This place really surprised me. We were just looking for a good spot to get a brunchy/lunchy type meal on our way to the coast, and new there would be a lot of options in this area. So we pulled off, took out the trusty Yelp app, and this place popped up. Pulling it, it was clear that they were popular and busy. We went in and there was a wait, about 15 minutes. We decided to hang around instead of worrying about "making good time" and are glad we did. Once we got a seat, we received great service. Our server always kept our drink full, and checked on us just enough. We never felt like we were searching for her. Looking at the menu, I was surprised to see that the prices were not unreasonable, even though it's a very trendy place. in fact, they had a $10ish lunch menu available with a few selections that even included a drink. I was more in a lunch mood so I went that direction, and got a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Food came out hot and in a reasonable time even with a full restaurant, so this is a well oiled machine. For the price, I was pretty impressed. I would say the sandwich was about the size of your average CFA chicken sandwich, but had a bold buffalo flavor that I liked a lot. They didn't skimp on the fries, and the ranch complemented it perfectly. We finished up and our server was on top of things getting us the check, so really we still made "good time" on our drive to the coast. This was a really nice spot for breakfast and brunch. Everything was excellent. We were put on a waitlist, but it was only about a 15 minute wait before we were seated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal. We ordered the mimosa specialty flight, which included Cloud 9, Tequila Sunrise, Blue Lemon Drop, and Creamsicle. It was a fun and tasty selection. For food, we had the Breakfast Tacos, the All American, and the Shrimp and Grits. One of the dining clubs I'm in met here for a fun Saturday treat between Christmas and New Years. It was one of those warm late December days, sunny and crisp, but we sat indoors, looking poking out through the large window to their deck. They have a rather large menu for a Brunch place -- one side is drinks and the other is food. Drinks - mimosas, fancy coffees, and "espresso" martinis were the headliners. I got their basic espresso martini. They use cold brew rather than espresso, and they put in drizzles of chocolate syrup, so it's very sweet. Also, what's with the half-dozen coffee bean garnish? Three is traditional, so is six just doubling that? Anyway, it's not bad, fairly boozy, just really sweet. I went with the eggs Benedict. It comes with grits or cottage fries, which I ordered. They were mostly good - a bit over cooked and dry, but serviceable. The Bennie itself was the barest minimum. One this, tasteless muffin, one small slice of Canadian bacon, and a nicely poached egg. There was a generous amount of hollandaise sauce with a great flavor, but it just felt kinda phoned in. One of my friends had a western omelette while he liked. Another had the BLT and Bloody Mary, and she said both were very tasty. Overall, we were all happy with the food but no one felt it was worth the drive to return in the future. read more

Brunches in Cary is located in the Crossroads Shopping Center. The shopping center has plenty of parking, but the spots closest to the restaurant might not be available. I did find a spot close by so maybe someone just pulled out. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so there may be a wait for a table. The restaurant does not take reservations, so it is first-come, first-served. We were a party of 8, and I was told the wait for our table had been 45 minutes. A smaller-sized table might have less of a wait. There is also seating at the bar and tables on the patio outside. The decor is simple and welcoming. The restaurant could use some sound dampening, as it was loud inside. It was hard to hear the waiter and those at the same table. The menu is good-sized with a variety of breakfast and lunch options. One side of the menu is devoted to beverages. You can order chicken and waffles to avocado toast to eggs benedict to omelets to burgers. I ordered the eggs benedict as that is what I tend to order for brunch. It came with grits or home fries. I went with the home fries. Ketchup and the syrup were already on the tables. I did like the eggs benedict as the eggs were runny and the hollandaise sauce was good. I would have liked the home fries to be cooked longer. I prefer a more relaxing setting to eat, so I don't see myself returning to the loud environment. read more

I arrived around 8:20am on a Saturday morning. It wasn't busy at all and we were seated promptly. Bridget was our waitress. We each ordered the speciality mimosa flight at 8:28am and revived it around 8:35pm. This was very unique and I enjoyed it! It's always great to see someone outside of the usual flavored mimosas. I ordered all American breakfast with blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, and home fries. My date got the chicken and waffles with grits. Food came out surprisingly quick, about 10 mins after ordering. The pancakes were large and tasty and bacon was crispy! My date said that "Chicken is really good." I finally made it to the infamous Brunches. Each time I've tried, the wait times are so long, but this time, I sat at the bar because it's first come first serve. I started with the All American Breakfast and got the blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberries. The pancakes were soooo fluffy, bacon was perfectly crispy just how I like it, and they were generous with the portion of potatoes. The loaded mimosa flight has vodka so be prepared to have a nice feeling. The bartenders were super cool and friendly. This day they were dressed up like their boss which was pretty funny, but it added to the overall vibe. It seems like it may always be a pretty chill place to eat. I went back to visit a second time the following weekend lol (I know) and sat at the bar again and had to try the chicken and waffles with the loaded grits. I couldn't believe my taste buds when that chicken hit my mouth. It was amazing. Perfectly seasoned OMG. Who talks about the sides in a meal first except someone who now recalls what she's been missing. Now, on to the by-the-sea omelet .... I am a believer that bacon could go with everything. Although bacon seems like an odd addition to a seafood omelet it actually worked -- giving enough salty contrast to the tamer flavors of the shrimp and crab and Swiss cheese. I think they could have gone a little lighter with it because it can be overpowering but not so much that I didn't eat it. And the coffee? Our food was good we ordered chicken and waffles, seafood omelette, hibachi bowl. I must say my omelette was lacking due to the over crunchy bacon that didn't go well and the amount of cheese. We were a group of 6 and waited 40 minutes for us to be seated at 2 different tables at 9:30am. They may want to create a 90 minute table policy. Walked in and the girl behind the counter didn't help us and we waited for the Hostess/waitress to arrive to be greeted. We were sat quickly after and given waters upon arrival. The food was a mix of good and meh. For the prices you are getting a good amount of food, but the flavor is a bit of a miss with a few dishes. The Hibachi Bowl was good, Avocado Toast was ok, the chicken nuggets and Mac-n-cheese were a miss. The nuggets tasted frozen and the Mac-n-cheese was bland. Good amount of cheese though. Our waitress/Hostess was as sweet as can be, attentive and patient. She was helpful with any questions we had and made sure our drinks stayed filled. The biggest negative would be about cleanliness. There is food and who knows what else on the walls, the tables were a bit sticky, and there were tables propped up with napkins that I'm positive have been there for a hot minute. They have a whole menu of mixed drinks and mimosas if that's your thing. They all sounded delicious! For our food we got the Notorious BLT and the chicken and waffles. Both where a real treat. The batter they used to make their waffles was awesome. Had a hint of cinnamon and coconut. (I think they use coconut flour for it) if I right ... such a good, creative idea. It came with a ton of chicken tenders which was nice. My only suggestion would be to have a little better quality maple syrup to complement the delicious ingredients! The Notorious BLT (love the name) was also really good. It came with bacon , lettuce , tomato, two eggs cooked to order how you like, your choice of bread, a spicy aioli / sauce and a fried green tomato and a side of fresh fruit! We were smart and went for brunch at 9am on a Saturday. The weekends can get packed with wait times up to 2 hours. It's not a huge place so keep your groups smaller. No reservations. Since it was still early, the staff was attentive and very helpful. Naomi is fantastic!!! So sweet and personable. The food came out so hot and fresh and bursting with flavor. The chicken and waffles was huge, coming with one large fluffy waffle and 2 chicken breast. The Carolina sunrise was so good with the perfect balance of sweet, savory and spicy with pimento cheese and hot honey. The hot honey does have a kick and I asked for it on the side. Fun and youthful vibe at Brunches in Cary Crossroads Shopping Center. We visited on a Friday morning late June thinking there wouldn't be a crowd. There was a crowd! We got there at a few minutes before 11a and got seated for our party of 5 at 1105a. Our waitress appeared quickly and had to return because we weren't ready to order. She got our drinks and we then ordered. Almost everything arrived about the same time and everyone was pleased. They may have been busy in that kitchen but our food was neatly plated and didn't appear to be rushed. Our waitress checked on us on several occasions as we needed butter and someone needed a condiment that wasn't on the table. In hindsight I was drinking water but never got a refill and my glass was empty before we left. I did notice it was pretty noisy in the restaurant and our table appeared to be the Grandmothers in the house. It was a young crowd and they came in groups ready to brunch. The food was warm and fresh. I had a veggie omelette with a bowl of grits. Not sure if the omelette had all the vegetables listed on the menu...seems like more eggs than anything. But it was flavorful. The grits were okay but needed lots of salt. Overall I was satisfied with my meal and good service. I will be visiting Brunches at some point in the future. read more
