Ok so my family of 6 did go on a Sunday afternoon after church so we should've picked a better time... the service was awful. It took forever to get our food and an entree and a side never came. Just a mess. The food, is delicious. I had a traditional breakfast with million dollar bacon and soft scrambled eggs. That bacon is a winner and you should go for that alone. The rest of my breakfast was great although my potatoes were a little under done. All in all, I am hoping that the service will improve with time but for now whew it stinks. I would avoid brunch here for a few more weeks so they can tighten up the model. read more

Hubby and I decided to come here for breakfast. It's located in Ravinia Plaza, with ample parking. The staff are warm and welcoming -- we were greeted as soon as we arrived. Even though it was packed, our wait was maybe about 10 minutes, give or take. The ambiance is bright and airy with modern decor. The waiting area has a self-serve coffee station, which is a wonderful touch. Like some other patrons, we were not served water when we sat down. I did see some water on a few tables, and maybe patrons need to ask. Our server, Reegan, was pleasant. They brought a carafe of coffee and said it comes from Colombia. Love how strong it is. Welcome to the neighborhood! Day 2 of First Watch in Orland, IL and I know that I am excited to have this wonderful establishment close to home. This is the 2nd location in the entire state of Illinois, and I find it exciting. Now, let's hop into this review. As mentioned, this is DAY 2 of this establishment being open. So, I really wanted to observe. Come in and get one of my new favorite bites and enjoy all that was offered. I kept in mind: This location just opened. Be kind, enjoy:) It is REALLY cute inside. Cozy, welcoming. Opening week brings free coffee for all. YAY! So nice! I went in with one thing on my mind; Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. I ordered this pancake as part of what is called their "Tri-fecta". 2 eggs, 2 pieces of meat your choice (I selected chicken sausage) and one multigrain pancake (the lemon ricotta, OMG). This pancake came with fresh strawberries and was lightly dusted with powdered sugar. I asked for maple syrup just in case I needed a lil kiss of buttery yummers. My date ordered Barbacoa Breakfast Tacos. 3 came in the order, with a side of black beans and avocado. Lucky for me, I got the side of green loving (avocado). The Million Dollar Bacon was a side order. It is truly a sweet smoky bacon treat, with a kick of spice. DO TRY IT! I had a cup of coffee that was stronger than CAPTAIN AMERICA! Yet yummers! We arrived after 12p and we had plenty of time to eat, talk with neighbors at the table right next to us and allow our food to digest. This restaurant is a wonderful establishment. I have visited their Oakbrook, IL location several times, and it is truly a nice place for breakfast/lunch. Farm to table. Fresh and delightful. It truly is that simple and easy. I hope others will find their way and make a big fuss about First Watch. Go in, ask about their story as to how this business was established. It will warm your heart. I will say, what I WOULD have liked from this experience: To be offered water at the table. An Explanation of the menu/specials. THIS location, to have had the server explain much of anything. She was just rushing along, the entire time. Everything was a rush. Disappointing, but the kinks will work out. I am sure of it. Again, HAPPY to have First Watch in Orland, IL. A nice addition to what we already have, and I am happy about it. YAY for LEMON RICOTTA PANCAKES! Make this establishment a part of your breakfast hot spots! First time at this one, I had the traditional breakfast, I asked for eggs scrambled soft & they were not, everything else was good, their grits are so good, I'm from Fl so grits are a staple. My coffee in the carafe was luke warm at best. Server was friendly. Would I recommend First Watch, yes, the ones I go to in SWFl are bigger/nicer but it was still worth trying. read more

Came here for brunch and was seated pretty quickly on a weekday. Tried their strawberry tres leche French toast which was a popular item but not a fan of it. Also tried their caramel iced coffee which tasted very off but mint mocha coffee was soo much better. The service was great. read more

Front door service was extremely inhospitable. The lady took forever to come to greet us at door. So I ended up doing online reservation to be seated quickly. She then proceeded to take care of four customers prior to us. I addressed our reservation and she still proceeded to seat people that came after us. When addressed she asked would you like to speak to a manager. In so many words she insinuates she doesn't give a f. Do NOT come here. Ordered via the website for delivery. Ordered Trifecta with waffle and bacon. A side of potatoes, a side of fresh fruit and coffee. Food was delicious only issue I had was I felt the potatoes were a bit salty. I do like salt but they seemed a little over. Bacon is great. Fresh fruit was a nice medley of strawberries pineapple grapes and blueberries. Waffle was tender and not to thick. Coffee was very good too. A little stronger than I'm used to but still very good. Very disappointing. I ordered the salmon frittata. It was small and overcooked. It was served with a half inch strip of ciabatta; that was considered the toast. The mixed greens were nice. The B.E.C. was incredible, the bacon so good and the pickled peppers nice and vinegary to balance out the flavors. I was utterly stuffed at the end, which I didn't expect, and was glad for a little salad to compliment the fatty butter slathered sourdough and cheesy sandwich. I had ginger,beets,tumeric juice excellent. The only negative thing about this place is that they have small portions and a bit overpriced. My son and I went here for his 16th birthday breakfast, we were sat right away but it was a Tuesday morning around like 8:30am. They did a wonderful job at the inside and the decor is beautiful. There was plenty of management walking around making sure people had what they needed. When my son and I first sat down we were greeted by a gentleman who felt like he did not want to be there first off. He ask what we want to drink, my son says a chocolate milk and I say a Mimosa. He then goes can I see your ID, I thought you were a high schooler walking in. I Said no were actually here celebrating my son's 16th birthday. Never acknowledged my son or said Happy Birthday. Which wasn't a big deal but many restaurants if you say that they'll at least say happy birthday to the kid. Anyway he brings our drinks back and gave my son a hot chocolate ??? I felt like our server was rushing us. We ordered our food which was very good I might add. My son got two chocolate chip pancakes, and they're so big you could definitely get full off one. I had the waffle and it was again very good. The food was incredible, management was great. I think the one server we had just needs more training. Arrived at 8:45 and there was a 20 minute wait...not a big deal. The space was airy, bright, and cheery. Great selection of food and beverages. I ordered the Traditional with a side of cheesy grits. The eggs, toast- with a very good house jam, and potatoes were well done, but I found the ham- a fair piece of ham with good flavor, but over-cooked a bit and so it was rather dry. The cheesy grits were not hot, but well flavored. I would really like to try them after they have their "sea legs" under them, because I think they were still very new and perhaps were not ready for such a large crowd. read more

Unfortunately we were not able to eat here as we were randomly dropped from the online waitlist. I've heard mostly good things about this location so we were excited to try. We added our name to the waitlist online, which had a 70+ minute wait, but this was fine as we were running errands and the time worked out. We finished up and headed to the restaurant, which was about 35 minutes away. However when we were about 5 minutes away I received a text that we were removed. We had the app so we saw our position in line (27th) so not sure what happened. We do not live in the area so this was a complete waste of our time. I know its still fairly new so hope they get the kinks out. Not sure when or if I would take that chance again though. read more

First Watch always feels so personalized and local despite being a national company expanding rapidly. The attention to detail, the food quality and the employee care is consistent from one location to the next. We have tried so many! We always like to see the art piece reflecting the city we are in and / or the colorful specials board! Million Dollar Bacon, Chocolate Mint Iced Coffee , Salmon Benedict and Chocolate Chip pancakes are my favorites. My son savors the Tomato Soup. At Orland Park we met Todd and Jill who guide things. They are so delightful. They set the tone for the entire team. And if you are lucky enough to have Chloe as your server, you will interact with such a lovely & wonderfully kind person! This is such an uplifting, airy atmosphere which makes you feel comfortable the moment you enter. The potatoes weren't fully cooked. I asked for crispy and got undercooked. I got one egg and should have gotten 2 eggs. I noticed it when the others eggs were double the size. They got cheap on the toast and gave me only one slice. Did bread go up like gas at 6$ a slice? For a $30 meal, I could have gotten a dinner entree. read more

The service needs improvement. Family of 6 ordered, my food was never brought out, nor my grandsons bacon. The manager came over and took the meal off the bill and apologized.
