This is a great restaurant! The ambiance is really nice. From the moment we arrived till we left, everything was great! We were seated promptly and our server brought us some water and gave us a minute to look at the menu. I had the eggs Benedict with potatoes and it was tasty. The rest of the entrees looked good too. This is the old Burger Bob's. They completely gutted it and redid the place. Looks amazing inside. The servers are all so friendly and accommodating. Belen took care of us and she was the best! I had the clam chowder soup of the day and it was fabulous. The roux was delightful with chunksof clam. Simply awesome. The smash burger was really tasty but I noticed they changed the old recipe on the French fries. They used to have really good crispy fries and now they have the breaded fries. Not a fan. I live in Atlanta Georgia but every time I visit CORAL GABLES then we always go to parties bistro for breakfast or for lunch. Its previous name was Burger Bob's. My brother, Frank, was within walking distance of the restaurant and he ate lunch there almost every day of the week. When Burger Bob's closed it was later reopened as Birdie Bistro. Chef Rita Tennyson manages the restaurant, and all of the food is excellent. It's located at the Granada golf course which makes for a beautiful setting. Rita also has a catering business which I would also highly recommend. If you are having a large party, then you should absolutely call her and see about the amazing dishes that she can create for your guests. I guarantee that you will thank me for this recommendation. :-) read more

This is such a friendly restaurant! Everyone is so nice, the service was great and the breakfast menu was solid! We loved the eggs, sausage, bacon and fruit- the pancakes flavor was delicious but the pancake didn't have "edges". We love a butter crispy edge and their pancakes don't really that that, they're more spongy. The coffee was fantastic especially the caramel iced coffee! read more

If I could give it less than one Star I would. They are supposed to close at 7:00pm but if you show up at 6:35pm for example they will tell you the kitchen is closed and won't serve you. That happened to me a couple of times as one of these times I showed up at 6:40pm and another at 6:32pm. Both times I was told the kitchen was closed so they were no longer serving food. As I was leaving some other people were coming in (they looked like they were finished playing golf) I was walking out and I told them that the restaurant was closed and they told me no they hours said 7:00 and I told them that I was just turned away as they told me the kitchen was closed. At first they did not believe them but I waited a couple of seconds and they came out very angry and told me I was right. They had friend from out of town, they told me that this was the last time they were going to golf there. I have also had many friends have the same experience and they have also stopped golfing there because of the restaurant. I do not recommend going there in the evening. read more

Not sure what happened but took over 30 min to be served water (only after going inside to follow up) and well over an hour after finally being helped for our order for a hot dog and BLT. I realize they were busy but server needs to be more attentive and or follow up with customers. read more

My wife and I had lunch and we were disappointed. First it has a great new look but beyond that it becomes disappointing. We were approached right away and given menus. From there everything slowed down. There was only three tables including us. Once we finally ordered BLT, and the Turkey Club. It took approximately 20 minutes to receive our food order. Once the food arrived I almost laughed seriously over priced for what we received. I was going to say something however my wife said we just won't go back. If you are going to be a diner then do it right, confert food and large orders not overpriced little sandwiches. Good luck. read more

Went for the first time the other day for breakfast and ordered the birdie sandwich, the eggs were made to perfection and the croissant was good quality! Used to frequent Burger Bobs (my husband grew up close by) and missed it greatly when it closed. When I heard Rita was reopening, one of the original chefs I knew and loved from back in the day, I was so excited to come and try their burgers. She won an award at the South Beach food and wine festival in 2022 for best burger. Today, I had the pleasure of trying that burger and, yesterday after golf, I had the classic burger. It brought me back to the memories I had as a kid. It is beautiful and revamped, but it still the same vibe and the homey feel hasn't changed. Come one, come all and enjoy. Growing up I went to Burger Bobs regularly. After the opening of Birdie Bistro I was excited to try the menu. As I entered the restaurant I wasn't greeted by a single employee, neither were any of the other patrons that entered after me. I was handed a menu and the server gave neither her name or a welcome. I originally ordered the famous chili, none left, asked what the soup of the day was, none left. Mind you this is at 11:30 am, they close at 7 pm... I settled for a $15 smash burger instead, one that was worth at least $5 more than I would have paid normally. Not to mention, it was a squished double patty, not a smash burger. The side salad was doused in dressing aswell, to a nearly inedible level of sugar raspberry dressing. Overall, last and only time dining here. read more

Birdie Bistro recently opened in the old Burger Bob's location on the Granada Golf Course. Burger Bob's was a Gables neighborhood staple. A causal family diner with weak service but a feel good menu that included delicious burgers, chili and fries. While the community was saddened by Bob's retirement, they were enthusiastic about the renovations (which took 2 years to complete) and the fact that the new operator, Rita, would conserve the diner's history since she worked there for almost 30 years. The menu is very different from the low price, basic menu of the past. It is more expensive but reasonable; a modern take with better options, while conserving some of Bob's classics. Good idea. I was excited to visit today but unfortunately was disappointed. First, it no longer resembles a diner. It is updated but bland and in no way brings you back to that neighborhood diner feel. Second, the service was bad from the start. I was happy to see it was not full and found a table right away. The server dropped by and told me she would get a menu. Then I waited and waited and waited. She disappeared and never came back until I left, when she followed me outside to offer me a menu. it is a shame because our community is rooting for them to succeed. We want to go back and relax on the golf course with our burger and fries but struggling from the start, just to get a menu, sends an ominous message; new menu, tables and chairs but still bad, amateur service. There are too many excellent options in the Gables and while we are eager to return "home", home needs to be a place where we are appreciated, not ignored. read more

My husband and I have lived in this "hood" for 50 years, and frequented Burger Bob's for all those years. Missed it while it was closed but (not unlike Bob, and us) the place had aged and was in great need of an overhaul. The space is a bit larger, and CLEAN; decor is pleasing. The menu is changed, too--with some more health-conscious entrees. Rita and her team prepare excellent dishes, at BB and at special events. So many memories and meetings at this venue; this morning it was abuzz -- no table empty. It was great to see so many familiar faces, friends, neighbors. Will update this review to a 5 after they've had more than one week since opening, until they get into full swing to meet the demand. read more

Smash burger it's definitely not! Two small perfectly round and clearly frozen patties that taste exactly like bad frozen patties. No meat is smashed, no grilled onions, nothing at all like a classic smash burger. read more

Unfortunately the restaurant is constantly understaffed, the service is below par and the food is underwhelming. Please please please bring in a GM who knows how to run a restaurant! Great have this place back and serving great food for pre or post round meal. I loved burger bobs as a long time Granada patron but let's face it, it was a dump. This is a great upgrade and the food has been tasty and still reasonably priced. Great to have this space open again. read more
