Terrible Experience: Overcharged and No Accountability I had a very disappointing experience at First Watch Restaurant in Miami Gardens. I visited the restaurant with my family and, when finished, tried to pay using the QR code in the check with Apple Pay. I tried twice, but the payment didn't go through, so I went to the cashier and paid there. After I left, some hours later I received an alert on my bank account about the charge and saw that I was charged three times for the same order due to a glitch on their end. When I went personally to the restaurant to resolve the issue, they refused to reimburse me, claiming that their website caused the error and was "out of their hands." This is completely unacceptable. A business should take responsibility for issues caused by its systems, not pass the blame onto the customer. After multiple attempts to resolve it, I was left frustrated and out of pocket for charges I never authorized. To make matters worse, the staff was unhelpful and dismissive when I tried to explain the situation; they even told me that this was a common situation with clients paying by phone. I wonder how many clients have paid their checks more than once because they didn't check their accounts. The food was okay but not good enough to justify this kind of hassle. Save yourself the trouble and take your business elsewhere--a place that values its customers and takes responsibility for its mistakes. If you go, make sure not to pay through your phone. read more

The food menu at this chain is pretty decent but this particular location was disappointing. I ordered my meal through Uber Eats since I wasn't feeling well. Unfortunately, biting into my sandwich, I pulled plastic out of my mouth from their negligence and no accountability on their part. The staffer who made the sandwich just put rhetorical entire prepackaged baggie in my sandwich. That's quite negligent on their part. The turkey burger and power bowl were delicious the 4 star review is for the seasoned potatoes some of the potatoes were not done, but the flavor was good. This place and its management are trash. I placed an order via ubereats and for some reason it was continuously delayed for over an hour. When I finally got my driver on the phone they informed me that the order had been picked up according to the restaurant. Meanwhile the ubereats system showed the order still being prepared. When I explained this to the driver, the restaurant management accused me of lying and trying to get extra food. No one needs to lie about a $80 breakfast order. "This is what they do" were the exact words used. Not sure who "they" are, but that isn't the way you treat a paying customer. Another Manager then got on the phone and for the second time accused me of lying. This whole situation should be completely unacceptable for a company of this size. read more

I've been coming for years and it's been pretty consistent. The food is always fresh and not overpriced. Last month, I got the Farm Stand Breakfast tacos and they were delicious. And it was only $10 bucks. 3 weeks ago, I stopped by again for breakfast and ordered The Works Omelet with egg whites which by the way they don't charge extra, unlike other chains. The omelet was pretty big too and came with seasoned potatoes. It was only around $11 bucks. Love their food here. From reading other reviews, not sure why they experienced bad service but I've never had an issue. The servers are always friendly and attentive. The food comes out fresh and hot and I'm in and out in less than an hour. Plus they give you your own carafe of fresh coffee. Sweet! read more

This was my first time coming to the Sky Lake location of First Watch. When my family and I walked in, we were greeted and taken to our table by the host who was very friendly; there was no wait. Shortly after we were greeted by our waitress who was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu. She gave us some great suggestions. We decided to try their Cinnamon Pecan Roll off their holiday "Wonder-Full" menu, and omg it's so rich with sweetness and tastiness, we couldn't stop eating it. I ordered my fav Frittata Rustica which never disappoints me. My family ordered the trifecta with French toast, and blueberry pancakes. This was their first time coming to First Watch, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and their meal to where they can't wait to come back again. Get there early! We walked in before 10:00 a.m. and we were quickly seated within 5 minutes. The atmosphere is very loud and busy like a nightclub. Although they do not serve alcohol they do have some nice fresh pressed juices and coffees. The iced coffee was smooth and sweet. I decided to get one of their seasonal menu items for fall the truffle hash. The breakfast potatoes were diced although I thought they were going to be smaller or even like hash brown style. It was very good & I was happy I ordered toast with it. The food did take a while to come out however it was nice and hot when it did come. I was very satisfied with the kids orders of a chocolate chip pancake it was very large & came with their choice of meat (bacon). I will be honest I was surprised at the bill it was more expensive than I thought ($50 family of 4) but again the food was very good. read more

First Watch is designed in the vien of many breakfast and meat and three joints through out the East Coast and South. The have succeded in not trying to be everything to everyone but offering a little something for everyone to enjoy. Frankly, if your diet is so pretentious and extreame that you can't find anything to eat here; maybe you should just get fitted for a saline drip. The menu is not massive like some long established breakfast/lunch spots but what they do have they do very well. I will say that on occasion, I have had a meal or two that didn't live up to the previous one. But even the mistakes were delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The Whole Grain Pancakes are the size of my head; trust me that's a pretty big pancake. They offer several Egg Benedicts on the menu, I think I've had them all. Don't forget the million dollar bacon..it is worth a try; at least once. You'll find avocado toast, fruit bowls, juices and fresh greens. Lunch is just as good and healthy as breakfast. Sandwiches, Salads and Wraps round out the menu. Great coffee, atmosphere, and good food make First Watch a nice to meet for breakfast or lull away your lunch hour. read more

I decided to take my husband out for breakfast to begin the Fathers Day weekend. I ordered the works Omelette with a side of bacon which I didn't finish because it was packed with all the goodies; now I see why they call it the works. The works omelette has sausage, ham, bacon, cheese, mushrooms, and onions. It also come with a side of potatoes, multigrain bread which is delicious and the jam is out of this world. Plus, I had the nerve to order a side of bacon....which I didn't even touch because the omelette was filling enough. Unfortunately, I didn't like the potatoes because they were a little on the hard side, but I still picked at it. The service was good, but I was a little agitated because my husband had to ask for a straw and the waiter said they only give out straws upon request. Hmmm, okay. The second thing that irked me was I got a To/go box, which I got but then I had to ask for a bag. Sunday morning I was near Miami and wanted some breakfast. So a friend recommended First Watch and we went to try it. We arrived for lunch/brunch. There wasn't much of a wait so we were seated pretty quickly at a nice table. The inside of First Watch is open, pleasant and modern looking. Jenna was our waitress and she was very friendly and quickly brought us menus. I ordered coffee, OJ and a traditional breakfast of eggs, sausages and pancakes. I also got an extra order of pancakes (so I had three in total). We also ordered the crispy bacon covered in syrup (the "Million Dollar Bacon") because it looked really good in the pictures. Jenna quickly brought our coffee and it was really good. It tasted rich and creamy which is the way I like it. A little while later Jenna brought us the bacon covered in syrup. This was meant to be kind of an appetizer and Jenna brought it out before our main meal. The bacon with syrup was borderline okay (I mean is bacon ever really bad?). However, the bacon wasn't very warm and it didn't taste super fresh. I really think they just took bacon they had previously prepared and poured syrup on it and then charged a premium for it by calling it "Million Dollar Bacon." Next, my main meal was brought out. I got a large plate of eggs sunny side up, pancakes and sausages. They were okay. The pancakes just didn't have that killer buttermilk flavor you get in some places. They didn't have a whole lot of taste. The eggs and sausages were okay but again nothing special. The sausages tasted like the frozen type I sometimes make at home in the microwave. The eggs honestly also had no flavor. Also, be careful how much you order. The prices are not cheap and they add up quickly. I ended up spending $50 here for me and my friend. That's more than I paid for sushi for two the night before. Granted, in addition to the two main meals, I did order OJ, coffee, the Million Dollar Bacon appetizer and some extra pancakes (you only get one with the combo plate I ordered - it should really be two or more) but you still don't usually expect breakfast to cost that much. SIDE NOTE RAMBLE. FEEL FREE TO SKIP - In the last couple of weeks I've tried a number of different breakfast places. I am on a quest to find that perfect breakfast I remember from when I was younger. Some places like Country Inn nail it. However, so far I haven't found any new ones in the places I've tried in the last couple of weeks. There used to be a ton of places you could go to and get delicious breakfast food. IHOP used to even be one of them (sadly, not any more). I'm not sure why it is so hard to make really tasty pancakes, eggs, sausages, etc. END OF RAMBLE In summary, First Watch was just okay. Our waitress Jenna was very good but the food overall was average. You can definitely get a decent meal here but I don't think First Watch is a standout from the mass of other breakfast places in South Florida. read more

I'm somewhere between 3 and 4 stars for my first First Watch experience. While the company I was with is 5 stars, she's also a foodie and we both picked up on a few things. It certainly has an upscale, well lit vibe that's great for a casual brunch date for two busy people. First of all, there is a WAIT so take advantage of the check-in on the Yelp app when you're 10 miles out from the restaurant. There were lots of families, and a few other couples but the place seemed like a nicer version of the traditional diner chain. For one, I don't think there were any mimosas on the menu. Even for coffee, they only have American black coffee (i.e. no latte or fancy drinks). However, I must say my orange juice rocked since it had plenty of pulp! That's a pleasant surprise (even at trendy brunch spots). My BLT Eggs Benedict was actually really tasty, and kudos to them for taking out the avocado! I could taste all the individual flavors and the portion was nicely sized. My friendate ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and while I snuck a few bites to sweeten my palate - the lemon compote & fresh fruit toppings were tasty - she pointed out there wasn't any noticeable flavor of ricotta cheese. All in all a pretty decent place for a quick breakfast bite, and we'd go if we're in the area. read more

I love me some First Watch, but this location was the most disorganized one I've ever seen. We basically sat at our table for about 25 minutes without a server coming around to take our order, so we hunted one down and placed an order with one of them. After 20 more minutes our drinks didn't come out so we checked with another server to see if our order even went through. It was just an unreasonable amount of time to wait for any type of service. On a higher note, the food was delish as usual. I ordered the Skillet Hash - Market style with eggs over easy (although they obviously didn't make my eggs over easy). I saw someone order this dish before me and it looked incredible, but there's looked way better with their eggs over easy. We also ordered the Carbonara Benedict from First Watch's seasonal menu. It came with a long thick cut of bacon under the eggs and was very tasty. I actually enjoyed this dish more than my own. Good thing we shared. Sharing is caring. I'm really loving First Watch's seasonal menu which changes every 3 months or so. I also ordered the Red Medicine (seasonal drink). This thing was delish with an interesting flavor combination of pomegranate, cranberry, black tea, local honey, and cinnamon with a cinnamon stick on top. It was very good and I can't say I've tasted this flavor combo before although, overall, I thought it was a just a little too sweet for my taste. I paired it with scrambled eggs. this was delicious and then some. **Chile Chorizo Omelette - chorizo, avocado, green chilis, onions, cheese with pico de gallo and a side of greens. It had the perfect spicy kick to it. The omelette was perfectly cooked, not runny at all. **Farm stand breakfast tacos - scrambled eggs with cajun chicken, chorizo, cheese, avocado on a white corn tortilla with a side of black beans. I had a party in my mouth when I bit into these. delicious! ** Inspired Italian Omelette - Italian sausage, roasted tomatoes, red peppers, fresh herbs, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese with a side of greens. It was like eating a pizza but in egg form. The greens were lightly dressed in vinegar and EVOO which went perfectly with the eggs and sausage. It also came with a side of toast with jelly. **Butternut squash soup - it's sweet and creamy but gives you Christmas vibes when you eat it. It's hot and warms up your heart.
