I was visiting in the Suffolk, Virginia area And wanted a nice restaurant to enjoy this Saturday morning weather. I looked on Yelp and found this restaurant that had high reviews. It's located in a neighborhood restaurant area and it is very welcoming, the staff was professional and nice. The location was perfect and I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Met my friend here for breakfast. Drive pass here several times a week. When we pulled up there were so maaaannnnnnyy people waiting outside to get seated. However, we went in and was seated within 2 minutes. Our server was EXCELLENT !!! Her smile and pleasant demeanor made our visit so nice. The food was awesome! I highly recommend calling ahead for weekend breakfast to put your name down for a table, especially if like us you roll out of bed late on the weekends. Followed by the pork carnitas burrito which tastes even better than it looks. Filled with carnitas, eggs, hash browns, black beans, Monterey Jack, avocado, smothered in tomatillo salsa this could easily be a meal for two. First of all this place is a chain so you should not expect much. The ambiance is super nice and make you feel like you are eating in an upscale barn; which I really like. This location is very inconsistent with the quality of the food served. Today was a miss for us. Our 2yo child's meal had cold runny eggs (asked for scrambled) and mine were fried then cut up to look scrambled. It was our first time ever stopping into the restaurant, and my mother was VERY skeptical after we sat down & she saw the menu. She said it was a 'millennial' restaurant. Their fall menu was nice; my friend got the Barbacoa Eggs Benedict and loved it. Her fall drink was extremely sweet, almost too sweet to drink. I loved this restaurant! My mom and I went, her getting a pumpkin pancake and I getting a BLTE. Both were great! I also got the mint mocha, and I think it's the best I've ever had apart from Starbucks! the owner even came and helped his employees and speaking of them, all were great servers! the music was appropriate for all ages! it was also so well decorated! Moved here over 2 months ago. I have tried this location 6 times and I was only able to get an order placed once. The one time I was able to order the food was poor at best. Stale breadstick on a salad that had wilted lettuce. Its really hard to mess up a salad but this place found a way. I have been to First Watch locations in Ohio and loved the food. This location in Suffolk VA is just bad. Dining room line is out the door when tables are open so I assume its staffing. I tried to order online today and got a notice they were not accepting orders at this time. I called and no one would answer the phone. Terrible location. With COVID they are serving food and drinks on trays and you take it off yourself, which is isn't bad. Felt a little rushed as my check was brought to me immediately after I got my meal. Arrived and was told the wait time was going to be about 20-25 min (understandable since it was Labor Day and we did not make reservations). At about 25 minutes of waiting I went back to the hostess to get an update of waiting time. She looked at her device and said oh probably will be about 20 more minutes! I told her we had already been waiting longer than what we were told. She then said "oh you are next after them." So we ended up waiting about 35-40 min total. We get to our table and waited another 10 minutes for our waitress. She did bring us water out immediately without us asking for it. Unfortunately, the glasses were dirty and one of our glasses literally had pieces of stuff floating in it. We asked for coffee and it was brought and left on our table. However, no coffee cups were brought and it was at least over 5 more minutes before we saw our waitress again. At one point we thought she had just left as we did not see her until after our food came out and we were halfway done eating. Definitely do not recommend paying the price for premixed Bloody Mary. I am not a drinker and I can usually taste the alcohol in anything and when my friend said there was no alcohol in it I double checked for her. It was probably the lamest Bloody Mary I have ever seen with a great advertisement. The food came out quick and was hot as it should have been. The environment was also nice.
