We came today to celebrate Husband's birthday a month late. We were seated promptly since it wasn't busy. Our wait staff was pleasant and fast. Don't know her name as she did not introduce herself. I was thrilled to see no up charge on the gluten free toast. I try to limit the amount of gluten I have and this was perfect. Our food came fairly quickly. This was the first time I've been disappointed with my meal. I hate wasting food, so I made do with the room temperature bacon and eggs. The toast was not hot. The only thing streaming were the grits. Husband asked for his breakfast to be microwaved since nothing was warm. But our wait staff took his to remake it. They have no microwave. When it came back, he said it was hot and delicious. Next time, and we will return, I'm sending mine back if all of my meal is not cooked correctly. read more

I have been coming to this first watch location for years, as we love biking here sunday morning for breakfast. I get the same thing every time - million dollar bacon which is always great, and egg Benedict which I always love. The last 2 times I went have been such a letdown that I wont be back for a long time. Last time my eggs Benedict came with 2 tiny slivers of avocado that at first I thought they forgot it completely because I could barely find any. I asked for some more. By the time he returned with some it had been 15-20 minutes. I would of just ate my meal without it, but both of my eggs were way beyond poached, and were hard boiled. I saved one to show the waiter when he returned. He said "oh yeah thats overcooked" shrugged it off and didn't even offer to take any money off my meal. Maybe to him I was being dramatic about the whome situation, but when I get the same meal there once a month for years and it starts turning to shit all of a sudden i'm going to speak up. read more

If you want breakfast in a clean, well air conditioned, spacious restaurant (chain), First Watch is a solid choice. We always get amazingly prompt and friendly service even if the place is packed. This last Sunday morning at 8am, there were plenty of tables available. I think it gets much busier after church. It was great to catch up with a good friend and enjoy a tasty breakfast! I had my normal order... grits (no extra butter) and an egg over medium. It's always cooked perfectly and goes well with salt and pepper. When you order coffee, the waitress brings an entire pot even if you only want one cup! It's just what they do! I got 1/2 my grits to go and enjoyed them two hours later. I eat a tiny amount every two hours because my digestive system has been altered by life saving surgeries. Life is good with tasty breakfast and a good friend! read more

What's going on at First Watch?!? Suddenly the monthly specialty items are gone. No more separate menu, no sandwich board and blank chalkboard inside. Only 1 person busing tables (with at least a half dozen empty/dirty tables), customers waiting (full wait area and stacked outside forced to listen loud music from the business next door), waitstaff going back to the kitchen empty handed, etc. They have online notification software which, as the host/ess walks around calling people's names for their table, appears to have the purpose replacing paper/pen or data farming. I love First Watch, but have not been there in a while. In the past, they only had turkey bacon and my meat-eater husband just couldn't do it. They now have regular bacon so we can go back. We went for breakfast and while there was a line, it moved quickly. I think we got there between rushes because a bunch of people came right after us and probably had to wait longer. It is totally worth the wait if you do have to wait. On this visit, I went a little overboard and had the bacon treat that is oh so amazing as well as a specialty drink with my entree. The bacon treat is known as "Million dollar bacon." It is the right blend of salty, sweet and spicy. I also had the salmon and veggie frittata and the morning meditation drink. I am not a big egg person, but this salmon and veggie frittata was so very good. I would recommend it. The morning meditation is also delicious. I love fruity drinks and this is so great. I love that it has turmeric in it too. Drinking it made me feel like I was being healthy even though I was having a huge breakfast. My husband had the trifecta breakfast because he loves traditional breakfasts. He was more than satisfied. We will be back! read more

I've eaten at First Watch before, but, I typically do it every once in a while since they are a bit pricey (this is probably because of the fresh ingredients they use). I came in today to get a quick bite before taking a walk while my girls are in therapy. The place was not busy and I was seated immediately. The place is spacious, clean, and the decor is pleasant to look at. My waitress was very friendly and she gave me my drinks (water and coffee). I really like how they leave both a pitcher of water and the coffee pitcher so you can refill without waiting for them to come back around. I ordered the Traditional and substituted the wheat toast for gluten free and added on a side of fruit. My order didn't take long to cook but came out hot and fresh. My meal was very good with fluffy eggs and well seasoned potatoes. I've grown to like gluten free toast and it came with a side of yummy strawberry jam. Overall, I was satisfied with my breakfast and might start frequenting here more. Awesome breakfast and service. I had the Traditional Breakfast...two eggs over easy, pork sausage, mixed greens, multi grain toast and a side of the most amazing cheese grits I've tasted in Florida! One less star because the eggs over easy were a little raw when I began digging in. Oh and the drink I had was equally amazing. I think it was called morning sunrise. It had orange juice, beet juice, turmeric and nectar agave. Definitely will be getting that again. With so many restaurants lacking in quality and customer service First Watch in Palm Harbor hit it right.
