    Avocado Toast Breakfast
    Molly M.

We had a great brunch here! The pineapple salsa on the avocado toast added a refreshing flavor to it. The free biscuits are absolutely perfect and heavenly. Everyone in my group loved their food and special drinks like pancake tacos, stuffed French toast, banana matcha, chicken n waffles, and cold brew. The waitress was sweet and helpful and even on a Sunday morning they got us a table inside right away.

This restaurant was sooo busy on a Sunday just before noon. They were on an hour wait! The bar and high tops are first come, first serve and I was able to snag a high top. Most of the staff seemed very stressed with how busy it was, but service was still good. They had $5 mimosas - yum! I had the Southern Style Benedict with potatoes (you can sub potatoes for the grits) - it was a very large portion.

I'm a Southern girl who hates grits...unless they're from Flying Biscuit. This is the only place I will eat grits because they are actually creamy and flavorful. I was shocked to be seated so quickly on a nice Saturday morning at peak time. And, we were seated in a cozy semi private area with just three high top tables. Win! The food at a Flying Biscuit is always consistent and this location lived up to the reputation. My peach mimosa was so flavorful! Yeah, I'm mentioning a drink before food. The appetizer is a biscuit with apple butter. I don't care if you're counting calories or cutting carbs, you have to have a biscuit! These biscuits are the most fluffy you will have next to those at grandma's house. I had the eggs (scrambled) with chicken sage sausage and of course, grits. I cleaned my plate because everything on it was delicious. Definitely give this spot a try!

    Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast

Something to know about me before you read my review. I am a huge breakfast head. I LOVE breakfast. A weekend morning run followed by a larger breakfast is probably the happiest that I get. And the breakfast here.... It's good. I'll start with the food. We were served a complimentary biscuit with their cranberry apple butter, which was a great start. It's tender and buttery and soft. Top notch. I ordered the stuffed French toast because the strawberry cheesecake version sounded really unique. It was tasty! I really enjoyed it. I also got the potatoes on the side and they were better than I expected. I usually prefer crispy hash browns. These potatoes were of the small, diced potatoes variety, but they were still good because they were cooked well and nicely seasoned. The ambiance and service of the restaurant are the only reason I don't give 5 stars. The service was not the most attentive I have had. And we were at a tiny table that was somewhat awkward and barely able to hold our dishes. I had to stack their coffee toppings bowls just to make it more comfortable. That all said, it's good! Don't lose sight of that. The food is worth it! And there are some unique dishes on the menu worth going back for. I look forward to my next trip!

A bowl of chicken biscuits and gravy all in one!

I ordered the Chicken bisquits with gravy. Super rich and savory. The Hubs ordered the Waffles with grits, eggs, sausage and fruit. Both breakfast entrees enough for two. The biscuits with apple butter are so delish. I love the area and the artwork on the walls here. Service was a little slow but I didn't expect the food to come out quickly.

    Vegan Tofu Wrap
    El H.

I really enjoyed my vegan tofu wrap, and appreciated that I was able to substitute the free biscuit for toast and the sweet potato fries for potatoes. The potatoes were a little too salty, but the spice blend and texture was very good overall. I really enjoyed my meal, and was grateful that there were three types of hot sauce at the table. Kylie and the server and training were very nice and helpful, and it's a super cute little restaurant.

Fantastic breakfast spot! The food was fresh and flavorful! The dishes we tried were delicious. They served fresh biscuits out first before the meal and yum, easily broke apart! Chicken & waffles here is a must! Portion sizes were perfect. The service was just as impressive. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Definitely a place we would come back to for breakfast when we visit Raleigh!

We came by while in the area on a Sunday morning. We Had a Dirty Bird, waffle with chicken, egg and sausage gravy and Avacado toast along with coffee and decaf. We did not wait long for breakfast, they serve you a biscuit and Applebutter while you wait. The biscuits are very good. The Avacodo toast is one slice with chopped tomatoes and onion and balsamic glaze, I had them leave off salt and red pepper flakes. It was very good. The Dirty bird was also good with the waffle being great, light and fluffy. The restaurant is not large but very comfortable for a nice breakfast.

the flying biscuit is a staple and always gets brought up for brunch. i always try to give it another chance but am always disappointed. the food is always aesthetically pleasing but very bland. it is always packed to the brim with a very long wait. the staff is friendly enough, but i don't think it's worth it.

After attending a social walk at Shelley Lake, we were in the mood for some brunch. I wasn't sure whether to choose the iced vanilla latte or a mimosa and your girl got the iced vanilla latte and no disappointments. I ordered the piedmont omelette, and switched the potatoes for French toast. The chicken sausage tastes good, but I wish I stuck with the potatoes instead of French toast. The French toast was a bit dry and overcooked but with my iced coffee and omelette, I enjoyed it. The biscuits and Jam provided after drinks, were yummy. (It tastes better than the French toast by the way). Wait time wise; We went around 11:30, early 12ish and it was busy. It started slowing down around 1:30 when we were leaving. There was a wait for about 25-30mins and the waiting sitting area was small along the entrance way. At times it was too crowded. The restaurant was cute with lots of love and kindness. Overall, I enjoyed the space and food. I would go again, but would definitely try something else.

This is such a great local breakfast spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and their biscuits are wonderful, definitely live up to the name. Everything we ordered was good, nothing over-the-top magical, but consistently delicious and reliable for an easy breakfast or brunch. Big shoutout to our waitress Kathleen, who was so kind and knowledgeable. She knew the menu inside and out and helped us figure out exactly how much food to order for two people sharing dishes which was super helpful! All around, a solid go-to for a laid-back breakfast with great service.

Are there any gluten free items?

Yes, most of our menu is naturally gluten free and everything is labeled on our menu.

Do they serve mimosas al day on saturdays?

    No.

Do they still serve the fried pimento cheese balls? I no longer see them on the online menu.

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

It's been an interesting journey--because while I absolutely respect the tradition, my palate has definitely evolved over the years toward lighter, more elevated, visually beautiful food. That said, sometimes you just have to lean in and experience the classics. Tupelo Honey had been on my list for a while, so during a recent work trip to Raleigh-Durham, I decided to check it off. The location is in a very nice, upscale area--one of those shopping districts where, if you see a Whole Foods nearby, you know the neighborhood is going to be polished, safe, and easy to navigate. Parking was simple in a lot across the street, and since I had a reservation, I was seated quickly on the patio, which was lovely and comfortable. For starters, I ordered the "biscuits for a cause," which is a nice touch knowing the proceeds support employee relief and development funds. They were warm and classic Southern biscuits--exactly what you'd expect. For my entrée, I went with the honey-dusted fried chicken (dark meat), a true Southern staple. It was well prepared, flavorful, and satisfying, especially if you're in the mood for something hearty and traditional. I also tried a cocktail called "The Debutante," which was pleasant and refreshing, and finished the meal with the butter pecan cheesecake for dessert. Overall, the meal was good--solid, reliable Southern comfort food--but if I'm being completely honest, it wasn't particularly memorable for me. I was traveling for work and dining on a per diem, so it checked the box for a dependable dinner in a convenient location. As a larger regional chain, it feels a bit like a rite of passage when you're spending time in the Southeast--something you try once to understand the landscape. Bottom line: Tupelo Honey delivers classic Southern comfort food in a polished, accessible setting. Service was smooth, the patio was pleasant, and everything was executed well. For me personally, it was a good experience--but not one I'd necessarily go out of my way to repeat. Still, as I continue eating my way through the Carolinas and beyond, I'm glad I gave it a try.

I took a seat at the outdoor bar and started with some smoked wings. 5 whole wings, so really 10 wings at most places. Meat was juicy enough, maybe I was hoping for more of a dry rub though. I used the tangy BBQ sauce and sweet BBQ sauce on them, and they certainly enhanced the flavor. I usually like mustard based sauces, but theirs was little more peppery than I wanted Then, per the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the brisket melt sandwich, and it was the undisputed highlight of the meal Muenster cheese, thinly sliced white onion, pickle chips, and a good load of horseradish sauce. The brisket had an amazing flavor, and all the other toppings came together beautifully. But that Union bakery bun is just another level. It's like brioche, it was so soft, but somehow a little more substantial. For my side dish, I went with the sweet potatoes with goat cheese, pepitas, and agave. This was just ok. For me, the potatoes could have been cooked longer, a little more crispness would have really helped. I did think the goat cheese was a unique flavor with a milder ingredient like a sweet potato, but it did work with the other ingredients pretty well. Only one unisex bathroom and it's small, so be warned!

Once we got our table, our server came over and greeted us right away she was very pleasant and nice. We started with the fried green tomatoes and then we got the chicken and biscuit and French toast. Everything was delicious, lots of flavor. I will say the portion sizes were on the larger side. No complaints here. Everything was so good. We were too full to get dessert, but the options looked amazing. The restaurant is pretty big. Also has a pretty decent amount of parking. They also have outdoor seating which we did not partake in but looks like it would be nice on a warmer day. We will definitely come back!

The bones feel nostalgic, but the overall vibe is current and lively. It's the kind of place that feels familiar but still cool. Service Service is where things really clicked. Our server knew the menu inside out and guided us through it with confidence. Every recommendation landed. It also felt like one of those menus where it would be hard to order poorly. The Food The menu leans comfort food with a modern edge, and it's done really well across the board. We started with a Caesar salad with dill pickle dressing, which sounds like it shouldn't work but absolutely does. Bright, fresh, and just different enough to be interesting without trying too hard. The beet salad was also excellent, clean flavors and well balanced. Then came the pimento cheese with fried crackers. This might have been the sleeper hit. The crackers are dangerously good. Simple idea, executed perfectly, and hard to stop eating. For mains, the fried chicken was solid but didn't stand out the same way the starters did. The short rib pot pie, on the other hand, was exactly what you want from a dish like that. Rich, flaky, and deeply comforting. Overall Poole's is the kind of place where everything feels considered, from the space to the service to the food. It's approachable, well executed, and very easy to enjoy.

We opted for a reservation at the bar, and we enjoyed excellent service from Brittany and Kylie. They were attentive and very detailed with the excellent service that we have found out is the norm in every one of Ashley Christensen's restaurants. Our starter of roasted beets had an incredible blend of buttermilk blue cheese with white balsamic thyme, pickled pumpkin, and Marcona almonds. So yummy. Then my husband and I shared the Ricotta Gnocchi that we agree is the BEST gnocchi we have ever had the privilege of eating. So light in spite of a duck bolognese being the sauce. Fried rosemary sparked my home chef mind for future meals! We also shared the Brussels sprout upon Brittany's recommendation. One of the most unique preparations on Brussels sprouts ever with oyster mushrooms and a sherry cream sauce. We typically pass on dessert, but the description of their Pear Tart Tatin coupled with Kylie's verbal description hooked us and we were thrilled to enjoy every bite of the hazelnut praline ice cream that is part of this beautiful dessert.
