In town for a 5k and needed to fuel up after, this spot is where we landed for brunch. It's obviously local fav because it was slammed on a Saturday morning. We were seated in a booth right beside the front door, so we had people basically standing on top of us during the visit. The server was pretty on top of things and kept us taken care of on beverages and food orders. I had a two egg breakfast with sausage, a fruit cup and banana nut pancakes. She had the honey berry pancakes with bacon. My meal was tasty, eggs and sausage as expected. Her pancakes were very thick and crumbly, making the experience less than satisfying. Lastly, this spot is very loud! People talking loudly, kids screaming, plates clanking, which made it hard to have a conversation and this visit much to be desired. The food was okay, but the vibe a bit much. I probably wouldn't come back.

I ordered "The Great One" off the senior menu which is for anyone over 55. Two pancakes, an egg and a sausage link for under $10. The service was good. This location is huge and wide open.

Food, service, and ambiance was wonderful! We were immediately sat since it wasn't too busy, and food came quickly and we were checked on frequently. We got an iced vanilla latte, the pumpkin pancakes, the chocolate chip banana pancakes, the chorizo chilaquiles, and the south of the border skillet. Both skillets were PERFECT- the chilaquiles have sour cream and are overall a little bit saucier than the south of the border skillet, but they're both equally delicious. As for the pancakes, while good, the chocolate chips are on top rather than throughout the pancakes, but there's ample cream and anglaise to dip each bite into. We subbed the specialty pancakes for the plain ones that come with the skillets, but this was still lots of (really great) food!

I always drive by this spot and decided to try it. We got a savory dish and sweet dish and would definitely opt for the savory option. The veggie skillet was the perfect amount to share with someone and was filling without being overly heavy. On the other hand the French toast sticks were not for me. They were deep fried and coated in cinnamon sugar. Personally there was too much oil for me and it was too sweet for me (and I normally have a sweet tooth). I will say the staff was really sweet and the interior was very cute. I also got a couple of to go around pancakes and brioche French toast and they were on the drier side so would not get them again. I would come back only for the veggie skillet.

Parking: Free parking - located in a shopping center. Interior: Clean. Also has patio seating. Service: Excellent. Attentive. Food: Just mediocre - ordered the corned beef eggs benedict. Drinks: Bloody Mary was just okay. Overall: Nice interior decor but found the food to be average.

Food was absolutely delicious! I loved how the pancakes weren't sickeningly sweet but rather perfectly complemented the skillet. Service was quick, and I loved the cute decor inside too!

Meh. On this day, I was not thrilled with the food at all. The biscuits were of an odd texture. The gravy, on the other hand, is as very smooth and creamy. Could have used a bit more seasoning for my taste, but still quite good. The pancakes were tasteless. Really? Not worth coming back for at all! Lovely space and friendly staff. May be worth another try in the future with different menu items, but today was not the day.

It was decent breakfast. Good service. Very cute restaurant, and loved the decor more than anything. The coffee was good and strong too.

Oh man, I hate leaving bad reviews but if I am going to call it like I see it, sometimes I am left with no other choice... We were excited to come here. We had seen the place when driving by, read the reviews etc, and wanted to try it for ourselves. For two weeks this place has been on the books. We were so excited when we finally were getting to try them. Entering we liked the ambiance. It was a little loud, but the aesthetics were good. We were immediately greeted and seated. Then a series of awkward waits began. It was about 5 mins before our server showed up. We ordered drinks but were not quite ready to order our food, as it was our first visit and the menu is extensive. We told her we'd be ready when she brought our drinks. That was another 10 minutes, so long in fact she apologized and said she was putting in an order. We ordered our food and waited again. At 35 minutes in, a runner came to our table and we FINALLY got our food. But we could only look at it as we had no silverware, and no server. So, after a few minute wait my wife got up and and found the manager... you'd think things should get better right? Nope, it took just under 5 minutes to get silverware, meanwhile our food began to cool. When the manager finally came back she gave us our silverware and I made a comment that our visit was really off to a rocky start. Before I could give any account of our experience, she just said "sorry" and walked off....we would not encounter her again until after another awkwardly long wait for our bill, when our server had again disappeared and my wife went to find her or the manager, whoever she found first. Let's talk about the food...The food was REALLY good except for the pancakes which were a bit too dried out. Like dried out enough the butter would not even soak into them. Oddly, a place that has "pancakes" in their name served up some dried up, probably under the heat lamp for way too long, crispy pancakes. My omelette though and the accompanying hash browns were delicious! Like normally I would come back for kind of deliciousness! But, service can ruin an experience, and while the kitchen rocked their part of our experience, our server and the manager did not, so before we were even out the door we were saying to each other we do not need to come back. I really had super high expectations for this place because it is so adorable and has the cutest decoration ever! I feel like the ambience, the menu, and the actual delivery do not match up. The service was not bad, our server was good and checked on us regularly as well as gave us good recommendations on menu items. I did not have a huge appetite, so I just ordered the gluten-free toast and some coffee which was fine, my toast was actually really good for it being gluten-free bread and the coffee was nothing impressive but it did what it needed to. My husband ordered a biscuit, which was not super fresh which was strange considering we got there within an hour of them opening. He also ordered the cranberry walnut oatmeal, which he did like, they definitely were generous with the cranberries and walnuts, and the oatmeal did come out nice and hot. He also ordered a hot tea, which was really just hot water, they only put one teabag for a whole little teapot, and no matter how long it sat there it was, just hot water. At first, we didn't notice that it was only one teabag until he was halfway done with his food and went to pour his tea and it was still colorless and flavorless, and we saw there was only one bag in the pot. For a pot that size you definitely need two teabags. We left it alone since he was already finishing up and we were ready to go. It is definitely a cute spot, but again, the food expectation for how glamorous it is did not match what was served. I might be willing to try them again if someone else is paying, their prices are a bit up there and I really would hope that if I spent $15 or more on breakfast plate that the food would truly be impressive.

An absolute gem in Richardson -- we'll definitely be back!…read more La Casita Bakeshop completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming, and our server Diana made the whole experience. She was knowledgeable, genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, and so pleasant to talk to -- exactly the kind of hospitality that turns a good meal into a great one. The food itself was outstanding. We ordered the French Toast and the Birria Brisket Croque Madame, and both were incredible -- beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The Croque Madame especially blew us away; it's the kind of dish you think about after you leave. The side hash rounded it all out perfectly. And then there are the pastries. We grabbed the Mango Sticky Rice Cream Puff and the Amaretto Cherry Basque Cheesecake Brownie from the Weekend Selections -- both were stunning, not just visually but in flavor. The cheesecake brownie topped with those cherry meringues looked almost too good to eat. Almost. Washed everything down with the Salted Honey Matcha and it was the perfect companion to the whole spread. Honestly, the hardest part was choosing -- the menu is so creative and well thought-out that we already have a list of things we want to try next time. And there will be a next time. La Casita has earned a regular customer. Highly, highly recommend.

Great food, but front-of-house operations and management are a total mess…read more My family and I finally visited La Casita Bakeshop over the weekend after seeing a lot of marketing for it. While the food itself was definitely good, the front-end operations were incredibly poor, and the service left a lot to be desired. The serving staff seemed completely untrained and lacked basic common sense, right down to knowing how to properly handle plates and utensils. To make matters worse, we encountered the shift manager, Jesus, on Sunday, May 24th. Not only was he arrogant, but he completely lacked Customer Service 101 skills. At one point, he told us the wait time would be an hour, yet there were four completely empty tables inside and servers were just standing around idle. He is clearly an inexperienced restaurant manager who does not know how to efficiently run a floor or manage a team. A major caution for potential guests ordering takeout: The staff has absolutely no clue how to properly pack food. They packed runny eggs into a standard cardboard box, which inevitably leaked right through the holes and made a massive mess everywhere (see attached picture). On top of that, for a bakery and coffee spot, they didn't even carry basic options like 2% or Lactaid milk. My humble suggestion to the owners is to invest some serious time and guidance into improving your front-of-house operations and management training. The kitchen is doing its part, but the front-end experience and sloppy packaging are dragging the whole establishment down.

Ohhh buddy, let me tell ya--this place is an absolute beauty, eh!…read more So I popped into the Maple Leaf Diner down in Dallas, and I gotta say, it felt like I'd been teleported straight to the Great White North... just with a bit more Texas sunshine, eh? First up, the pirogies--holy moly, these little pockets of joy were just unreal. Perfectly soft, stuffed to the brim, and fried up just right. I'm pretty sure if my tasted these, she'd give a polite nod and say, "Not bad, eh?" Then came the pot roast poutine, and let me tell ya--this isn't just food, it's a life experience. You've got those crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds (as they should be, eh!), and gravy so rich it could probably pay rent in Toronto. And then--BAM--tender pot roast on top. I nearly stood up and sang "O Canada," no joke. Now the Canadian Eggs Benedict? Ohhh, beauty. The peameal bacon was thick, juicy, and cooked just right, sittin' pretty under those poached eggs with hollandaise sauce that was smoother than a fresh sheet of ice. Absolute perfection, eh. And don't even get me started on the everyday breakfast. Classic, hearty, and no funny business--just how we like it. Eggs done right, toast that actually tastes like toast (imagine that!), and portions big enough to fuel ya through a full day of shovelin' snow... or, you know, strolling around Dallas. All in all, Maple Leaf Diner absolutely crushed it. Let me tell ya, the service was so fast and smooth, I thought I was dreaming eh. Great food, friendly vibes, and enough Canadian charm to make ya wanna say "sorry" when someone else bumps into you. 10/10, would recommend--now pass the syrup, eh?
