I expected the turkey sausage to reduce the flavor of the gravy, but this is among the best sausage gravies I have been served. The side potatoes and eggs were well cooked and tasty. We had a mixed experience with our breakfast at First Watch. Some items were great and others were very lackluster. The blueberry lemon cornbread we started with was so bright and flavorful. The barbacoa tacos were loaded with ingredients and super fresh tasting. I would order both again in a heartbeat. I've reached the point where I don't know why I come back every couple of years hoping it has improved. We walked in to a 20% full restaurant without a single staff member visible for several minutes. Diners, take out and those just wanting to be seated all waiting for someone . . . Anyone . . . When the staff finally appeared, we were seated. No coffee was offered. No water brought. The server stopped by and I asked if the heat could be turned on - it was so cold it was clearly below 67. I tried to order the chimichurri hash as it was highly recommended by the people I was with and there was also a HUGE picture of the dish in the back of the menu... oh, and the dish itself was listed as if it were available. As soon as I two of us at the table went to order this scrumptious looking plate... our server told us it was a discontinued item. TOTAL letdown. I don't understand why a discontinued item was being advertised so hard. It should be removed from the menu if it's not available or at least have the servers tell us that from the jump. Craving a nice breakfast or brunch? This is the place! Me and my wife just finished playing pickleball at a nearby Pickleball Kingdom. We were tired and hungry, and couldn't wait to have some good food! It was nice cozy place. I got my favorite breakfast item, which is the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were done just right - soft and runny. The salmon was fresh and smoky. The hollandaise sauce was creamy, tasty but not overpowering. We also got a roast beef sandwich. The portion of the beef was massive. It was delicious, but was a bit on the salty side. We loved the sandwich bread, which was toasty and buttery. It also came with the creamy, tangy horseradish, mixed pretty well with the richness of the beef. We also got a bowl of basil tomato soup, which is aromatic and creamy. I like its consistency, which is not excessively rich and heavy like you may get at other places. It was 90+ degree outside. So we couldn't resist trying their seasonal kale tonic summer drink. It was so refreshing that I thought it dropped the outside temp by at least 20 degrees! The service was excellent. Our waitress and also the manager came to check on us multiple times. Vegetarians and vegans be aware!!!!I have been to several First Watch locations but this one by far had the worst experience at. I made sure with the wait staff that the veggie sandwich came with no meat. I was there to meet a professional contact and half got a bite of something awful tasting I open up my sandwich and it there was a piece of sausage. Since it was a casual business meeting I didn't want her to feel bad or make a big fuss but the server confirmed it was sausage and it should not have made it to my plate. I didn't receive a sincere apology and ofcourse I paid for everything but just terrible service all around and their bathrooms were dirty too. I will not be returning to this location. read more

Brunch done efficiently with incredibly welcoming staff. Also a great place to people watch. It's a tight space and a bit noisy at peak times but it's worth it. My kiddo always has the waffles or French toast and the candied bacon. I enjoy the avocado toast and the hash bowls. Biscuits and gravy platter is also a staple when we visit. The food used to look like the pictures they post... now the tacos are looking sad (picture below) Less than half way full...the poached eggs aren't looking very poached. We visited First Watch in Plano over Memorial Day weekend and had an awful experience. They lost our order and gave us the wrong order. We brought it to the attention of the staff and they admitted they lost our initial order. They tried again but also missed items and the food was so cold it was difficult to eat. They added surcharges for items on the receipt even though those items were not delivered to us. The eggs were simply awful. The tea we ordered was cold. The whole experience took over an hour. Even the pancake was burned at the bottom. We spoke to the manager, Miriam, and she could not have cared less. Awful experience. One of my favorites breakfast restaurant just disappointed me. Since I'm vegetarian I made a special request, it wasn't too busy, my server didn't take notes about anything I was impressed because 'he felt able to memorize everything: drinks, appetizers, main dish for two people' Food came out fast but my special request was totally ignored, and the options my friend made about her dish came wrong too. I let him know but his face was like he doesn't care or even worst like was mad, he just replied he ring in the food in the right way but blamed cook lines. I'm a vegetarian and I didn't see too many vegetarian option as almost every item had meat in it which I found it to be a bit disappointing. I also didn't see a common Texas item like Migas. Maybe, this establishment is headquartered in a different state. Anyway, I thought I'd mention that. I decided on veggie burger(came with mixed greens)and coffee. My guest had eggs Benedict with lox and fresh squeezed OJ. He said he loved their water(they left us a pitcher of water and coffee pot), bc it was filtered. My veggie burger was really good, but unfortunately, I was still hungry, so I ordered avocado toast and it was delicious!! Our server was very polite, nice and attentive. We eat here occasionally at lunch. Every visit is different faces. My favorite recent experience with the Kale Superfood Chicken Salad. It came out with no chicken... When I brought that to the waitress' attention she had to get a menu to make sure I wasn't mistaken. It took them so like to make it that They brought the chicken out after I finished the salad. Great to have this First Watch pop up so close to our neighborhood. The food and service is a cut above for a breakfast joint and this location is well staffed and well run. I come here with my son sometimes and we'll get the traditional breakfast with an added multigrain chocolate pancake - results in us both waking away happy! I also like their "pay up front" setup so you can get going whenever you're ready. For an added bonus I'd also say check out the patio - it is somewhat "tucked away" with some decent separation from nearby Custer and some nice space. read more
