Easily the worst dining experience I've had since the pandemic. They've been in decline for a few years since the renovation. Seats are not comfortable and the place feels more like a cafeteria than a diner. Still I have a sentimental attachment to them especially when pumpkin pancakes return to the seasonal menu. Wanted to come yesterday but decided today because the weekend crowd is challenging. Took a noticeable while for the server to arrive with seating capacity at three quarters full. Ordered the pumpkin pancakes with a side of bacon and sausage. Literally waited 15 minutes for pancake after my wife's meal and my sides arrived. I took a bite and it was raw. Server never returned so I walked to the kitchen and reported the problem. A different server looked at me with total indifference and asked if I wanted another pancake or to remove the item from my bill. Discretion being the better part of valor I decided to cut my losses and declined the pancake. Got a box and took the bacon and sausage home and made myself some eggs for breakfast. Took a bite of the sausage and guess what? It was raw! To pile on the indignity, the bill came to almost $35. Thankfully we have an IHOP and Double T Diner nearby. read more

I've heard so many good things about First Watch so I finally decided to give it a try. Usually there's a wait but we came during the week and we were able to get seated promptly. It took us some time to figure out what we wanted. I finally decided on the biscuits with turkey sausage gravy, side of the million dollar bacon, and this limited summer beverage, called summer blush. My boyfriend ordered the trifecta with turkey sausage. The wait was a little lengthy so when the food came out I was anticipating how good and hot it was going to be. The biscuits and gravy were cold, the turkey sausage did not taste like sausage, it tasted like ground mystery meat, my potatoes were undercooked, the famous "million dollar" bacon was cold, the only thing I enjoyed were the eggs with cheese. I tried the pancakes that came with my boyfriend's trifecta and they were just ok. It tasted like they were missing something. Anyway I sent my food back in exchange for French toast and again they were fine, nothing to jump up about. If you like bland tasteless food then this place is for you. Not sure how this location received 4 stars, I wanted to give it 3 stars but when I think about how boring and cold the food was I take it back to 2 stars. Had a great weekend with our family in Milwaukee and tried this place within walking distance of our airbnb. First Watch is one of my breakfast go-to's, even if I order via UberEats. It's a cute, cool, and quaint spot. The food is always fresh. Their juices are great, my favorite is the Purple Haze. They have a lot of healthy options. They do not serve alcohol (just an FYI). Back when I ate pork, I would get the Parma Skillet Hash. Now, I get the Market Skillet Hash. Both are really delicious. This place is some way I stopped randomly. I've been hearing about this place and noticed they have several locations but never visited the one that's only 6 miles from me. Welp, I visited. I am so sad.... We waited 25 minutes for food that ended up coming out COLD. The best thing this visit is the coffee and tea drinks. The eggs were not over medium and were fried . I have been to First watch on several occasions. Each time seems to build on the experience from the previous visit. The staff is well trained and seem to care about making sure not only are you having a good meal, but your visit meets your expectations. Food is always fresh and served at appropriate temperatures. Also portions are a good value. The options are plentiful and able to address even the most picky eaters I know. Of note their bacon is amazing. The first two times that I had First Watch for lunch, I ranted and raved about my meal. I sometimes tend to be a creature of habit, so I found something that I liked on the menu and ordered the same meal each time. I also ordered the food from another location, so perhaps that made the difference. One morning, we decided to order takeout breakfast. I had the veggie omelet but my potatoes were missing. The order also consisted of the Lemon ricotta pancakes; however, the butter and syrup were missing from the order along with the potatoes. Mind you, the missing items were not discovered until after I returned home with the meals and we were proceeding to eat the food. We called to inform them of the missing items. Initially, the person who answered the phone was nonchalant about the missing items and then suggested that we drive all the way back, at the unequivocal possibility of returning to cold food. The offer did not make sense. Finally, the staff person escalated the matter to a manager, who suggested that we return soon, at which time breakfast would be on them. The following weekend, we decided to place another order. When I arrived to pick up the meals, the manager asked what happened with the meals the prior week, so I had to explain the situation again. Nevertheless, they replaced the meals. I also checked the bag to ensure that everything was present this time. As previously stated, I have enjoyed my prior selections from another First Watch and never had a problem. Only this time, I was eating my omelet and found something questionable mixed inside of it. I am not sure what it was, but it looked wiry in appearance. I took a picture and wanted to make the restaurant aware of it, but I decided against it because this would be a second time with a problem. For that reason, I discarded the remainder of the meal. Thereafter about an hour or so later, my daughter became nauseated and could not get out of bed due to extreme nausea. Within the second hour, she experienced two bouts of projectile vomiting accompanied by continued extreme nausea. Unfortunately, this was a pattern that continued throughout the remainder of the day. It was not until later the following day that she began to regain some feeling of normalcy. Though it could have been purely coincidental that the unknown object was in my food and that my daughter became ill on the same day, it was food for thought (no pun intended). While she was eating the Lemon ricotta pancakes that she enjoyed from another location on a few occasions, she asked me to look at her pancakes because she thought they had a strange appearance. When I looked at them, I told her that the pancakes could have been either undercooked or perhaps condensation from the sweating container had absorbed into the pancakes. Truth is, I really did not know and still do not know. After that experience, I personally could never eat there again. I am somewhat disappointed because I thought it would be my occasional go to place for breakfast and lunch. read more

In Maryland for the weekend and decided to grab breakfast here. It had really good yelp reviews so my expectations were here high. Also love that they had the option to join the love waitlist via this app so was able to join it prior to arriving. When we arrived i checked in with the host and the 3 minutes later we were seated. It was a very nice place with a lot of natural lighting and spacious. We were seated and then greeted by our server about 10 mins later (a bit longer than expected but it was a bit busy) Our waitress was very sweet and took our orders pretty quickly. We got our door about 20-25 mins later which was reasonable. I loved my egg bacon avocado arugula sandwich. It was just was i wanted. Listen, the way the food just hits every spot I can not even begin to explain. I ordered the work's omelette with potatoes, roast beef & havarti sandwich with tomato basil soup, a blueberry muffin, and a kale tonic. Firstly, the potatoes were cooked to a perfection. Not too crunchy not too hard. Seasoning was also on point and not too salty. The omelette was really good. It was filling and they did not skimp on the meats. The RB & havarti sandwich, omg! I think this and the tomato basil soup was the winner. The sandwich was so flavorful and juicy! The soup was not too brothy or thin. It was very hearty! The kale tonic is always a winner in my book. We came here for brunch on Saturday morning. This was our first time visiting First Watch, and we were excited. The line was pretty long but thankfully we checked in to the wait list on the drive there. We were seated about 7 minutes later. Our lovely waitress started us off with our drinks. I got the new Summer Blush beverage which is Fiji apple, pineapple, watermelon, cane sugar, and mint. We both got the Traditional Breakfast. I got french toast, scrambled eggs with onions and red peppers and Monterrey cheese with the Million Dollar bacon. Hubby got chocolate chip pancakes with scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and the Million Dollar bacon. I am somewhat of a french connoisseur so I always have a high standard when I come to breakfast spots. I was not at all impressed with their french toast. It came with a berry compote that I enjoyed, but it was average. We felt that it was dense and dry. Also, it was only 1 small piece of French Toast. The portions aren't big. Now the eggs and bacon? The Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos were amazing!!!! I'm always so skeptical of getting tacos but everything about these tacos were delicious. Very importantly they did did not fall apart while I was chomping on them! The eggs were so fluffy, fresh, and light! The wheat-corn tortillas were amazing, they tasted so fresh and homemade, it wasn't dry at all. The avocado and the pick de Gallo were in perfect ratio!
