Service: My favorite servers are Laura and Katie and everyone is always nice and helpful. Definitely service with a smile. Food: I pretty sure I've everything on the menu at least once. My go to orders for breakfast are the Tri-fecta, Healthy Turkey, Bacado Omelette. Sometimes I treat myself to the Million Dollar Bacon. My lunch fav is Ham & Gruyere Melt with the Sweet Honey Pecan Salad. I like that they offer a seasonal menu too. Brunch Cocktails and Drink: Try either the Sangria or Spiked Lavender Lemonade. Yum! Bottom line: Had a tasty Smoked Salmon/Roasted Vegetable Fritatta for brunch. I would appreciate a bit more on the portion size for this menu entry, but enjoyed it. Service was good for the most part. The Deets: I found myself around Lake Boone Trail one Sunday afternoon, and since it was brunch time I decided to walk down to First Watch. There were a lot of people there and it was pretty crowded but luckily there was an open seat at the bar area so I was seated quickly. The bar area is bright, clean looking, and next to the kitchen area. I was greeted by the server/bartender who got me coffee and menus. First Watch has a pretty sizable selection for brunch, and looking over the menu I decided to go with the Smoked Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Frittata. This choice is described on the menu as a "classic frittata with Wild Alaska Smoked Sockeye Salmon, house-roasted shallots and tomatoes topped with Parmesan, a chive cream drizzle and fresh herbs." I chose not to have the tomatoes on this order. When it came, a few things I noticed...the portion/size of the frittata was a bit less than I had anticipated, mainly. Another was it came with a long slender piece of ciabatta toast and breakfast potatoes...the toast and the potatoes were good but my personal preference for breakfast potatoes are more crispy/crunchy on the outside. I enjoyed the frittata taste as smoked salmon is one of my brunch faves, it was delicious. Service was good, with only noting that I did have to wait a long period before my card was taken to close out my bill at the end. I actually waver between 3.5 and 4 stars here but I will go with 4 stars since Yelp does not have half stars and it was definitely better than a 3 star visit. I can see myself enjoying First Watch again but I think I would explore the menu a bit more for brunch in the future. read more

First off - I love First Watch. The food is always a hit. I typically do the tri-fecta so I don't have to choose between sweet and savory. Their blueberry pancakes are amazing. The eggs and bacon are solid as well. My issue with this latest trip was the service. Out waitress brought our check out about 5 minutes after us getting our food and didn't bother to stop by again. I never got a refill on my water and was so thirsty by the end of the meal. I always think it's tacky to drop off a check that early, but if you do, you should at least check in once more for drink refills. read more

We tried out this new location of first watch on Wednesday at about 10:30 AM for brunch and celebration of a recent grad from Broughton high school. Our server was delightful but seemed to be covering too many tables for one person. The menu is extensive with many choices for breakfast and brunch. Our party for each found some thing different to enjoy from waffles to tacos to the special two for one price of 999 (I chose half of a Cobb salad and half of the grilled ham and cheese sandwich) and the omelettes. We found all the food to be generous and portion and fresh. It was served hot and tasted delicious. This is not fast food so don't go if you are in a hurry. Be prepared to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and food! My husband highly recommends the tacos. He loved the soft shells which are flour wheat combos and the spiciness of the pico. It will give you all of the farmhouse feels. You will feel completely safe dining here during these scary, weird times. They require masks for all staff and guests. You will be able to remove your mask while you are at your table. They provide hand sanitizer if you need it. They also have a full menu online if you don't want their menu. The couple times I have been here, it was not busy at all! They are running on a limited guest capacity. The staff also does a great job of distancing all guests when you are seated. Seven of us went to this First Watch on Sunday after church, arriving around 1:30pm. We were seated right away, and our sweet waitress Katie brought water for everyone quickly. I ordered an omelet with bacon, avocado and cheese with the side salad. Everything was done well, and I could taste and see all of the ingredients that were supposed to be there. The lemon dressing they serve with it is wonderful, light and tasty. Others at the table ordered breakfast items, three different sandwiches and a honey walnut salad. It all looked great, everyone was happy with their meal, and Katie did a great job with a big smile and kindness. One of us ordered a side of million dollar bacon and we all tried it. Wow, it is really good, really different...a little kick to it, but sweet at the same time. One side order was enough for all of us to try. The serving size for the Market Hash was generous and I split it between my hubs and I. We get brunch from here about once a week and it is always great! We loved going to First Watch before the pandemic and turns out it's pretty good at home too. We've gotten a number of dishes from here for takeout and all of them travel really well and are so yummy! I can't stand cold food, especially eggs, but the food is always warm when we get home. This location is also our go-to for special occasion brunches like Father's Day and Eid. The staff is extremely nice and, the one time our order was wrong, they did everything they could to make it right. The food is ready within 10-15 minute of placing your order. *Pro-tip: If you are picking up your order, call it in instead of ordering online. This particular First Watch is hit or miss. The last couple of times I was there, only 5-8 tables were seated, but the service was slow and inattentive. There's no excuse for serving lukewarm or cold food when the restaurant is less than 20% full. The last two times I visited, parts of the omelette were cold and rubbery, while the edges had hardened. The mixed greens that accompany the omelettes are always good as are the waffles... as long as they arrive while still hot! There's nothing worse in a breakfast restaurant than cold butter sitting on top of a cold waffle. The grits are also really tasty, though quite salty and a small portion for the price. My server last time was a bit patronizing about everything, and for some reason, felt compelled to ration the jam. When I asked for jam, I was allowed a scant tablespoon, barely enough to cover half the order of toast! When I asked for more, the same thing happened. Having recently learned that they use Smucker's (it's still good, though not a fancy organic brand as one might think at First Watch), I'm not sure why he was so stingy.
