A friend delivered breakfast to my work crew this weekend. I decided to give the seasonal Million Dollar Breakfast sandwich a try with a morning meditation juice on the side. When our was delivered, I glanced at each of our meals and thought, "blimey, I should have ordered something else--mine looks like just a ton of greens." You know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover! The sandwich was hiding underneath all of the greens, once I got it out and sank my teeth in, I had no regrets. I love a sweet and savory breakfast sandwich. THIS was the best I've had yet! When I ordered, I glanced at the details and didn't realize it had honey drizzled on it!!! So I was pleasantly surprised and loved this meal. Plus, I loved a green salad, so it was perfect having the salad next to the high calorie sandwich. Morning meditation always brightens my day. I had to drink water in between sips because I don't drink juice often. Next time, I'll probably water it down a bit thus making it last longer. Seeing as this is a seasonal sandwich, I may be ordering it agaim soon. Order it while you can! read more

We came for breakfast and sat for quit some time. People that came in after us were getting drinks and here we sat. We told the people up front and they apologized and said they would send another waitress to us. So she comes to take out order and had an attitude that she had to pick up another table. At that point we should of walked out but we were to hungry. And so another wait began. Everyone around us had eaten and left. Mind you my husband and I were splitting a breakfast so it was only one meal. I grew up in the restaurant business and you don't treat people like that. I ordered eggs Benedict ( classic ) the server was nice and did let me know the kitchen was backed up so that was nice knowiing ! I did inform him I was super picky about my poached eggs ( I let him know if they weren't cooked properly- yellow runny white firm ) I'd send them back . So they were forewarned ! I was finally served about 30 min later and one egg was half cooked ( yellow hard ) abs runny white (?) couldn't figure out how they did that ! But it had taken so long I ddidnt send it back . I hated the bread that served as the base for my eggs and the tomato was an ugly yellow ( not vine ripened as descrived ) the total for my meal w coffee and soda was 19$ I would never eat here again ! It's a gorgeous place aardvark food looks great( in the pictures ) but that " artisan" bread was so hard I actually had to pull the crust from my mouth bc it was too hard to chew thru ! There are ZERO great brunch places with healthier options in Trussville and we would LOVE to have one closer to us. We always drive toward this side of town 280 downtown. First Watch in Vestavia is an excellent choice for breakfast or lunch. The service is always good, and the servers are well trained and ready to serve you. There are many food choices, and the meals I've eaten I have enjoyed. I also appreciate that the manger is on-site and will often be seen helping the servers when needed. We've been here twice for brunch. There are more health-conscious choices than most breakfast places, which I can appreciate. Staff and servers are friendly, and the food comes out quickly. Location is right next to the movie theatre, which makes it a pretty popular place! The food is pretty good. However, don't get the biscuits and turkey gravy if you actually are wanting biscuits and gravy. The "gravy" is really watered down, with little flavor, and the biscuits are meh. We came on a Sunday morning after getting on the waitlist through Yelp. It only took us about 15-20 minutes to be seated as there was plenty of seating and a quick turnaround on cleaning the tables. I ordered the Tri-Fecta with a chocolate chip pancake, eggs, and bacon. It was good and just the right portion size! The pancake was light and airy and the bacon was crispy. My husband and I came up here for "brunch" on a Saturday. Overall it was a good experience! I got the crab avocado toast with scrambled eggs, and he got the Monterey club sandwich with a cup of tomato soup. The soup was very small, but he said it tasted very good. My avocado crab toast was amazing. I swear there must've been a whole avocado if not two on that toast! And a decent amount of crab as well! The eggs were ok, hot and scrambled with cheese just as I ordered them. But nothing was like over the top about the eggs. They offered gluten free toast for an up charge for those that need it which I thought was nice. The one star deducted was for the wait time. We waited over 40 minutes for a table, originally told 20-30. We almost left because we were so hungry. Just finished a delicious lunch at First Watch. We were seated right away. We had requested outside seating because my daughter had her service dog in training with us. He behaved so well! Most people didn't even realize he was there. I ordered the plain pancakes and they were so yummy and filling! My daughter ordered the "pick 2" with a Roast beef & havarte toasted sandwich with chicken avocado chopped salad and "Morning Meditation" juice. It was so colorful and pretty! (And tasted good, too!). We shared a side of seasoned potatoes that were crispy goodness like they had been cooked in an iron skillet. My daughter gave good reviews for the tomato basil soup. Furthermore, the menu is very extensive and provides a variety of omelettes, which are my favorite brunch food. This restaurant is expanding very rapidly, and is doing very well with its marketing and is consistent in its quality. I got a frittata and it was delicious! Although I am not a fan of mushrooms particularly, this menu item had a good mix of the cheese, egg, and veggies. Presentation was nice and timely. Great dining experience! I tried the Tri-fecta and the million dollar bacon and both were absolutely delicious. I was able to swap out the pancake/waffle option for French toast instead. I jazzed up my eggs by adding Cheddar cheese. I selected the turkey sausage instead of traditional pork sausage to offset the calories I added by adding cheese to my eggs This spot offers both indoor and outdoor seating. I have eaten here several times before writing this review. Across the board this place is consistent both with service and quality of food. They always use very fresh ingredients and they have many healthy items on their menu. They also have a fair selection of gluten free dishes and even a couple of Paleo options. While they don't have alcohol, they have some yummy tonics and fresh squeezed juice drinks that are great after a night of having alcoholic drinks. They are great for groups of all sizes and the noise level is never too loud. My favorite time to go is for lunch on a weekday- there's never a wait. read more

Pancake was fluffy, eggs just right and beacon crispy yet chewy . This really took the edge off of that craving. First watch in Vestavia is always a good choice for brunch! I was able to go during the week, which is much less crowded than the weekend. If you are going to go on the weekend I advise you use their online "get in line" service to help lessen your wait time when you arrive. The workers at first watch are always kind and considerate, and I have had great service every time I have gone!! This visit I chose to get the ham and gruyere omelet and it was DEVINE. It comes with toast and house made jam. The food was hot, and came within a reasonable amount of time. Their coffee is also great. I did not see any Covid precautions, but they do have you pay at the front of the restaurant as you leave, which avoids multiple hands touching your credit card. Oh yeah... this place is good! If you're a Yelper already and you're planning to come here... I'd recommend using the built-in feature to go ahead and reserve your place in line before showing up. Especially at a time like brunch/lunch hour after church on a Sunday! We were seated within 3-4 minutes of arriving at a packed foyer. Once seated, it did take a little time to get spotted but who appeared to be the manager at the time was sincerely apologetic and made it right for us (shout out Brandon!). My wife and I ordered two shareable dishes (cinnamon roll waffles and millionaire's bacon)! Both of which were very tasty! Also ordered a side of cheese grits, that for me... weren't thick enough for restaurant grits but would be some good at-home, stovetop grits! I also tried a very delish specialty drink called "morning meditation" which consisted of orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet. OMG so delish and fresh! The first time I came here the food was good service was okay nothing more. Then the most recent time I came it was very disappointing. The service was very lacking. It was very slow while they were not busy. The food was good but the absolute worst was the cleanliness of the restaurant. My skin was crawling at how bad it looked. When we walked in there we're at least 4 tables with serving trays on the full of dirty dishes and glasses. We sat down and our table and the floor underneath was dirty. Then a few feet from our table there was spilled milk on the floor. It was very obvious and in the middle of the walk way from the kitchen to the restaurant. I watched server after server walk through and none of them cared to wipe it up. It was disgusting, by that point I was scared to even eat off my fork because if the front looks like this I can't even imagine the kitchen. By the time we left the milk was still on the floor and there were even more dirty tables. My recommendation is to go the array of other brunch spots in Birmingham or just get take out and hope and pray that the kitchen is clean. read more

We were seated immediately due to reservations. Downhill after that. We ordered and first my husband ordered his eggs sunny side up he got scrambled. Potatoes were not fully cooked. We had to ask for more water. We saw people coming out with plates in their hands to deliver them to customers and they went to wrong table. This happened multiple times and also to us. They tried to give us food that we did not order. Our eggs looked like they had been sitting for a long time before they were brought to us. Jacks has a much better breakfast. Will not return here.
