It's really a shame how poor service and management can ruin a restaurant. For many years I have enjoyed First Watch. I have patronized numerous locations. I have been going to their Pikesville location for 4 years. NOT ANYMORE! Let's start with the rude man who is the Host/cashier. He seats folks however he feels like rather than when they came in. Today was the last draw! He sat two women who came in after I did before me. Say what you will but "coincidentally" they were black and so is he! The feckless manager offered no help. This arrogant front man is mishandling his position while the manager retreats to the kitchen. I know several customers who have abandoned the Pikesville location for the Owings Mills facility. Can you believe ONE pancake is $8.29 as of December 2025? The description says they are humongous but...let's be real, a singular pancake could NEVER be worth that. It's so sad to witness. First Watch used to be such a yummy, consistent treat but now... Shrinkflation at its finest. All portion sizes have decreased, and the prices have gone up. There was a good amount of avocado on my toast but the bread they now use is a shell of its former version. The cheese grits were enjoyable and the eggs were fresh. I also believe my mother enjoyed her double bacon Parmesan hash but, overall, the price tag is no longer worth it. The service left a lot to be desired as well. Major sigh. read more

Nice brunch. Our family stopped in for brunch on a snowy spring morning. We had a nice time. We had donuts that were OK, not very warm, strong, nutmeg taste, nice gem on the side, but the chocolate sauce was too syrup. I had eggs plus salmon that was good, the vegetable hash was delicious. Nice place to eat with a deli breakfast type of menu. It reminds me of the Silver Diner, but more expensive. Definitely good for a small group. The dining area is not large enough for a big group without reservations. The speciality drinks are fine if you want extra richness, though the coffee is good also. The pancakes are very large and really one is plenty. Especially if you are getting with eggs etc... Sundays can get very crowded. Let me start with Caelow our most excellent waiter! Even behind the mask I could see Caelow's huge smile . He immediately came over and got our drink orders. He was ready to answer questions about the menu and even grouped the food I ordered into a "trifecta " which was cheaper then ordering À la cart. I ordered the multi grain carrot cake pancake with pecans with turkey sausage and potatoes Omg! The pancake was heavenly the shredded carrot pecans, and raisins weren't overwhelming, but just the right balance of each and the flavors were warm and comforting. The potatoes were seasoned and browned crispy The turkey links were just as good as pork links so you didn't feel like you were missing out on anything. Also, social distancing is observed. Staff wear mask and gloves. There are 2 huge bottles of hand sanitizer in the front for everyone to freely use. I also noticed after each customer the has finished the table and seats are sanitized. I've been here many times over the years and each time I come here the food is delicious, it's hot it's freshly made and the service is even better. The wait staff is efficient they are great and listen to the customer if they have an allergy like a gluten allergy or a specific need with the food they are ordering. Today was no different and they were wonderful. Today I had the special strawberry tres leches French toast and it was everything I imagined it would be. It was delicious, very filling and I will get that again. Since I get emails from first watch I've been getting emails about that new french toast for about 2 weeks and I'm glad I was able to try it today. First watch is definitely a staple restaurant for breakfast and lunch and I will keep coming back especially to this location because they really know how to please the customers who come in. read more

Great ambiance, spotless dining area, and a friendly staff. My girlfriend and I walked in on a Monday afternoon for a late breakfast/early brunch, and the service was phenomenal. Our waiter was attentive, accommodating my girlfriend's picky eating habits with ease, and made sure everything arrived promptly. Wish I could remember his name! What did I order? A single pancake, the Bacado omelette (swapping pork bacon for turkey sausage), and a side of fruit. I devoured everything except the fruit cup. Portions were generous and satisfying. My girlfriend went for the eggs benedict--she loved it but only managed two bites . Highlights of the visit? They heated the maple syrup in the dispenser (see photo) and it MAKES SENSE, a lot of places do not do that! An adorable older woman, probably in her 80s, stopped by to ask what I ordered because my Bacado omelette looked so good. She and her husband were the sweetest. Eat, live, and enjoy life, people. Had an issue today where I ordered through DoorDash, and the food never came, so while talking to an agent on the phone to get my money back, I went to the restaurant to order in person. Gary Donovan, the operations manager, was incredible. He put my order in, put a rush flag on it (since I'd been waiting for my original order for almost an hr by that point), and was super apologetic/friendly, even though the issue did not lie with the restaurant. He even comped a drink; I'd ordered a butterfly haze drink and I don't think he heard me so it wasn't included in my original transaction, but he declined my order to charge me for it once I realized. Gary and his team were superstars and ensured that I got my food quickly and efficiently. I'm so appreciative! read more

I came across this restaurant as I was planning my trip to Baltimore. I sent it to my friends and told them that this would be our Saturday Brunch location. Thanks to Yelp I added my party to the WaitList once I arrived to ensure we were in line as I anticipated a wait. Once we were all on location we walked in and we're greeted by the hostess. Upon providing her my name she checked me in and advised me of the wait. To my dismay I learned that your time on the waitlist doesn't actually start until you go inside and check-in. This is something to keep in mind for those who use the waitlist option. The anticipated wait time was 25-30 minutes, however, we were seated within 7 minutes. Great way to Under promise and Over deliver. The ambiance of the restaurant is very casual. The design is FarmHouse themed and super appealing. The neutral color execution allows for the barn decor and doors to be the eye catching elements of the room. It is a beautiful setup and puts you in the mind of a farm fresh meal. Great thinking from whoever came up with this concept. Upon being seated it took a few minutes for our waitress to come to our table. As the restaurant was full it was understandable. Once Emily arrived at our table she was very upbeat, full of smiles, and delivering charismatic customer service. She took our drink orders and allowed us more time to review the menu. I decided on the Carrot Cake and Pecan Pancake with a side of Bacon (well done). The Carrot Cake and Pecan Pancake was something new for me. I love all three elements which caused me to be excited to see what they would be like combined. The pancake does take up the entire plate just as described on the menu. The pancake has a nice balance as though it is carrot cake themed it doesn't lose the foundation of being a pancake. I was very pleased with the flavor and portion of this pancake. I did use syrup with it which allowed the cake element of the pancake to come out. The good thing is that the syrup is not overly sweet so it didn't overpower the flavor. The bacon was exactly as I requested, well done. The slices are meaty and a good cut allowing you to enjoy the rustic natural pork flavor. Emily checked on us as we enjoyed our meal. Her timing was spot on and caused us to not have a need for anything. Thank you Emily for providing us with great service. Overall this was an enjoyable experience. The food temperature is horrible! This is my fifth time of visiting here. The food is always lukewarm. The breakfast meat bacon, etc. seems like it has been cooked a half an hour earlier. The carrots in cake pancakes are not cooked almost raw and hard. The fried potatoes are little hard rocks that were burnt! I didn't visit this place in a while because I was so disappointed in it. Previously, l've had this same problem but I decided to give them another chance and again same lukewarm food which turns cold in minutes. First Watch, you need to do better. This location in Pikesville is my preferred location for two reasons. My food is always delicious. However the best service I have ever received, seriously, is from Jordon! She is phenomenal with remembering customers, our preferences, and in my case, allergies. On at least two occasions I have witnessed her assisting other patrons, along with myself, with menu items that contains our allergens. For me one option had nuts and I would have been gravely ill if it was ingested. For that we, including most of my neighbors in our building, prefer to dine when she is working. She has a wonderful disposition and her smile is infectious. She sets an example of customer service and menu knowledge that we just don't see anymore. read more

This spot is literally down the street from work, so it was a relatively quick grab and go order. The restaurant is situated in what has to be one of the most complicated parking lots in the entire area! It's narrow, densely packed full of businesses (and cars this day) with limited ways back out to the main street. And the Pikesville driving culture is nuts! Somehow the meal made everything all better. My coworkers and I placed an online order. I myself ordered the veggie omelette, which came with a spring salad and toast with a side of cheesy grits. With the exception of the grits, everything else was a pretty flavorful. The grits were bland. How do buttery grits with cheese taste like nothing? First time coming to First Watch. I've seen it many times and have heard about it from people Sbc the good things about the food, so it was my turn to make my own observation. They have a fairly good amount of selections to choose from with a separate menu for the fall season. I ended up ordering the Parma Skillet Hash. Came with toast and a cup of fruit. The dish was pretty good except I had no Italian sausage in it. What I thought looked like sausage was actually the mushrooms that come in it. That was a disappointment. I still enjoyed the fish but when something is missing that you are looking for, takes the experience away. Especially with it being my first time. I won't make this my first and only time here. They text you when a table it ready. Tables are well spread out. Our server was very nice and the food came out in a decent time. I enjoyed my breakfast tacos. I forgot what my dated ordered but he enjoyed his food. We also got some French toast for the table which was good. Only minus one star because the bathroom wasn't the tidiest. And while they not be fancy, they are pretty good. My order has always been correct, and the staff I've had to interact with (minimal) have been friendly. Nice staff and atmosphere. Unfortunately we just weren't fans of the brunch far they offered here, compared to other offerings we've tried in the past. Specifically, the eggs benedict sauce had a lemon-y nuance that was a bit much and detracted from the overall taste on the palate and overwhelmed the subtle flavor of the egg yolk. The pesto chicken in the quinoa bowl lacked a richness we've come to expect when pesto is included. The salad was otherwise fine, but not anything remarkable. Finally, the chickichanga was interesting in description but lacked flavor; no clear notes of the chorizo, green chilies, and the monterey jack that was listed in the ingredients. Did they miss some ingredients on that day? All in all, not a place that stands out but does the job of filling your tummy if your nearby and looking for a weekend brunch experience. read more
