Holy cow, they were good - crispy on the outside, loaded with flavor and just enough spice to give the sweetness a little bite. So good. My husband had the country fried steak and he said it was very good. Not the best he's ever had, he said, but good enough. He wished there'd been more steak and less crust, but the flavor was right on. They were out of the salt and pepper flounder, so I changed my order to the ranch chicken. Ummmm....excuse me. Who says not to order chicken breasts at restaurants? The portion size is SO generous and the chicken is SO DELICIOUS that I, the girl who rarely bothers to take leftovers, boxed up what was left and brought it back to my hotel and ate it as a midnight snack. The grilled zucchini served on the side of it was delicious. If I ever get back, I'll ask if I can skip the potatoes in favor of more of that zucchini! The plate was full and I ended up not eating the biscuit. It tasted very good. Our waitress came to our table and asked what are you drinking? She brought our drinks to the table. Then left, came back a few more minutes and asked if we were ready to order. We placed our order. Might I add it really wasn't busy at the time and the food doesn't take very long to deliver. After we were waiting, a table of nine came in and sat down. They placed their order. Our waitress did come by a few minutes later and drop two pitchers off of drinks for our refills but after this we didn't see her again. The table of nine received their food. At this point we had been waiting for about thirty minutes. I asked a different waitress at this time if she could check on order as it had been a bit since we placed ours. She acknowledged this and went to find our waitress. The other waitress we asked to check on our food then came back asking what we had ordered. Ready to take our order again. I got up and came around the corner to find our waitress going through the tickets at the register. That's when she proceeds to say that she can't find our ticket. That she handed it off to the kitchen but the kitchen didn't have the ticket. I asked her two questions. How did she lose the ticket and how does she not check on her tables? She pushed the blame to everyone else and never offered to make it right. That's when we decided to leave and not wait any longer. When we came back around the corner our old waitress asked the other waitress what we were doing and she said they're leaving. The initial waitress then shrugged her shoulders at us. I asked for a manager and then was told they wouldn't do anything. The service here is awful. I have been coming for years. Unfortunately the waitresses do not care to check on your table nor your order. We just waited over thirty minute for our order that never came. People came in behind us only to get their food. The waitress told me she couldn't find our ticket. No offers to make things right. Told me don't bother talking with a manager because she had been there for thirty years and he would do nothing about it. Wow! Let down.
