Keke's Breakfast Café in Lake Nona is usually one of my go to spots, especially because I can't resist their BLT sandwich, it's consistently one of my favorites. The bacon is crisp, the ingredients are fresh, and it always hits the spot when I'm craving something simple but satisfying. This visit, though, the wait time was longer than I've come to expect. I'm someone who often hopes for a quick in and out breakfast, so that part was a bit frustrating. That said, once seated, the experience definitely improved. The ambience was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to sit and relax, even after the longer wait. The service also stood out, friendly, attentive, and efficient once things got moving. Overall, while I wish the turnaround was a bit quicker, the quality of the food, along with the pleasant atmosphere and solid service, still make it a spot I enjoy returning to, especially for that BLT. read more

Let's me start off by saying , our waitress Ashley was wonderful and did her best as she was handed way too many large tables at the same time. For overall I have to give this a 3 as 2/3 kids orders were received later than the rest of the table which is issue number 1. Kids orders should come first always ! Second one of the orders came out with cheese slapped on top not even blended or melted and had to go back after already waiting longer than the rest of the table. We had to ask another waiter for utensils and napkins as well as water. I know we had 8 people but the hostess should have divided tables evenly amongst servers are we were celebrating birthdays and this took away from having an overall fun and great experience. I forgot to take pictures. I had the eggs over easy with a side of bacon, English muffin and waffle. All of them are good. The bacon was nice and crispy. We recently had another delightful experience at Keke's Breakfast Cafe! Overall, of the 5 or more Keke's we've been too, they've all had very quick and friendly service, and inviting ambiance, and a plethora of tasty food options! Today we opted for the chocolate chip pancakes which were not only massive in size, but both deliciously and generously full of chocolate chips! We also had a very cheesy omelet, garnished with tomatoes, and both fruit salad and wheat toast on the side. We left full, happy, and wanting to return to Keke's as soon as we could. We had Marissa as our server for our group of 8. She was wonderful and interact nicely with my grandkids at the table. We enjoyed all our meals which included the banana Nutella stuffed French toast, raspberry stuffed French toast, Western Omelet, Eggs Benedict, Florida pancakes, small stack pecan pancakes, egg combo with grits and kids eggs combo. Nice staff and clean restaurant. If you're looking for a quick breakfast, this is not the place. It wasn't super long to get our food but not as quick as a breakfast diner. We noticed the staff did not use trays and would carry the food in a way that their clothing or body parts would be touching the food on the plates and that was an appetizing. I would suggest either a standard of only two plates per server or get trays. The food was average but 2 of our plates had hair in the home fries. The server was very apologetic and we received a discount, but it was still very unappetizing. For the price of the food we just didn't think it was worth it. read more

We loved our Sunday breakfast. Wait was a little long but considering it was a Sunday... it's expected. Service and atmosphere was very nice. Very friendly hosts. The 2 hosts kept us informed us with updates of the wait time without asking. Our waitress, Christina, was excellent! Our large order of 4 people came out hot and correct. She refilled our coffee and drinks without asking. Regardless her having to attend various tables inside and outside, she was on point. Quality of the food was excellent too. This particular location is our go to Keke's for breakfast because of the warm welcome from the hostesses, amazing servers, and the yummy breakfast! I ordered the Apple Cinnamon Waffles, I also appreciate that they added how many calories are in each item in the menu, if you're watching your intake. Portion sizes are massive. Theyre meant to be for two of me, haha. I just knocked off one star because of the hefty price tag for everything in the menu. I mean, our small fruit cup was $7. Ambiance is very stale but those waffles and bacon have a chokehold on me. It's Soft, chewy yet crispy! I adore that it comes with whipped salted butter. The eggs are made to my preference which is easy-over. They were perfect. Also, the bacon is crispy and delicious. Partner has the omelette. She says it was good! They have some good orange juice. It comes in a tall glass, too! I never finish mine and ask for it in a to-go cup before leaving. The servers are sweet. I wish I knew her name, so all I could do is describe her. Walking into the restaurant and there was no one at the hostess stand. We waited a couple minutes for a younger boy to come seat us. We sat and our waiter was nice and asked if we wanted something to drink. I asked if their iced coffee had any milk alternatives such as oat, soy, or almond milk she apologized and said they didn't have any alternatives. I got an iced tea instead. Our server took our order and got a few small items I got eggs, bacon, toast, and sausages. The eggs tasted a little weird. After getting home from this location we both ended up having stomach pain and ended in the restroom. Apparently the eggs were expired. We ordered hot chocolate, which I didn't know you could get a free refill on, a water and an apple juice. The glasses were tall and abundant. You won't need a refill, that's for sure! Service is good and you get your food pretty fast , but as far as the food quality, I would say needs improvement. The pancakes are huge but to doughy. Once upon a time, it seemed that greasy spoon diners or luncheonettes were pretty much the only option if you wanted to go grab breakfast. Now with places like Keke's Breakfast Cafe and First Watch, you have better options if you are seeking to eat out for the first meal of the day (and what I was told since grade school was the most important meal of the day). Keke's Breakfast Cafe is a hometown creation, having started here in Orlando, Florida back in 2006 by brothers Keith and Kevin Mahen. Back then it had the more straightforward name of the Florida Waffle Shop. This location was on Conroy Road and when the brothers started eying the horizon of expansion, they went with the name Keke's (which was a combination of both of their names) both because the name was perceived as more catchy and also because they could not obtain a trademark for the business name Florida Waffle Shop. From that humble beginning of one location, Keke's has grown to over forty locations here in Florida. The reason they have not expanded beyond the Sunshine State yet is that they have not saturated the market yet. The menu at Keke's Breakfast Cafe is filled with the usual breakfast favorites like waffles, omelets,eggs benedict and more. They also have a lunch menu, but I have only tried their breakfast offerings. All in all, my breakfast here was an overall winner. The food was very good, the ambiance was a great alternative to the standard greasy spoon breakfast joint with cheap chairs and chipped tables and my server was friendly, attentive and professional. This restaurant is disgustingly dirty!! My tea cup had lipstick on the inside and out. The manager Oscar stopped by the table to see how our experience was going. I shared with him about the lipstick and he laughed n said it was mine. Which I replied I was not wearing lipstick. He never offered to change out my cup, instead he walked away. We had to send one plate back because there was hair in the eggs n bacon. My grandsons omelette was not cooked. Beware if you eat here. I have been disappointed in KeKe's since they were sold to Denny's a few years ago. I have continued to eat there about once a month but at this point it has declined to where I doubt if I will return. I'm not sure what has happened to the food; poached eggs on the eggs Benedict have either been undercooked with the whites still runny or overcooked with the yolk hard. Today the toast was basically warmed bread - not a speck of brown anywhere. I could go on but you get the idea. Today we arrived at 10:15 and there was not a wait to be seated. Food did not arrive until 10:45. I had to ask the food delivery person (it was not our server) for a warm up on my half empty cup of coffee and was ignored. In addition the restaurant was freezing cold. Several people complained but it was just a frigid when we left. I won't be returning. read more

The service has finally hit rockbottom. Last week I made my weekly trip for breakfast, and after sitting at my table for fifteen minutes without a server approaching us, we left. Then again yesterday, we made our weekly viist to find there were eleven table with people seated, and according to one of the employees, there were only two servers working. We opted for First Watch instead. Saving money by keeping your staffing to a minimun is a quick way to ruin your buisness. Good food is only part of a successful business equation. Exerience is a significnat factor. Not being servied or having to wait over thirty minutes to get your food, or for the syrup the server forgot to put on your table becauase he or she was busing serving eight other tables to wait on is rediculou and a sure way to lose customer loyalty. read more
