Service was ok...seemed to be overwhelming for thw staff evwn chaotic at times. Food was mediocre at best....requested hard scrambled eggs, they were runny, crisp potatoes, thwre wre but solid on the inside. The food was great! Sadly the service was not,our server didn't check on us when they brought out the food and we didn't get syrup until we finished eating.Then they messed up on my friends dad order and redid it and they took for ever so we just left and out server knew we did he apologized but never gave us the receipt and just left so we had to yell in the kitchen for him(not very loud) and he was like we are boxing it trying to make us pay for it then he finally took it off our check. Oh First Watch ... I have such a love/hate relationship with you, but today is the end of the line. This is the first time we have been back since January, and we were quickly reminded why we stopped coming here. We were seated right away, which was great. The tables are all properly distanced and were being disinfected (nice). And then I noticed both of the coffee mugs on our table are dirty. And then we sat and waited. And waited. Finally our server showed up. No apologies for the dirty mugs or the wait time, but he did replace them. We were there so long we already knew what we wanted to order and he seemed put out that we wanted to order more than just our drinks. We got our drinks (and clean mugs) and then no sight of our waiter until after our food was delivered. No offer to refresh our coffee or water. We felt invisible. I will say the food was good. For onion haters like myself, I learned not to order anything with onions here as it seems like whenever you would order something and ask them to remove onions, they doubled up on them. Every. Single. Time. So my new go-to is avocado toast. It is very good. But after today's service, we are done. There are many other great restaurants I will give my money to. read more

So good! Had an elevated egg sandwich which was eggcellent. Everybody else's food looked good too like the biscuit and gravy, omelettes, pancakes. Simple fresh great breakfast fare. It took 50 min to receive our food from when we ordered it. The food was delicious however the time that it took to make was unreasonable.

Food is decent, potatoes were way over salted this time. We had about 15 minutes wait to be seated and we ordered our breakfast with our drink order...then the wait began...it was approximately 30 minutes before our food came out and not sure our waitress, or anyone, was by in that time to check on us. The final straw is the 30.06 sign on the front door, I won't be back there, I don't frequent establishments that trample constitutional rights. read more

Good service, excellent breakfast with good variety from traditional Belgian waffle or eggs and bacon to a variety of eggs benedict selections, omelets, pancakes, etc. I LOVE the toast and you can buy the bread by the loaf. My daughter loves the lemon ricotta pancakes. read more

We had been going to the Egg & I forever and LOVED both the food and service. We knew they were remodeling and closing to finish up BUT had no idea that the menu was totally changing. The food is good, not amazing. Definitely not worth the wait time and the slow service. Something about the layout, staffing and process of paying bill up front is not working. There's always a huge back-up, hard to move around. I always go hoping this time around it'll be a great meal and a positive experience, but I've tried 3 times now and I feel like the food is just fine and the experience is sub-par. The chaos of the atmosphere and overcrowding makes the experience unpleasant. My verdict: avoid on Sundays. read more

Egg and I got bought out by first watch...sounds like medical facility instead of a restaurant. If you came looking for the delicious egg and I menu you will be greatly disappointed. First watch menu has zero egg and i food so don't even bother. Go to poor Richards or original pancake house. My skillet potatoes were burnt and dried out, the scramble eggs taste and look like they were made by a two year old chef. There menu selection seems to generated from hospital cafeteria. Going to recommend all my friends avoid this place now that it has turned into a hospital cafeteria. read more

I had wanted to visit the spot near my home in Highland Village but ended up at the location in Plano after attending an event there. Though the location was busy (Saturday 11am) the wait was short -- for two. Waitress was knowledgeable, attentive and helpful... then THE FOOD. My smoked salmon frittata was delicious. Opted for potatoes instead of salad and they were seasoned perfectly. Friend had shrimp and grits and they were great too. There were other items on the menu that looked equally as good (Belgium waffle, egg sandwich) -- can't wait to try them. read more

Our go to spot for breakfast! Love the pumpkin pancake dish they put on the menu for fall. Consistently good service and great coffee. Sunday's usually have a waitlist but they put you on the list and yelp allows you to check your place in line. It can get kinda noisy in the dining room. This was our first and last visit. We had terrible service. We were seated immediately because the restaurant was about half full. Our waiter walked by our table several times before finally taking our drink order. Once we got our drinks, we waited an additional 20 minutes to place our order. Our waiter kept walking by our table and attending to the two tables around us. He would look and see us waiting to order with our menus put to the side and still not come over. He even went over and was rearranging tables. At one point my husband asked him when he walked by if he was going to take our order and he just walked by. We finally had to wave over the the man who seated us and ask if someone could take our order. Our waiter finally came and took our order. We got our food about 15 minutes later and it was cold. The tortillas on my husband's breakfast tacos were cold and stale and my eggs were cold like they had been sitting out for awhile. There bacon was lukewarm. read more

I've eaten here twice with my dad, and both times the breakfast was cold, and even worse was served on cold plates. We were in a hurry, or we would've sent it back. Although it being cold the food was pretty good. The eggs were cold, sausage, potatoes, and even the bacon! I think the only way I'd go back is if they started serving on hot plates, or if the food was hot. I hope they read these comments because I just read another review similar to mine. read more

I had the kale superfood salad with chicken. The salad was fresh and tasty. They had added healthy items I hadn't considered like lemon, cinnamon maple dressing. I added a melon drink to my order but never received it. I was charged and then the bill corrected. I was running short on time. I'll come back for the melon drink. The food took about 40 minutes to arrive and the waitress never came back to check on us. The food however was very delicious and they got our order perfect! It's hard to beat this place for breakfast. They have a very broad menu--you can get everything from classic eggs to lemon ricotta pancakes to various types of egg benedict. The bread, a thick multigrain, is outstanding. read more

The service( for twice visits) is cold and awful ( specially hostess and the mean woman who wears glasses on her mad face always), and food is just ok but overpriced cross the menu. The worst thing is we were used to have Egg and I at this location and they were just this warm and welcoming breakfast place in the neighborhood. We came back today just to give them another chance but still same ol'. 12:45pm on Saturday, not even 1/3 tables were occupied. Guess people in our neighborhood feel the same way. First Watch was a little disappointing. We went for breakfast Sunday morning and expected a wait. No big deal. We were told 20 minutes but were sat in 10. The waiter was very friendly but we only saw him 3 times and had to flag down other servers when my Florentine came without avocado. The avocado slices that were finally brought were very brown and not very appetizing. (To be fair if they were actually on the bread I probably wouldn't have noticed). The eggs were poached perfectly but were cold and I wasn't a big fan of the mixed green salad. The Day Glow fresh squeezed juice was awesome! I also saw huge pancakes and Belgium waffles coming out of the kitchen. Next time I will try the pancakes. read more
