watch in Kendall. Janelle, our server, was attentive and very sweet. I forgot to take a picture of the new cornbread dish but it's definitely worth a try! I had the new B.E.C. sandwich (sub side greens for million dollar potatoes, of course) and my boyfriend had the new SoCal Breakfast Hash, both were fantastic. Our server's (Christopher) game was really off today. We sat outside for what seemed a long time. I asked for our server, since one had not yet greeted us. When he arrived, instead of what would have been a reset, "I'm sorry", he proceeded to explain that sometimes he can't see people at this table. Our order was really simple (breakfast sandwich) and came back wrong. Our ask for plenty of water and extra napkins seemed to be ignored multiple times; as he prioritized clearing a nearby table. It was my first time here and I'm so glad we have a new breakfast place in Kendall! I went on a Saturday and it was packed! About an hour wait time for 2 people but the host checked on us and made sure we knew about checking the coffee bar in case open seating came up. They have both indoor and outdoor seating in a very open and well lit space. We were in luck after about 25 minutes and headed to the bar. Our server was full of energy and kindness. He gave us all of the poplar recommendations and we decided to start with the Morning Meditation. This was a fresh juice made with orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, agave nectar, and beet...sooo yummy! Next we shared the Tri-fecta, which was 2 eggs, your choice of meat (we had turkey sausage), and either pancakes or waffle. Some it was our first time, we went with the Ricotta Lemon Pancakes and they did not disappoint! Last up, we had the Elevated Egg Sandwich. We replaced the bacon with chicken sausage and it was delicious. Best part were the fresh season potato's on the side. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The flavor was perfect. We left satisfied and wanting to come back and try some more... there is a Chickichanga that I'm coming back for next! Came on opening weekend and it was a long wait but our server was super nice she gave us muffins while we waited for our food which took 30-40 mins to arrive. I ordered a skillet hash that was supposed to have veggies in it and what was supposed to be zucchini was a tiny green skin and nothing else. They should call this dish breakfast potato skillet with egg and sprinkled veggies. The amount of potatoes could feed 3-4ppl easily. The quality has changed in a year. Such a disappointing experience! Our family went for brunch and from the beginning we asked for mimosas and were told we had to wait until 1 pm. (I find that ridiculous since we are not in the bible belt) It was 12:35 so we told our server to bring it then. Too bad she was so incompetent she never did. That and the fact that we had to wait 20 minutes for water (after we asked twice) our food came in stages ridiculous! I got served first, my eggs Benedict were overly runny and with almost no sauce. I waited patiently for the rest of my family's food to arrive along with the juices we had ordered. 10 minutes later they brought out 3 more plates. Still no juices and no food for my daughter in law. We had to flag down our server and that's when she brought the juices and asked my daughter in law what she had ordered. 10 minutes + later a server brought her food one egg Benedict was over done (the yolk was hard) and the other one was fine. How do you mess that up???? Our waiter NEVER passed by to ask how we were doing (she only had 3 tables to wait on) After we were all done she passed couldn't find the ticket and we had to wait another 5 minutes for her to come back with it. My husband being the nice guy he is left her a tip. I wouldn't have left anything. My daughter in law talked to the manager. He was nice and said he was sorry to hear that but didn't look shocked so I'm guessing it's standard of this waitress because when we told him maybe she needed a smaller section he told us she only had 3 tables. The wait was about 30 minutes which was not that bad considering the place recently opened in Pinecrest. Service was slow and kitchen was short staffed. They failed the restaurant first rule of hot food hot. By the time I got my eggs they were stone cold. Their twist on the recipe was instead of cooked Canadian ham was shaved cold cut ham. I wish I would have taken pictures of our food. We had Million Dollar Bacon, Bacon Cheddar Cornbread, Farm House Hash and Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos. Every item was served at room temperature or below. The bacon was limp, chewy and extremely greasy. The dollop of butter added to the cornbread didn't even melt at all because the cornbread was room temperature and stale. The avocado's in the hash were brown. The tacos were so unappetizing to even look at. The eggs, cheese and chicken were a congealed room temperature blob. We ate what we could because we were hungry, but after hearing rave reviews I would not recommend. Turns out all the reviews I heard were for the location in Pinecrest, Doral and up by Aventura. No response. Decided to get back in line after gym, checked in at 10:42. Was told it would be 40 minutes. Ok. Walked around plaza, checked in again after an hour, she stated that due to check ins and people that were walk ins, our place had been set back... it would be another 40 minutes. Ummm. Not sure where in Brickell you guys think you're located for this long of wait. A reservation system would be better suited, or not take walkins. Way too bougie for Kendall. By the time we had received themessage at 1215 or so, we had eaten at JamRock. So had others. So, word to the wise... don't go hungry. Look at the line. This may have been our first time being here but it won't be the last. We went around 1230pm, it wasn't very busy on a weekday and not too noisy. There are some booths but mostly tables. There is a small bar area where you could also be seated. We were greeted promptly but the hostess, seated and very quickly Lidia, our waitress appeared and introduced herself. She was both friendly and very helpful in answering our questions. The coffee has no price on the menu (the pot was $3) and for American coffee (which we normally don't drink) it was okay. The Pomegranite Sunrise was good if you like a sweeter drink. One of us had the BLTE (a BLT with an egg) which was really, really good, the potatoes on the side were a bit salty for us because we don't use a lot of salt at home. The pumpkin spice pancake was pleasant enough but without egg in the batter pancakes fall apart fairly easily. I appreciated the warmed syrup served with it. They allowed me to substitute pork sausage for the chicken sausage and there were two very good sized links, and not full of fat. There are so many other appealing things on the menu we want to try so we'll go back. I'd give Lidia more than five stars if I could for being so wonderful. read more

Worst experience ever. For an establishment that practically just opened you will think service will be better. When we arrived the host informed us that it will be a 30 minute wait ( which it was fine with us ) . Well 50 minutes later I walked up to ask and was told that they were waiting for two big parties and if they didn't show we will be 6 in line . ( unacceptable since we were never told that was the case when we first walked in) Once seated another 30 minutes later we had to ask for water because not even one server came to our table . After ordering , the food came cold !! And the server never came to our table. I really don't like writing reviews but honestly I had higher expectations. Today I went to the First Watch on Kendall and 125th in Miami. My daughter had made reservations online so when I got there, they gave us a table all the way in the back under the air vent. It was very cold at that table so l asked to please seat us somewhere else. The girl I spoke to told me she would have to put us at the bottom of the list again because she had given me a seat and I didn't want it. I told her "oh no. My daughter made this reservation two hours ago and I can't sit under that vent because I wouldn't be comfortable and enjoy my lunch at First Watch. " she told me" This is my job and I don't like the way you spoke to me." Then she walked away and wouldn't help us. The other girl, who was wonderful, gave us another table. The service was also wonderful. I wasn't going to let one person ruin my family time with my daughter and grandsons but some people should not be working in a customer- related job if they cannot be cordial. We had a good breakfast at the IHOP in Kendall this morning with my husband. We arrived around 10:00 a.m. and were greeted by a friendly host who quickly seated us. Our waitress, Fabi, was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and prompt with our coffee and order. We shared a tasty breakfast that came with a side of pancakes. Everything was fresh and enjoyable, and our food arrived quickly. We also ordered a side of whole wheat toast, which was a nice addition. The total came to $26 plus tip, which felt fair compared to other restaurants in the area, and for a Sunday breakfast, it was perfectly reasonable. As we were leaving around 11:00, we noticed the restaurant started to get very crowded, which speaks to the quality of service and food.
