Labor Day Bike ride- all our regular places were closed so we stopped at this friendly local joint. Katie lured us in with her bubbly personality and the price of everything 2 for 9.99! Burgers, gyros, chicken sandwiches, turkey melts, etc... The outside seating was perfect to park our bikes and the inside was super quaint as you watched George cook it all up. Beware of getting ripped off at George's breakfast Station. I ordered a BLT. The menu said it came with french fries. I did not want fries and asked if they had cole slaw instead- and the owner said no, but would you like potato salad and I said yes. He never told me that the potato salad - small scoop- was an extra $6- as most Tarpon restaurants treat potato salad as a side. The sandwich was worked -maybe- $2.00- with a small piece of sa tomato, iceberg lettuce and 1 old strip of bacon. For tat a $20 bill returned $4.00. I am a local but must have looked like a tourist Do not bother with this place as there are many other great and honorable Greek Restaurants in beautiful Tarpon Springs. read more

This is a beautiful and cozy place that we happened to find. Since we came from Brooklyn, it's hard to surprise us with food variety, but the food here was absolutely wonderful. It feels cozy and welcoming, just like home. And most importantly -- the PEOPLE! The customer service was amazing, the food was fresh and delicious, and the coffee was very enjoyable. Very nice people. The inside is very small. They do have outdoor seating. My husband had eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, fries and toast. I had the French toast with bacon. The bacon was cook to my liking. The French toast was under cooked in the middle, so I just ate around it. The owners are the ones who work there. They are very nice. I like support local businesses. Our servicer was very friendly and welcoming. She kept checking in on us and making sure we were all taken care of. The ambiance is more of a mom and pop setting with multiple booths and a sit down bartop. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the food. I order a chicken sandwich but it reminded me of school lunches. Food is mid. Prices will draw you in to sit down but that's about it. Our fries weren't even cooked all the way thru and the burgers were just plain. They charge you for every little thing and personally to me that's cheap and tacky for a business to do that. Burgers only come with lettuce and tomato. The space in the booth is somewhat small if you were a large person or have more than four people in your group, it's probably gotta be uncomfortable. You're not getting fancy coffee or tropical fruit, but you will get service with a smile and a cheerful Good Morning. The space is small and busy, but somehow the last spot is always open. Just a small restaurant in a small town serving standard breakfast fare, it doesn't pretend to be anything fancy or gourmet. Free refill of tasteless coffee, decent food served quick, get filled and be on the road. The French toast is actually quite good, and they serve it with butter, not margarine. , though the biscuit and gravy is disappointing - flat biscuit in too-salty gravy. I enjoy George's, I'm a regular. We typically enjoy breakfast here, often after walking a beach in the morning. Good dark hot coffee, perfect eggs, great sausage and fried potatoes. Toast using locally baked bread. Always quick and hot food. I've brought family and friends here many times, always positive results. We're always greeted with a smile, and served and treated well. Place seems to be under new ownership, not sure if they have formally changed the name, but the basic concept was/is the same, minus the apparently not so friendly owner. We went twice (parents like it) and it was decent, inexpensive breakfast food. Nothing crazy was ordered. Everything was pretty tasty and served quick and hot. Seemed like there were only two people working the restaurant, a server who took the order and worked the cash register and the cook. Despite being busy both times, never had an issue with the timeliness of service, etc. The place is old and kind of divey, so I didn't expect too much from the ambiance. Wow, this was one of the worst first impressions I've ever received at a "hospitality" business. The bitter woman who looked me up and down before saying hi, went on to tell me to sit wherever I want. I tried to tell her I just wanted a gyro omelette to go, but she really wanted me to sit somewhere so with a louder and irritated voice she told me to sit somewhere again. When I asked if she could just take my order since I'm in a hurry, she stated she is a waitress there (simultaneously pointing to a table) and grabbed her notepad. I said I just wanted a gyro omelette yet the pursed-lipped, angry look on her face was the final straw. I simply said forget about it and walked out as I heard her justifying the event to who I assume was George by exclaiming that I was in a hurry. So, if you come here and expect a good experience, just don't cross the gate-keeper and follow all their rules. read more

I will never come here again. The owner, George was very rude and the food was just so-so. With all the great places to eat in Tarpon, why would anyone come here. He refused to make our food unless we paid right away. He pointed at my husband then the register and then made some rude incoherent comment about time. We were the only people in the restaurant. It was literally 6am. First guests of the day. Our food was made surprisingly quick, Like a little too quick and it just wasn't very good. It's as though everything was microwaved. I don't trust the the place to eat there again because it looked dirty. No thanks, ill Just go to IHOP. MAIN REASON WHY WE ARE NOT GOING THERE AGAIN IS THE OWNER GEROGE. I'm eating lunch here today. I ordered a gyro w tatziki sauce. Friendly staff, clean building inside, nice music, nice selection on menu for breakfast or lunch. Proprietor & waitress are Greek, so I figured the food might be good & give them the benefit of the doubt over the previous negative reviews. So far, so good. I like the juicy onion rings because I can taste the sweet Vidalia onions. I peeled off most of the breading. I think I've had a better gyro somewhere. It's made with gyro meat, although I would've preferred real lamb meat which is more expensive, probably. read more

Place is not very good or clean. I like small local restaurants, but this spot leaves a lot to be desired. The floors were sticky and the tables had crumbs around the legs and in the corners on top. We stopped here for a fast breakfast before an early meeting. We received a cheerful greeting at the door and we were offered coffee. So far, so good. Our meals came quickly, mine was ordered well done, but everything came well done. Our waitress, who would rather be somewhere else, never came back to check on us or for coffee refill unless I caught her eye. Getting the TV to work commanded everyone's full attention. So our meals were good-to-overdone, service spotty at best. There are lots of other dining choices in Tarpon. read more

They have a special, 2 sandwiches for $8. So I took my family of 6 and got 6 sandwiches. On our bill, there was a $3 "share" charge. When I asked what it was for, she said the special is meant for 1 person. That's not cool. Add to that the fact that one of our cheeseburgers had a moldy bun, and the waitress didn't offer to comp or discount anything. Food was decent at best. Overheard another customer complaining about there being no carbonation in the soda, and that they charged her for extra sauce, but then didn't even fill up the condiment cup. Places like this need to learn that trying to skimp and cut costs like this really just doesn't do much for the customer's experience. As for us, we won't be back. read more

Basically a family run restaurant with so-so food, low prices and good service. George has been running the place for years, apparently, and has enough regulars to more than get by. We ordered their spinach pie/ Greek salad special, and a chefs salad. The pie was ok, if you like your pastry soggy from being heated in the microwave. Greek salad was basically a small salad w oregano and a dab of feta. Chefs salad was basic, this is okay. In keeping with the fact that this was once a gas station, the single Restroom is outside, they give you a key. Can't imagine why I'd want to eat here again. read more

It looks fine from the outside my kids and I were looking for a place for breakfast. We all got the Swiss mushroom burger, I got coffee that was never refilled and was a small cup of coffee. The cheese was not really swiss and was cold and not melted. The mushrooms were canned and there were two dollops of mayonaise that was not spread. The single tomato was about 2" in diameter and was very soggy. When I complained to the chef/owner George he talked to me with a sassy attitude. The buns were cold and the fries looked and tasted like they were something you could buy at Dollar Tree. A very frustrating experience. read more

Don't know why this place has such bad reviews. It's a fantastic place that's down to earth, delicious and fast. We were in and out within 30 minutes and had some of the best prepared eggs. Over hard and just the right amount of juiciness. The yolk was cooked to just the right temperature to where it wasn't runny, but not too tough. Excellent. read more
