Made a quick decision to eat at First watch on a Sunday. I love that you can put your name on the waitlist online. I'm not sure how effective it is but we never seem to wait long. I do feel like the servers are a little pushy to get everything put in but I think it's due to how long it takes the kitchen to prepare the food. I got my food and waited a good 10 minutes for my boyfriends food to come out. I didn't want to be rude and eat before he got his. Nonetheless, the food is always good! I also think it's worth signing up for their rewards program! You never know what coupons you may get.

I knew I could trust First Watch with my dietary restriction, and they absolutely delivered. The waitress was very kind and helped me find things that were vegetarian. Due to her help, I then ordered half of the fresh veggie sandwich and half of the chicken avocado chop without bacon and chicken. The food came out quickly. Eating in a rustic style restaurant was the perfect touch. Although I was seated at the beginning of the restaurant, the foot traffic was light, and it felt secluded. The sandwich was very flavorful. I enjoyed the bright taste of the pesto with the meaty mushrooms. The salad was also very good. Presented with the greens on top with corn and black beans on the bottom. The dressing was a lemon vignette that was a great contrast from the greens themselves. Overall, experience and food are a perfect way to eat delicious food with a rustic atmosphere.

First Watch never disappoints. The breakfast tacos were absolutely delicious. My waffle was cooked to perfection. We had some of the best service. My son got sick at the table and they promptly moved us to another table. Everyone was smiling and their energy was contagious. The bathroom was extremely clean. Definitely coming back here soon to try some additional items this summer.

We had a great experience here. Our server, Will, was excellent. He answered all of our questions, and even cracked a few jokes!! This First Watch is huge!! They have lots of seating, and it's spaced out well. We sat in a booth, but they also have tables. I tried one of their fall specials - honey bacon Brussels hash. It was a hash made of potatoes, brussel sprouts, bacon, onions, arugula, 2 eggs (your choice), and goat cheese. It was oh so yummy!! I also appreciate they had nondairy milk to go with my coffee. I also got a side of gluten-free French toast, and chicken sausage. We will definitely go back when in Birmingham!

First watch provides lots of fresh, healthy options! The salmon eggs benedict was really good, but nothing spectacular. I would definitely come back, but may try something else! The ambiance was bright and welcoming, with a cozy yet modern vibe that made it a great spot for brunch. The service was also excellent and very attentive. Our food arrived quickly without any delays, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a solid experience for a good, no-fuss brunch in a pleasant setting.

First Watch is always a great place for breakfast. When our son is in town, it is always a go-to for us. On the weekends, it can be difficult to get into because the long wait. This time, we went on a Friday morning around 9:00 am, right after Christmas, and we were able to get a table immediately. If they are still on the menu, you have to try the gingerbread spiced doughnuts. You get a nice size order for around $6, and they come with a caramel dipping sauce as well as icing for dipping. They were absolutely delicious, and there was plenty to share between the three of us. My go-to breakfast is the Floridian French Toast. It is a thick-cut brioche bread with wheat germ and powdered cinnamon sugar, and they cover it with fresh bananas, kiwi, and strawberries. I prefer it over their other French toast option because it comes with fresh fruit.

After a 5-mile walk, what a great way to start the day with delicious pancakes and parmesan cheese cream sauce on roasted potatoes. I could not finish all the food, so I had to get a bag, and they had a new drink. It's a dragon fruit with lemon that is so refreshing. The service at Vestavia is top-tier. You must stop by and see the staff. They were so friendly and pleasant, and the dining area had enough natural light.

My husband and I were visiting the area for a wedding. We asked our hotel valet for a good breakfast restaurant and they recommended First Watch. We decided to give it a try since it was close. Let me tell you, he was RIGHT! My husband ordered The Works breakfast burrito and a side of cheese grits. I ordered the Triathlete Omelet and a Bloody Mary. Everything was DELICIOUS! Even the bottomless coffee and water! And I cannot complete this review without talking about our awesome server, Lyndsay! She was pleasant, engaging and gave great advice regarding our choices! It's a cozy family friendly restaurant that has a nice, diverse team and customers! If you're in the area, don't miss this amazing restaurant!

We decided to come on a Friday night I did make reservations beforehand and I highly suggest making them especially on the weekend and you can make them online through their website. On this evening, they had Tyler Giddens playing his keyboard and singing along. He was very good and I was able to chat with his wife and she told me that he plays around town so I definitely look forward to hearing his music again. Fowler was our server and he was very attentive. We started off with the brussels sprouts and the pork belly nachos. They were both equally delicious. Last time I was here I got the chicken tacos and I was so impressed. I got them again. My son got the Mac burger, which he completely devoured. My brother got the short ribs which he enjoyed. He also got a to go Mac burger as well. This time instead of Mississippi mud pie I got the monkey bread which was very delicious and it had apples in it as well. Fast-casual. Order at the front. The line at the front gets very scrunched up on weekend mornings. There was only one ordering kiosk open this past Sunday morning, and their didn't seem to be much fire in getting anybody seated quickly. Coffee is good, scrambled eggs satisfactory and came out hot. I must have my eggs HOT. The biscuits themselves are very good. The right amount of buttery flake and heft, but not too chewy. I ordered the egg plate and put my sausage patties and jam onto the biscuit for a little self-made sammy. The bruleed grapefruit was exactly as described: half a grapefruit with a hard sugar layer on top. It was good, and I love the opportunity to use some hyper-specific specialized silverware. I haven't had their chicken tenders before, but now realize I prefer it over the standard fried chicken solely because the flavor profile is better (more seasoned). I would order this again. Salad for my steak tips was as expected. I also redeemed a birthday reward for the chocolate cake. The bite I took was pretty good and it is easily a sharable portion size. Now for the not so good... My order through metro diners website consisted of steak tips, mash&gravy, garden salad with ranch. I personally would not order this again. Issue: The steak was chewy, flavor was bland and portion size seemed small for the value. My DoorDash order consisted of 1. Bissell breakfast with pancakes, scrambled eggs, cheese grits, bacon and a biscuit. 2. Small sausage gravy side 3. Chicken tenders plate with creole mustard, green beans and French fries. Issue: I quickly glanced through the see through lid of the boxes and noticed toast instead of a biscuit and no container that would have had the cheese grits. Went inside to notify the team and expo of missing items (also brought the bag back in). The expo called for these missing items from the kitchen. The cook glanced and then asked if he had a ticket for that? I managed restaurants for years so I get it when the kitchen asks this, however, the ticket was the one you made incorrectly and the expo did not check for correctness. The expo also stated "it is for a DoorDash order that she said is wrong". I'm happy this was a personal order because I got to see firsthand how it appears DD order issues are dismissed since they seemed to assume I was a driver. At least that is how the short exchange presented. They weren't rude it was the tone and lack of apology for my missing items. Mistakes happen. How you respond to and handle them matters. Fast forward - I get home and realize they must have simply switched my order with someone else's. There were hash browns with cheese and diced tomatoes and scrambled eggs with cheese. Was not my order and could not eat this order. The pancakes were just okay. Tried the sausage gravy with the biscuit. Not something I would get again but this part isn't a reflection of Metro Diner. Ordered this just to try it since many rave about this southern combo. Let's just say there will be more for everyone else to enjoy.

There was a bit of a wait before my order was taken, but honestly, it worked out in my favor because it gave me plenty of time to look over the menu. There were so many tempting options that it was honestly hard to decide! I ultimately chose three items and enjoyed a few bites of each. Ham & Fontina Scone: This was my first time trying a scone, and I was pleasantly surprised. The texture reminded me of a dry biscuit, but the ham added a delicious savory flavor that I really enjoyed. Frittata Plate: The frittata was SO good! It wasn't too dry, and all of the flavors worked really well together. It was served with polenta, which reminded me of really fine grits, along with fruit. After trying it, I realized that one entrée would definitely be enough for me to enjoy on its own. Breakfast 'ZA: This was essentially a breakfast pizza topped with a fried egg, and the egg was such a nice touch. The 'ZA itself was really good, although I think adding something similar to a gravy or sauce would make it a little less dry. Even without it, though, the fried egg really took it to another level. Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso: I decided to try the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, which was the barista's pick. This was my first time having a shaken espresso, and I'm so glad I gave it a try! It was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. The inside of Trattoria ZaZa is nice, although it is somewhat small, so I opted to sit outside. It was a very warm day, but the awning provided plenty of shade and made the outdoor seating comfortable. I also appreciated that, even though the restaurant doesn't have traditional table service, someone periodically checked on me to make sure I didn't need anything else.
