Good food for all of us to eat. Egg Burrito, Southern Scrambled and Comfort Break Fast meal were the selections for all of us. Our friend talked highly about the Grits and my wife loved them and was looking for more. I had the Comfort breakfast with sausage links. Little spice in the links which was good, more than enough for the Tater Tots I selected for my meal along with Rye Toast. Our server was spot on the whole time we were in the restaurant, on the check it says his name is DAY. Nice ambiance to the restaurant nice set up and great atmosphere, they have a little gift shop on the way out to pick up a few things if you needed them. One of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh. Their pimento cheese fritters are great. I also have had the burgers, chicken caesar salad wrap, and sweet potato fries. They serve the sweet potato fries with a side of almost like a sweet syrup and it is delicious. Overall, definitely recommend. read more

What I initially assumed would be a party of 4 quickly became a party of 10. Not a problem at all, the team adapted and accommodated (we were seated outside). The group ordered a mixture of brunch/southern comfort/pub food. Our food was outstanding (added a tad bit of salt). Was it the server's suggestion or should I attribute it to the company. Either way it was an enjoyable experience. I ordered (based upon the server's suggestion) salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli mix. My family member- fish and chips. A great restaurant for comfort food! I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my husband for lunch. It was crowded with almost every table taken, but luckily there was a high top near the bar available that the host led us to. The server greeted us and took our drink order immediately. I was extremely pleased reading the menu. They had a ton of appetizing options, so it was almost difficult to pick something. A good problem to have! I landed on sharing the Fried Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer with my husband and The Mediterranean (with a side salad) for my meal. The Brussels Sprouts were addicting. In looking at another location, the name Relish caught my eye. I got on the waiting list just in case. When we got there outside seating was available so we were seated fairly quick on a Friday night. The ambiance is dark and bourbon bar like with bar seating, a dining area with tables and booths and outside tables. There is a section inside which sells sauces, candles, jewelry, etc. The menu is fairly extensive with many options. The Bourbon list was even more extensive. The staff were friendly and service very good. I got the Popper sandwich, which was like a jalenpeno popper on sour dough. Not quite as cheesy as I thought, I'm a cheese nut, but was delicious!. I loved rhe side of creamy cheese grits as my side. Hubs got a side salad, which was quite large, and the bacon jam burger. The bacon jam was the best I've had thus far. Great burger. I highly recommend upgrading your fries to these fries with bacon. It was the best spend of $1.50. They had bottle of wine specials. With every red purchase, the winery donates to help keep the ocean clean. It is a little pricey, but I feel worth the money. We will be back to take another family member for the Bourbon. read more

Visited with my family of 7 for my daughters birthday. The online join list allowed for a short wait time. The dining area is cute and able to seat our group. Hostess and waiter were good. Service wasn't special but solid from start to finish. Their menu was amazing! Lots of great choices. So many that two of us placed multiple orders, because we couldn't decide. The food was really good. My favorite app was the pimento cheese fritters. My daughter got a complimentary order of donuts for her birthday, which was a nice gesture. My first visit to Relish surprisingly surpassed the expectations that were set by a good friend who was excited to take me and my husband there on our recent trip to Raleigh. We got the feta dip appetizer for the table, which was the perfect start. It was fresh and yummy and not too heavy. I enjoyed the dip on the crusty bread that was provided. Choosing what to order was a tough decision but I settled on a pastrami Reuben that I approached with a healthy dose of skepticism. The sandwich was delicious! I got the Santa Fe Burger and it was cooked perfectly medium rare and full of flavor. The menu concentrates on southern fare so be ready for some good old fashioned stick to your ribs type of food with a modern twist. I'm not generally a fan of this dish, but these were the best I've had: solid (though not hard) tomato slices, well-fried, covered in feta bits, with an interesting dip. We followed by sharing three entrees: 1) the Wisconsin grilled cheese sandwich (swap sourdough for wheat bread): good basic grilled cheese, the apple slices were thin and not super crispy, I didn't think they added more than a smidgen of flavor, 2) shrimp and grits: not as cheesy as many, with a little kick to the shrimp, and 3) classic mac & cheese. Classic, but also basic: next time I'll go for something more interesting. We finished off with the banana pudding, which was disappointing: many slices of hard, flavorless fruit. My partner and I went for our monthly lunch. We've enjoyed our dozens of meals there, but something has changed. The prices for the country style steak and fried shrimp sandwich have gone up to over $45 for these two basic meals. I had a beer and my partner water, so with tip it was $56.20. I normally tip well, but our server was more interested in chatting with other employees at the order station. Two things he promised just didn't happen and when I asked for extra gravy for my take home with my leftovers, he said they didn't sell that. All I wanted was a little extra so he brought me a small container and charged me $4.75 for slaw. I asked what this was and he stated they couldn't charge for the gravy so he put this in instead. The food was mediocre at best and not worth the lack of service and falsely added items to my bill. Service needs to improve if nothing else. There are way too many restaurants to put up with this. They were crowded, but that will change with this going on. Go back to the food, service and atmosphere you had in the past. I won't be back and didn't include photos, because the look of the food is not the problem here. I hope your experience is a much better one. read more

Have not been to Relish I a long time, and was quite pleasantly surprised by the food and service. Came in for a weeknight dinner and was seated quickly (they need new benches in their booths). Our server was right there to take drink orders and took our meal order when she returned. We ordered from the "Winter Test Kitchen" menu, starting with the Flash-Fried Half Brussel sprouts. They were seasoned nicely and had a lot of shredded parmesan cheese on top. The only comment about them would be to have some slightly smaller sprouts, a couple of the sprouts were easily an inch or more and quite tough. Also ordered the Slider Trio and they were quite large, took two home. The BLT with a Fried Green Tomato and Feta was well received! The final dish was the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich which was very good and had a lot of Crispy Onion straws on it. The roll was huge and I took the chicken out halfway through and was not disappointed by the chicken, excellent flavor and the toppings were good. The Jalapeno Ranch has a nice subtle heat to it, not overwhelming but it's defnitely there! Overall it is a nice place for a casual dinner and even when it's busy the service was impeccable. The little shop in front of the restaurant had some interesting item for sale including more kinds of Bitter than I've ever seen. Maybe next time, lol, read more

Our party of 9 came in on a Friday night at around 6. We were originally quoted a wait time of an hour but luckily, they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. For the table, we ordered: -Fried Green Tomatoes - this came with six slices, some feta cheese sprinkled on top, and a dipping sauce. They were good but it didn't feel that hot, which is something I would expect from a fried food -Southern Mac (pimento cheese & bacon & topped with cheddar & mozzarella cheese) - this is definitely a good sharing dish. I can't imagine eating a whole thing of this by myself because after a few bites, I was already feeling pretty weighed down. I normally don't love pimento cheese, but it wasn't too overpowering here -Parmesan Brussels Sprouts - I enjoyed these. For some reason, I can never make brussels sprouts at home as good as they do in restaurants. Maybe their secret is just a ton of butter -Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts - I liked these even better since the hot honey gave it a bit of a kick, and it came with bacon bits For my entrée, I had the Shrimp & Grits (lightly spicy shrimp sautéed with bacon & green onion over cheddar cheese grits--served with grilled ciabatta bread). They give you a generous portion of shrimp, which was perfectly cooked, and a heap of bacon. If you need a meal to put you into a food coma, this is it. The grits are cheesy and buttery. It was good but very rich. I was only able to eat half before I had to throw in the towel and get the rest to go. I reheated the leftovers the next day, and it was still pretty good. We were all stuffed but still wanted to try the Chocolate Chess Pie, so we got one slice of that to share. It reminded me a fudge pie. A little too sweet for me. As expected with Southern cooking, the food is pretty heavy. Instead of one person ordering an entrée, I would recommend just ordering a bunch of different things to share, so you get more of a variety. And you're not stuck eating a whole thing of mac and cheese by yourself. read more

We had not been to the Kitchen Table for years and wanted to go back for the ability to play games at our table. We went during brunch hours on a Saturday. The restaurant was not very busy, and we sat outside in the covered patio. We started with the fried broccoli which was great with the vegan ranch. Our main dishes were the avocado chickpea wrap, waffle monte cristo, hot honey chicken tacos, and the dry rubbed wings with pickled things. Everything was good but not exceptional. There were not many vegan or gluten free options on the brunch menu; however, those options were indicated. We enjoyed being able to stay at our table and play games ($10/ 2 hours Fri-Sun). Our server was kind and mostly attentive except we had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. They also helped us find the two games we played. When looking for a dinner spot, the menu at Relish Craft Kitchen & Bourbon Bar called out to us as it looked excellent and had some really nice sounding options for everyone in the party. However, the experience really missed the mark and what looked to be a really promising menu turned out to be a really disappointing dining experience. We were sat at our table quickly and given menus and our waitress took drink orders right away. However, during the course of our dining experience we had three different servers and it seemed a bit chaotic even though the restaurant wasn't full at the time of dining. The food definitely didn't live up to how good it all sounded on the menu. The pulled pork burrito was drowning in a green salsa and had just a small amount of pork within it but everything tasted like the green salsa. The BLT with fried green tomatoes had two of the smallest fried green tomatoes possible and the bread was saturated with butter and not grilled that well. The panini with salami, mozzarella and basil was cold on the inside the cheese not melted at all. It's a shame because this seemed to have some real potential and maybe it was just an off night but there were just so many hiccups with this visit that it made it a pretty rough night out for dinner. read more

Was so excited to try this place and it did not disappoint! My friend and I ordered the fried green tomatoes, fried black eyed peas and fried pickles to start (we couldn't choose!). For entrees, we got the Big Cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup and the Country Fried Steak. Everything was delicious! The grilled cheese was one of the best I've ever had. I wish the fried pickles were juicier, but they were still enjoyable and came with a dipping sauce. My wife and I visited for the first time on 8-8-26. The service was quick, the waitress was excellent, the ambiance was great, and we plan to go back fairly frequently. The prices seemed high, but the food seemed very high quality, making the expense justifiable overall. I had fish and chips, but substituted fried green tomatoes for the chips. Both were quite tasty. The cod portions were huge. I wished I had received more than 4 tomato slices, as the 4 I ate were excellent. My wife had a grilled cheese with fries. She was quite pleased. The restaurant was clean and had a 97 percent, A, sanitation grade. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken quickly. I highly recommend this restaurant, as it is one of my favorite in the Raleigh area. Our experience was much better than a recent experience at a Red Lobster in Fayetteville where the flounder was very greasy, and tough to chew. The fish here was perfectly cooked and beautifully served. I plan to order the same meal again. Three suggestions: 1. Add fried flounder to the menu. 2. Increase portion size for the excellent slaw and fried green tomato sides available with the fish and chips order. 3. Lower prices. And, as I advise for almost all restaurants, have more and/or larger restroom capacity and keep the restrooms clean at all times. Lastly, $4.00 for soft drinks or tea seems high. read more

Walking in, I thought I had stepped back in time by about 45 years. The carpet, the art, it felt like something out of the 1980's. And most of the clientele looked like they were right at home, it was a decidedly more mature crowd, especially at the bar. Our server seemed to be a little shy and nervous. Several times, I couldn't even understand what he was saying. Anyway, we started with the Brussel sprout halves, just a great appetizer. They're tossed with their own seasoning and a little parm. I would have had no trouble taking the whole thing down. The turkey Reuben was a good sandwich, maybe a little more turkey would have been good though. Also it came out when we were still finishing the appetizer, so the timing was definitely off. But the Reuben had some slaw, Swiss cheese, and comeback sauce and with the toasted bread, it was a fine sammich. I got the side salad, really good as well. They did come together on a round metal plate, which I thought I would be more likely to see at a BBQ joint. We were pretty much done at that point so we declined dessert...at first. The waiter asked if it would be separate checks or one. Since it was just past my birthday, my friend offered to treat. Then the waiter informed us that because it was my birthday, we got free mini donuts. And that's about the time the angels started singing, I felt God's urging to indulge. And sure enough out comes a brown paper bag, with the grease stains showing through the bottom. The sugar was at the bottom, the hot donuts had been tossed in. Raspberry sauce and chocolate sauce.
