We ate here for breakfast yesterday for the first time. After reading past poor reviews since First Watch bought the previous AZ chain a few years ago I had no interest in coming here. What a pleasant surprise. Chris, our waitress is excellent. She was very attentive to us checking on us frequently to make sure everything was right with our order, refilling our coffee etc. Our food was really good. I ordered the classic tri-fecta breakfast. My husband ordered a hash dish with italian sausage. we also bought a loaf of sprouted bread to take home. We will definitely be eating here again. read more

Have eaten breakfast there several times since it became First Watch. Each time is a little more disappointing. Today was last time. Had Tifecta breakfast with eggs, pancake and one sausage. Portions are small for what you get vs what you pay. Substantially worse than other nearby restaurants. Service is average at best. Good example of large national chain restaurant, very average. Took what was a great place and made it average. Can't substitute for much or significant up charges. I suggest local, Two Brothers or Heart and Soul Cafe. If you want a chain go to Denny's or IHOP, about the same. read more

Had lunch here with our mountain bike group after a ride at Apache Wash yesterday. We called ahead for our group of ten and were seated on the covered patio with misters. It was the hottest day yet this summer, and we were cool and comforter. Mary, our server, provided incredible service. Everyone in our group loved our food and were surprised with how quickly our food arrived. We didn't feel rushed and will definitely be back. read more

Not too pleased with this place. I came in as a party of 3. We were seated immediately. Started looking at the menu and every two minutes our server came over and asked if we were ready. Seemed like she was trying to rush us. But that wasn't the problem. My sister ordered the biscuits and turkey gravy and unless you like dog food don't order it. We sent it back and our sever seemed annoyed with us. Instead she just wanted crepes but there's no adult crepes so the server just let her have the kids one. She gave us the bill and told us the biscuits and gravy was taken off. All went well. Until she swiped my sisters card. It wasn't on the bill she gave us but the one she gave back said we were charged for it. The hostess who checked us out didn't know how to reopen the check and void it. So she had to get two other people to fix it. It was just a mess. That shouldn't happen with the amount we pay. Service needs improvement. read more

This place is like an upgraded PaneraBread, super yummy. Just had the summer elote corn hash bowl and it left me feeling healthily full. They should expand and come to Seattle. Will definitely eat here again next time I'm in AZ. read more

came here on may 1st around 1pm, just me and my one friend and experienced the worst service ever, the lady who sat us down sat us at a table threw our menus on the table and rushed away, she sat us at a table that had drink/coffee pitchers on it. not how i would expect to be greeted at a breakfast joint. then we waited 10 minutes to get greeted by our actual waitress while we watched the other servers roll silverware, count their money, and eat their food on the floor. long story short i eat here all the time and the service just keeps getting worse. read more

We used to go here before it became "First Watch". They remodeled and changed their menu completely. The remodel was very nice and the decor is great... The menu became a joke though. It is like they are attempting to turn a classic breakfast into a trendy hipster menu. It sucks now. Last time we went we struggled to even find anything that sounded normal or good. We love First Watch! They do get extremely busy on the weekends and there can be a wait for seating, its not McDonalds folks! I'll admit that sometimes the food is better than others, but its always hot and fresh. Thy also have a good selection of healthy options too. Love this place! The décor is both fun and inviting. We've had great service since the switch from Good Egg (We've always had wonderful servers here no matter what the name!). It took the best from both of these great breakfast/lunch places and combined them. My absolute favorite is the avocado toast! Recently I broke the "trend" and had the chia pudding power bowl and it was so fresh and delicious with so many great textures! My husband loves the breakfast burritos too. The management also listens to our suggestions and takes care of the very few problems we've had. read more

Our order was a little slow but we were notified by the server a large order was placed just before ours and that it might take a little longer than average wait. Nice place with outdoor seating, great on a PHX spring day. Had Shrimp and Grits special, it was very good and portion was large for the price. We ate here fairly frequently when it was a good egg. It has recently changed completely to a First Watch and I have to say that the service is the only thing that is good here. The food went from okay to bad. Everything we used to get also went up in price. Maybe our waitresses just never charged us for substitutions we used to get before, I don't know, but it costs more and the food is much worse. We won't be going there again. read more

We have been two other first watch locations. This new one opened up at Carefree highway. I must say that I was not too pleased with the service. Everybody was really friendly however if you needed a refill you had to wait until the server may swing by and you had to ask her. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere is nice. We would go back again we just hope to have a little bit better service. read more

We have been regulars here for breakfast and or lunch and love their sandwiches and salad selections. Breakfast tacos are good too but today was disappointing. Food was tipid, biscuits and gravy not hot. Would not recommend this or the Salmon Frittata. This is a busy Sunday morning and it appears they need more servers as people are waiting and tables are empty needing cleaning. Two outdoor patios and only one being used but heat lamps are inoperative. Disappointed in this trip. read more

Wonderful breakfast foods, extravagant drink options, and the waiters are mostly kind, with a few exceptions. The decor is a beautiful modern rustic design that I quite enjoy to look at, especially because what was here, The Good Egg, had a very outdated design. The food is quite worth the price in my opinion, but if you are in the area and need a cheaper breakfast, Denny's is right across the street but it is not at all comparable in taste! We go quite often and will continue to go almost every Sunday morning. Be sure to get on there waiting list on Sunday in particular or you will be waiting for quite a while. read more

First Watch is very consistent in service and food. Wait is never too long and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Remember they are making it fresh and may take a little longer than you are used to. However, they will keep your iced tea and coffee full. Elizabeth provided great service. read more

First off, I wish there was a 0 star option because this place doesn't even deserve one. Before I start to go into detail, if you have any interest in eating breakfast in this area, walk your happy a** across the street and go to Denny's. Now, walking up to the front door it smelled like a sewer pipe had just broke and the air around me was engulfed with nasty old fat guy farts. I wish I would've gone to Denny's that second but my wife thinks it's too redneck. We finally get a table and it takes 17 minutes for the waitress to come and take our drink order. When we get the drinks she asks for our food order (by the way they don't have sweet tea, and the unsweet tea here sucks... sugar can't even fix that horrendous concoction). The only thing that looked somewhat appetizing was the tomato basil soup, so I ordered it and it took them 45ish minutes to make a soup that tasted like it came from a Hienz ketchup bottle. At this point I am ready to walk out because I am so tired of the terrible customer service and even worse food and drinks. If it wasn't for a few cute Texas Tech college girls that walked in as we are eating, I would've stood up from the booth and walked to Denny's. All in all, don't let the "cute" pictures on the wall and the aesthetic furniture fool you.. Go to Denny's and eat for half the price, twice the food quality, and 5x the customer service. read more

Long wait for food, mediocre quality, depressing interior, high prices. We arrived at 7 am this morning, and we were the second table to be seated. About 10-12 other groups ambled in and were seated. All other tables were served before we were, even though we had ordered promptly from their regular menu. I asked the server what we ordered that took so long (so we wouldn't order that item again in the future) and the reply was "we just got slammed with customers." No apology was offered. I would think they would know that on a Saturday morning they will get customers, but they seemed surprised and unprepared. Their coffee was the worst I've ever had. My pancake was cool, chokingly dry, and overcooked--the butter wouldn't even melt--and my sausage was mediocre. I didn't want to seem as though I wanted something for free, so I waited until after we paid and mentioned it to the clerk. She said the pancakes always take the longest...but that would mean that my food should have been fresh and hot and the other meals lukewarm, wouldn't it? She didn't apologize, and acted like it was a great inconvenience to her. In my opinion, she at least could have offered to pass the info along to the manager. Couple the poor food quality and the combatant attitude with their depressing interior and exorbitant prices = we won't go back, ever, and we were sorry we tried them today. read more
