This was a great place to stop by with some friends from school and grab a much needed break for lunch. The service was great and the food was delicious. Coupled only buy a nice booth and window view on a beautiful day. Though there are a lot of breakfast spots in the air to choose from, first watch on Zelda had ample parking and was in a nice neighborhood . What I enjoyed about this particular outing was the friendliness of the staff despite a shift turnover I'm talking everyone from the front of house to the bus to the waiter, etc. no matter who our table interacted with no one missed a beat or skipped out on awesome customer service. That extra southern touch of hospitality earned this place it's fifth star

    BLT Eggs Benedict

Server was excellent, wait time minimal for a Saturday morning. I ordered the BLT eggs Benedict, husband ordered the skillet hash and a pancake. His food came out first looking and smelling amazing. About 10 minutes later mine arrived. Beautiful presentation! I cut into the egg and the most perfect runny poached egg spilled over my plate. Took that first bite with my eyes closed...ice cold. Wonderful server apologizes profusely. New order arrives 15 minutes later, steam rising from the plate. First cut, hard boiled eggs. I lost my appetite. The kind server removed the charge and the manager offered me a sandwich. My husband's food was perfect.

In the local area for a 3 week training course at Maxwell Air Force Base. I perused Yelp for a good breakfast restaurant in the local Montgomery area. First Watch had generally decent reviews so I opted to venture out and try them. Upon arrival, I was quickly assisted by the host who escorted me to a table. The dining area is very clean and decorated well. JC was my waiter he was very kind and quickly brought water and coffee. I ordered the Healthy Turkey omelette with fruit cup not the side. The coffee was amazing, although it's an extra $4. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it tasted good. The only issue I had was that it was super salty, likely due to the feta cheese and sliced deli turkey meat they used. I would suggest maybe low/no salt turkey. The toast was great and the fruit cup came with blueberries, pineapple, and grapes. Overall, it was good food, great service, and reasonably priced. Bathrooms were clean and they received a decent score of 89 on their most recent health inspection.

After working a long shift decided to check this place out. Loved it! Staff was friendly and the food was yummy.

    This was really good.

We had really high hopes for this place after seeing pictures of the food and the reviews. Unfortunately, the food did not meet the standards we were expecting. The service was great and the restaurant is very nice and clean inside. But ultimately it all falls back on the food. Nothing really stuck out as anything to write home about. The drinks were good, but nothing else we ordered was that good.

Joined the waitlist as we were driving there as I knew this would help speed up the waiting process. Got there, checked in and confirmed our party of 5 for the wait list. Let them know the 5th member was a baby so the hostess asked if a high chair was needed in which I responded yes. Told we would get a text shortly after. Text arrived (about 5 min later) and we found the hostess to check back in. As he pointed to the table, he had forgotten high chair was needed......literally 5 min after we just spoke about it. He said we would need to be put back on the wait list. Luckily, we brought our own high chair and made it work. Still somewhat frustrating. Sat there got a good 10 min before our waitress arrived. Apologized for the wait and took our drink and food order. Another 15 min go by with still no waters nor drinks. Another waitress stopped by and was helping our waitress out. Took our drink order again and brought them back to us. Told we would get waters shortly. Another 5 min go buy and a third waitress comes over to give us water. I was actually very impressed with the teamwork. It was nice to see other staff stepping in to help out Then 40 min go buy and we finally get our food, which is always delicious. This is something we have noticed at every single First Watch location, having to wait a very long time for the food order. Not sure if the kitchens are to small, kitchen staff slow or what the case may be. Hopefully they can figure it out as the food is always on point if you have the time and patience to wait

Ok, my mouth is dancing, and I so grateful I found this little gem. Let me tell you, this hash is amazing!!! Came warm, and the flavors sang a melody together as I took my first bite. I had to jump on and say, "You must try this spot."

First Watch consistently serves great breakfast/brunch options quickly and it's always served fresh when I go. I love that they have seasonal menu options, which keeps the selections fun. I look forward to the seasonal specials on the menu. The ambiance is welcoming, servers are attentive, and it's still one of my favorite places to go for breakfast.

Great service, but bland food. Even with hot sauce the Italian omelette needed some more flavor. Fancy juice was really good.

The fresh pastries looked great, and Alex patiently informed me about local Conecuh sausage, which I proceeded to order the Conecuh croissant. It was delicious! The Honey Coffee with Macadamia Nut Milk had good, strong coffee with a little sweetness, which is my preference. The fruit cups were good too, but seemed to attract the fruit flies. The ambience is so great! You can sit quietly in a corner to work or read, or have joy and laughter close by. The employees are friendly and the customers are considerate too. I suppose it's just the South. My only qualm is that it would be great if they open earlier than 7am. There were a few customers waiting, including me, that were at door before opening time.

I picked this spot because it was local and they had a drive through for coffee. I didn't go inside but it's a cute little building. Limited parking and a sort of twisty drive through, but I really like the concept. I wish more higher quality places had a drive through. I ordered one of their seasonal specials, the Cadbury Egg. It's a double shot espresso with white mocha, regular mocha, and caramel. It gave me /bad/ sticker shock. I ordered the smaller size and it was almost $9. For the size of it, I thought the price was very, very high. Service was also quite bumpy. The girl who took my order didn't seem too happy to see me but she took my payment and went back to make my drink. We waited a while, and then a different, friendlier girl came to see if we'd been helped, which we said we had. Then we waited....a lot longer. The first girl finally came back after an extended time, made a very halfhearted apology for our wait (after we watched her horsing around with a male employee right behind the window) , and we were finally on our way. The drink was aggressively fine. I didn't taste any caramel and it mostly had a sort of nondescript mocha vibe. It was a touch on the bitter/burnt side too, though not unmanageable. I think I'm more upset about the price vs the size and quality rather than anything intrinsically wrong with the drink; if I could've had the same drink at around ~$5-6 I'd probably bump up to a 3 star rating. As is, though, it was a mid drink for a high price served very, very slowly with a touch of surliness. I wonder if service is quicker on the inside. They didn't seem too busy but it's hard to tell what was going on indoors; the drive through had no one ahead of us though. The food offerings look good. Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day.

I'm a court reporter who travels a lot to cover depositions. Recently, I had to go to Columbus, GA…read morefrom Nashville and wanted to avoid both Atlanta (traffic nightmare) and Hwy 280 (hateful red lights) so I went through Montgomery, AL. And holy crap, am I glad I went through at lunch time and chose this place to eat!!! The cafe is easy to get to and has plenty of parking- the interior is not flashy or modern, but it is comfortable and homey. And honestly, after eating the food, I wouldn't care if they were in a tent, as long as they brought me this amazing food!! Their menu changes weekly- there are a few meats and vegetables that you can get everyday, and then there's a different selection for each day- which makes me wish I lived closer so I could eat here every freaking day. You can find the current menu on their Facebook page! If you go here though, and do NOT get the fried chicken, then you are seriously doing yourself a disservice. It. Is. Delicious. And as a lifelong southerner, I've eaten a butt load of fried chicken. This is some of the best I've ever had. The mashed potatoes, Lima beans, creamed corn and fried green tomatoes were all awesome as well- seasoned perfectly, were homemade and fresh. Seriously, after my first couple of bites, I had to just close my eyes and do my happy food dance. And the CORNBREAD!!! In true southern fashion, it is NOT sweet, thank god, and is cooked in a muffin form, which usually means that the cornbread is dry. I almost didn't taste it- I wish I hadn't, because this cornbread haunts me. It was light, delicate, savory and (I hate this word) moist. It was the perfect cornbread. They have also perfected sweet tea- I wish I could have gotten a gallon to take home. The women who were working the days I went (twice in six days!) were super sweet, quick and efficient, attentive without hovering- they're really awesome. They all work together and it seems like a well oiled machine. The prices are ridiculous for as much food as you get- a meat and three plus tea for $13.00?? I'd pay way more- but I appreciate not having to go over my allotted per diem for lunch! If you're in Montgomery between the hours of 11-2pm, and you're hungry- do yourself a favor and go to Gail's, tell the girls you're hungry, and eat what they bring you- because it's going to be delicious and your tummy will be very happy.
