My wife has a monthly doctor's appointment in The Woodlands, so after we are done we usually stop for a meal before heading home. As it was only 9 in the morning, we opted for breakfast at First Watch which is right around the corner from Methodist Hospital's professional building. The staff is super friendly and we were met with the door being opened for us and a hearty welcome from the front counter staff. We were quickly whisked away to our table and then greeted by the nice young lady that would be our server; she came armed with 2 hefty coffee mugs and a carafe of fresh hot coffee. I had coffee, my wife was already caffeinated for the day so she ordered an orange juice. The juice quickly arrived and it wasn't one of those tiny 4 oz juice glasses but a full size 16 ounce one and my wife tasted it and said, "that really is fresh squeezed juice!" We ordered breakfast, we were both hungry. My wife had the classic breakfast of scramble eggs, bacon, sauteed potatoes, whole grain toast and a delicious jam which she thought had berries of some kind but wasn't sure which ones. I had the Power Breakfast Bowl, which had protein-packed quinoa, Italian sausage, house-roasted tomatoes and cremini mushrooms, kale, Parmesan, lemon white balsamic dressing, EVOO and two basted cage-free eggs. I also had a side order of the sauteed potatoes. The food was served and everything was very nice. The only thing I would find a bit of fault with that both my wife and I agreed that the potatoes were very salty. The second thing is the chairs are hard wooden ones and after 30 minutes or so I was longing for a cushion for my tush to sit on. Today, I tried the A.M Super Bowl! The chia seed made it tasty! Not too much of a fan of their side toast with almond butter + salt. Stopped by First Watch Café on our way to the airport and we are so happy we did! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. From the lavender and fresh mint in the French toast to the aiolis on the breakfast sandwich everything was bursting with complex palate pleasers. And don't even get me started about the breads! The challah was so so good and so was the sourdough and both expertly cooked. All the fruit was super fresh as was the arugula and the bacon was crisp and thick. I've been to a couple of different First Watch locations, and I love the one in Houston, and now I love the one in The Woodlands as well. For some reason, the location in Houston off 1960 just feels very lively. But I liked the vibe of The Woodlands as well, and our waitress was great even though she was quite busy and took a while to bring things out. She did let me substitute mushrooms for the meat in my omlette and the food was a good sizes portion. A lot of times I'm still hungry afterwards that I didn't feel like that here. Also love that they had splenda, because I don't like anything else in my coffee. I was able to take a coffee with me to go was just a huge plus since I had a long day ahead of me, I need to have my little drink. We will be coming back! read more

Was lucky to indulge In the most exotic looking French toast I've seen in my life, and I KNOW French toast. The subtle floral aroma of the lavender butter kindly settled in my mouth and complimented the berry compote. The blueberry compote was nothing out of the ordinary but not average by any means. Felt like I was swimming in a syrupy pool of money with the million dollar bacon. I love the sweet n spicy combo here. The Pineapple Express was also very refreshing yet not too sweet, so it was an easy drink with all the sugary syrup I had between my dishes. First watch still remains pretty consistent with their quality of food. I've not had a meal here I haven't liked. Gave their shrimp and grits a go around today. The shrimp ratio was on pair as were the sautéed vegetables. I was appreciative of the minimal amount of butter as I've had shrimp and grits where my shrimp are swimming in butter and really that's all you can taste. They forgot my ciabatta bread but nothing a quick reminder couldn't remedy. They give you a water and coffee carafes to refill your drinks at leisure. I'd say they need to deep clean their industrial dishwasher and it's leaving residue on all their water glasses which was a bit off putting. Overall service was great, you can pay from your phone via QR which allows splitting of the ticket as well. read more

The honey caramel crunch is really sweet too, I think I would have preferred it with less honey but anyone with a sweet tooth would love it for sure lol. I've dined quite a few times here and I always leave satisfied and happy! It did take a while to get our food but our server was kind and helpful all throughout our experience. We had coffee for the table and there were various creamers/sugar already there for us to use. We had a couple sharables (fruit and donuts) and we all enjoyed our main plates. Our server was great at accommodating someone who wanted a custom breakfast sandwich. Sadly this place was not it instead of ice water they brought a glass jug and a comically small glass the water was semi warm not long into our visit. I ordered the chickichanga or whatever its called. No sour cream the waitress no problem but seeing she didnt write it down i knew she would forget and sure enough a big dollop of sour cream was on my food. She said as she was giving us our food "i know i forgot" and said she would "fix it." As I walk in, i see there are many tables and the restaurant feels very modern, and country like, And our waiter asked us for our drink orders, so I got a Purple Haze, and my dad got a black coffee. I liked the purple haze at first, put I like to put a bit of sugar on it. After 20 minutes, we got our chocolate pancakes and my dads chikicanga. 5 minutes later we got the million dollar bacon- not very good (personal opinion) and my dads blueberry pancake.
