We woke up and needed breakfast. This place was close by to our hotel and I liked the name. The food looked great, so we went. Before writing, I was going to say that I planned to give this place a 4 rating. I only gave it a 3 rating because I started thinking about the food I ate... I couldn't remember anything about the food I ordered until I pulled up the pictures. Since I couldn't remember the food, it's not one of those unremarkable places to me. With that, it's good. Nothing about the place was bad. I like where it's located so that you can watch traffic. The food was edible, and the staff was nice/attentive. I ordered the strawberry banana french toast. My wife(fiancée at the time) ordered chicken and waffles. The place is a bit like a diner, but a large diner. There were obvious regulars in there having their coffee and chatting. Our food was good, but I'm not sure if it'd be a choice if we're ever in the area again. After leaving and getting on the road, we had to stop about 1 hour later to order other food because we were hungry again. You could do much worse with food places, so if you're hungry and nothing else looks appetizing in the area, give this place a try. read more

Mr stacks is my regular place to grab breakfast after church. The staff is always pleasant and they prepare the food really quickly. My current favorite item is the huevos rancheros, I always get egg whites instead of regular eggs. My fiancé is a fan of the Tuscan skillet, but I have not had a bad skillet there. It can get pretty crowded and the parking is limited. But I think it's a great local spot for breakfast in Tinley, that I would recommend to anyone. read more

One thing, there is nothing like the Midwest hospitality. About an hour and a half early to an appointment I was in the area and decided to stop for a meal. The waitress greeted me with a friendly attitude and made me feel welcomed right away. I was super tired that morning and needed a little boost. SERVICE: Though our waitress was good, she was a bit forceful. She wasn't mean or rude. I just felt she was rushing and I can't rush my thoughts. She came to the table moving fast and yelled out, "Ok, are we ready to order, who is first?" Went for the first time yesterday and it will be my last time. The waitress sucked, the food was fairly expensive and mediocre. I could tell the patty melt was made using a frozen patty. She never brought out my soup . She didn't apologize . She didn't ask if we wanted more drinks, etc. She was like a zombie . The crazy thing is the place was fairly empty. We talked about seeing her at femme beauty lounge that is part of the plaza . A small world kind of thing , as we didn't know she worked at stacks . As we were taking pictures of our meal she came over to look at them . And thanked us for making the food look good . Let me tell you that the food tasted as good as it looked . The presentation and freshly chopped ham and bacon made the Cambridge skillet texture a combo of crunchy and tender . The finely chopped onion and tomato's in the Bacon Avocado scrambler was of high standards as well. Went to mr Stacks for lunch today with my beautiful bride and my Thai chi teacher Barbara I had Coffee and a special seasonal pancake pumpkin and pecans , with the honey I applied to it it was Fab. My bride had an omelet and said it was terrific and our friend Barbara had a skillet and also loved it. This will be a reoccurring theme as long as they have those pumpkin pecan pancakes are server. Just picked up food here. Had a sandwich and pancakes with eggs and sausage. Holy cow when I say it was bad that's an understatement. Spent 36 dollars on food that's still in the box after 2 bites. The pancakes had the most sour blueberries ever. Eggs tasted like they were from a box. McDonald's eggs are better! Sausage links weren't even cooked all the way. The sandwich was "ok" at best. I like Stacks. This was my second time there and everything was good - service, quality of the food, portion sizes, prices, and cleanliness of the restaurant. The first time I was there, I had super large pancakes that were light and fluffy. The second time I was there, I had French toast that was delicious. It's actually called mr stacks, not stacks like the other breakfast chain - i thought that notable to mention. I got a steak skillet with egg whites. The steak was tender but incredibly greasy. There was an actual pool of grease at the bottom of the skillet, my potatoes weren't seasoned well and weren't crispy either. The potatoes are listed as ranch potatoes on the menu, but I didn't taste any ranch flavor. I did see a few specks of what looked to be powdered ranch flavor on a few potatoes. My egg whites were cooked well as were my onions and peppers. I had a large amount of shredded cheese in one corner of my skillet, for some reason. The multigrain toast, was delicious; it was my favorite part of the meal. I barely finished a third of my meal, it was just too greasy and not very good. read more

I wish I could review the food here. Unfortunately the smell of Fabuloso was so strong that within minutes of being seated, we started to develop migraines so we left. I wish restaurants would stop using that cleaner. To me it doesn't smell clean, just like chemicals. I understand wanting to clean sections of the restaurant not being used to get out as soon as you close, but maybe wait on the floor mopping until you close. Decor is depressing. Table was dirty. She wiped it, but then we had to sit at a wet table. The silverware and cups were dirty, and didn't have a spoon. I asked which soup they had. She didn't know. We ordered the fall specials, "bruchado" toast and my wife got the sweet potato hash skillet with pancakes. The coffee was water and may as well have been decaf. Server didn't return to tell me which soup they had. Our food showed up and the toast looked miserable and the eggs were cold. My wife's skillet came out with an English muffin. Not the pancakes she asked for, so we had to wait for the pancakes. Then, the server said, oh yeah we have chicken tortilla soup, but at this point I was already eating my meal. The skillet was supposed to come with caramelized onions. There weren't any. Also, the sweet potatoes were burnt and were supposedly maple flavored. Nope. I've seen this place and been wondering about it for the last 5 years, and haven't been. Now I have and will never go back. From start to finish it was bad. I wasn't mad, but it's more of a shoulder shrug moment. Like, "Well we gave it a shot. Let's not come back lol." There are better places everywhere. read more

I'm giving this place three stars as an average between the food and service. I went there on a Sunday morning, when it still fairly early and the place was not busy. I was greeted and seated immediately, and brought my coffee fairly quickly. I had already decided what I wanted so I ordered when the server came back, and after she took my order, she was off like a shot. You might think that was OK, except that it had the feel of "I'm too busy to talk to you." And they weren't. The food came out relatively quickly, and it was excellent. However, my server more or less dropped it on the table, and then scurried away. Again. It was like she didn't want to interact with me any more than necessary. Please understand. I don't necessarily want the server to sit down in my booth with me and have a conversation, but I would like a little more attention then simply having them take my order and then run away. I'm an excellent cook myself, and I don't go out to eat because I can't cook at home. I go out to eat because I want to be taken care of. And in this case, they didn't. So, three stars? Yes. Our first experience was very good, service-wise and the food was mostly great, except for American cheese folded into my scrambled eggs. Such an odd choice, and SO much of it. Everywhere else I go, cheddar is standard. The second visit, we were seated quickly, our server was attentive and friendly. The issue we have is that my father in laws hash browns came out not only underdone (and pale), but also frozen in the middle. Took four bites with no meat so I started digging, and found exactly two small shreds of steak. TWO. When I ordered I asked if it included hash browns and the answer was yes. I asked to have them burnt, and then burnt some more. Well they weren't hash browns, they were little potato squares about the size of sugar cubes. And the burnt part...forget it, they didn't even try. The waitress was friendly when we ordered but then NEVER stopped back to see if everything was OK, not one time. When I paid the bill I told the lady at the register about the issue and she didn't offer to make it right in any way, nothing.
