This is my second time here. Every restaurant in the area has been super sweet and welcoming. But not today, especially from here. I am NEVER the type to make a yelp review but my experience today was ridiculous. Ive only been here one other time and my second time made me not want to come back to this location. I got there, my server was in a big rush to even put my order in. So i first felt super rushed. Didnt even get a chance to look over the menu. Then, once she gave me my food, she slapped it on the table then was no where to be found.. i was trying to get a side of ketchup for 30 min. Literally had to say excuse me ten times before getting someones attention. Second, my blueberry pancake was cross contaminated with a chocolate chip pancake. So obviously they're not cleaning/using different tools to pick up our food. Lastly, to top it all off, the person who checked me out with my check was BEYOND rude. Was giving me a dirty look the whole time. Never coming back to this location again. read more

We waited about 15 minutes for a table on Sunday morning. The seating was tight in a restaurant that could use more space. The decor was modern farm to table, bright and uplifting. The service was good considering the crowd. Water was served from a chilled carafe. The menu was varied such that most should have ample opportunity to get something they wanted. I choose the classic eggs Benedict which featured smoke ham and tomato on a toasted ciabatta with hollandaise. I had seasoned potatoes on the side. I also shared a blueberry multigrain pancake. The presentation was enticing. Despite the lack of seasoning on each item, it hit the spot. The food was obviously high quality. Servings were large, especially the pancake. We left food on the plates we were unable to finish. It was priced higher than the competition but the value was there. read more

We were a party of 6 on a Sunday morning. The wait for the table wasn't long, but it took over 45 minutes to get our food! Unacceptable, especially when tables around us were being served. The hostess was really the most rude person I have ever encountered. And she really had me f'd up. Was in a conversation with my friend. Our own personal convo when the hostess who had already started off with an attitude turned around to interject in our conversation to ARGUE with what I was talking about (which was not relevant to her or her job at all) and then continued to do so until finally my friend told her to excuse herself and mind her own business. I was so appalled that I was literally getting argued with by an employee simply because she was eavesdropping. All o could do was laugh. Then after that dilemma, we sat there staring at an open table that was the # of chairs of our party for 15 minutes before finally someone in our group asked her why we aren't being seated. she "apologized" and told us that this was our table and she just forgot to seat us. Not even kidding. It was us and a party of 2 waiting in the lobby so there's no reason she couldn't have seen a party of 6 waiting when there was a table for 6 all ready for us. She was lazy and rude, and my party had a good laugh about it at the table. The server was great and very accommodating especially when the kitchen messed up one order FOUR times, then brought out a new order as we were already paying our bill. She kindly removed this charge from the bill and we did not take the food home Eggs & bacon aren't that hard to crack, especially for a place that revolves solely around breakfast. Can get them anywhere, and maybe on the first try. Service is what this business really needs to focus on especially since that's what all of the bad reviews seem to be about. Also, I believe the same hostess is the one that had been mentioned specifically in another review bc the details sound right. 3/6 of my party has worked or still does work in service/food industry and know what the standards are. They were not met by the hostess or kitchen staff today. Unfortunately. We still tipped our waitress 20% because the problems were NOT her fault and she's the one who had to fix them all. This was the best place to go for breakfast in the morning! Fast service and consistently good food. The feel was farmhouse with a modern twist. I loved the milk container style self serve water, table tops and floor design. The seating was more social verses traditional separated tables. I will preface my review by saying that the couple next to us really enjoyed their meal and proclaimed their intention on returning so my experience is clearly my own. My wife and I were seated and then greeted by a waitress who clearly didn't want to be bothered by us. I stress that it was us she didn't want to be bothered by because the aforementioned couple got all of her attention. Glasses and silverware weren't dirty but the water spots were very visible. Once we were ready to order we were asked if it was going to be separate checks. A little odd seeing as though I was with my wife but I can understand. The food came out a short time later. To call the food warm would be generous. The bacon was hard and cold. There was no grease to even suggest it had been cooked even 10 minutes prior. The eggs are really good cause how hard is it to mess up scrambled eggs. My pecan pancake was crunchy. Not just the edges either. My wife had the pumpkin pancake and it was fluffy and light but did not taste good. Our potatoes were cold. Before we had two bites our waitress brought the check and told us to pay up front. We didn't see her again until we were getting up to leave. No drink refills. About two minutes after she sat our check on the table she went to the other couple and brought their credit card to the register herself. After the cold food and colder service we got up and left. We ended up just going to McDonald's down the street who surprisingly had better service and hotter food. Like I said, this experience is just my own. Take it for what it's worth. So my "First" experience at this location. The wait for a seat was all off. They called people that just walked in the door versus the parties that have been waiting, no matter the party size. When seated the waitress had us going back and forth because she didn't know where to seat us (party of 2). Then when seated the waiter said "sorry" coffee?, then asked if we needed more time. Of course we said yes he comes back we place order, we were never asked how we wanted our food or did we want to change anything. He brings out the food and it has greens on it. We tell him he did t give us a option, so then he comes back and ask for the damn lettuce off our plates. LETTUCE! Literally. Then when I told him about the his mistakes, he brings a tab back with all the food charges on there that I just sent back. Then check out I tell I guess the manager and while I tell him the problems, first thing I said was I sent my whole plate back, no one asked if I wanted something different, what was the problem or anything, while telling him this he is staring out the window and literally saying yeah, okay, I'll try to y'all to him, you have a good day. Dismiss me like whatever. Which is fine. It's not like my business or funds have to return nor will my funds stop the business from operating, but you can beat people that I know ask about this spot and I won't recommend it at all. My omelette wasn't even a omelette. The cooks need to do better, the management needs to work with the servers more and maybe it will be a better location. I don't know if the one on Glenwood is owned by the same person, however the employees they hired are so much better. To each is own. Go at your own risk. The server name was Michael. Conceptually almost just like egg n i ( previous restaurant). The bad reviews just bc people are upset it's not egg n i anymore are absurd. I just ate here and they still have all of my favorites and they taste great if not better. I visited this location Apr. 24th and was extremely pleased! It was my first time and I was excited to order a breakfast as it is my favorite meal. They had a seasonal menu available and I immediately found the Shrimp and Grits! It was so fresh tasting and flavorful! So much better than a commercial chain restaurant. On top of tasting great, they were extremely fast! I will definitely be visiting this location again to explore more menu items. Pricing to portion ratio was extremely fair. read more

This was my first visit and I had no expectations. There are few, if any, little breakfast places in the Glenwood North area. The hostess and our server were friendly and on top of things. The menu had a lot to offer, and I was happy with the Bacado Omelet. Bacon, avocado and monterey jack with a dollop of sour cream on top. You can't go wrong with that. It came with a side of potatoes--which were fantastic, and an english muffin. Next visit I'm trying the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl. My only suggestion is to move the register or have the servers take payment at the tables. Long line to pay that had me standing between two tables of people enjoying their meals. It is pretty loud because of the acoustics, so they might miss something. Tried First Watch this morning. Ordered the special brisket hash. Scale of 1 thru 10, I'll give it a 3. Thank god there was Cholula hot sauce. Brisket was this little tiny pieces that were left over from the cutting board. Bacon was half raw in it. One slice of toast, for a half a teaspoon of strawberry crap. At least the eggs were cooked correctly. Coffee was a 6.5 on taste. Should have went to Dennys. Women next to use were discussing the hash . Didn't mean to chime in on there conversation, I think I saved them on the choice. Waitresses dropped off the check. Couldn't pay and get out fast enough. I have been to several First Watch restaurants in different parts of the south and to be fair, the service in Raleigh is good. However, I will never again order the Florentine Benedict. For some reason they don't cook or season the spinach. The muffin was bland and untoasted. Don't know if I was supposed to get hollandaise or not but didn't. We were in Raleigh overnight. My husband and I really enjoy brunch so we picked this location for Saturday morning October 7th. We noted the large crowd and figured it must be good. We were so right!! The coffee (provided while we waited) was fresh and delicious. The manager Paul introduced himself, we told him it was our first time there. He was friendly and efficient as he helped seat patrons, clean tables and supervise the waiting list. All the staff appeared happy, helpful and were working together to serve customers. Our food was definitely worth the wait!! WOW! My husband had the Works omelet and I had the Classic Eggs Benedict. The accompanying seasoned potatoes were delicious as well. Paul came to our table and checked on us after our food arrived. We will most definitely return!! read more
