We came back a week later to give it another shot and it was SO MUCH BETTER. WOW...what a great experience. While our server wasn't overly friendly she still did a good job taking care of us. The food came out and it was right and it was hot (pancakes don't come out very hot but it may just be the way pancakes are) and it tasted so good. We had a group of 6 of us and we put our names on the waitlist online and when we got to the restaurant we only had a 15 minute wait. We were pleased and it was way better than our first experience. If you're a fan of brunch, then you should not sleep on this place! This was my first time at First Watch and I can't wait to return! The vibe itself is so enjoyable and immediately gives off that fresh, modern country feel that just puts you in the mood for a homey breakfast-style meal. They actually sell their's here to take home which I love, and it's unique to First Watch. Love this first watch out of all other locations the parking is easy it is always clean fast and efficient. This location can get pretty packed but I've never had to wait more than 15mins. I recently took a trip to Orlando to visit some friends and I wanted the full Orlando experience! One of my first stops was First Watch and it was worth the wait! After driving back from church, we got to First Watch and had about a 20-30 minute wait for our party of two. Not deterred, we browsed the menu and once we were seated, we ordered quickly. That's where the trouble began. After ordering, it took about 45 minutes - 1 hour to get our food. I understand being busy, especially on a Sunday morning, but i had just flown in on a 7 am in flight, gone to church and by the time we got our food, my friend and I were quite ravenous. The wait really brought my experience down, but if I was just reviewing the food alone, it would be 5 stars. I have heard about First Watch from some friends and I was so excited to try it. It did NOT disappoint. For my meal I got the farmhouse hash with an OJ. It was soooo flavorful, I enjoyed each bite. The best part were the onions mixed in with the potatoes, cheese, eggs and tomatoes. My friend got a vegetarian hash, so there re vegetarian friendly options for those of you who ascribe to a vegetarian diet. Overall the restaurant was bright, clean and had a nice, welcoming vibe. I do not give bad reviews, and I've been to several First Watch locations; but this one in Lake Nona and fairly new doesn't appear to be managed properly. The place was so dirty I almost couldn't eat. It was only 930am and although some restaurants are suffering due to lack of staff 3 employees were behind the register and several others walking around. The handicap bathroom didn't have any paper towels, so I went over to the regular bathroom and it didn't have any toilet paper and it appears the trash was taken out but a new trash bag was not inserted so the trash can was just open. We sat down and shortly after noticed a roach crawling on the wall and on our table. We informed the manager which didn't seem fazed or apologetic at all. It's really a shame that I have to write this. This is the second time, in a row, I've come here and been disappointed. It's a Monday around 1pm and not really all that busy. I decided to give it another chance seeing how it shouldn't be busy.. I do love the vibe here and the food. I think the prices are pretty good (average price is probably around $12) but what they just can't seem to get right is the service. I always get seated in an instant that parts great. But I had to wait about 15 minutes for a server to greet me (keep in mind she walked in and out twice before acknowledging me). Upon arrival she came to the table with an attitude and I realized she never even told us her name... only saw her twice in an hour and it's just really upsetting as this is the second time it happened. I've been to First Watch in different locations and never had a bad experience, but this is the first time I can say that it was a terrible experience, even though we had some hiccups with the food, the experience with the hostess, Amber was what made the whole experience so negative. We were told the wait was 20 to 30 minutes. We ended up waiting more than 40 minutes, people walking in from the parking lot and getting seated right way, I asked Amber about that, she never mentioned anything about the app, kept telling us we were next, then someone else came in and they were seated. The worst part is when no one was waiting on line and we were the only two people waiting on a table, Amber told us there were no open tables, even though we could clearly see several were, we decided to leave but then Marquis who had been very accommodating in getting us cups to get water while we waited, seated us at one of several empty tables. Our server Evelyn was very nice and I ordered the veggie skillet, after eating some of it, discovered there was sausage in it, I do not eat any meat.
