My husband and I tried this place after church one Sunday morning and had a great experience! Honestly no complaints. We had great service and didn't wait long for our food at all either! I order the Kale Tonic juice and loved it, and my husband who doesn't like veggie drinks tried it and loved it too lol. Then I ordered the farmhouse skillet hash and it was SOOOO amazing and tasteful honestly!! I was surprised I got pretty full with it! Then my husband ordered the carnitas breakfast burrito special and he loved his! Then we ordered a side of the biscuits and gravy and I'm extremely picky about my gravy & biscuits but this was for sure one of my favorites! We loved our time there though because it doesn't seem there's many great brunch places around but this was definitely amazing! I could see us going again! Plus lots of healthy options!! Food was good. Unfortunately when we were in this week a male server with blonde hair was not wearing his mask at all times. When he entered the kitchen area and prepped plates his mask was off and he rubbed his face countless times (you can see into kitchen - large glass window) Even if Covid wasn't an issue right now I'd be unhappy with this. Every other staff member had their mask on the whole time we dined in. This server ruined our chances of returning. I was also not crazy about their seating. They are seating at full capacity and have tables "protected" by plexiglass which is a joke. read more

Rating one star for two reasons: 1. I ordered Eggs Benedict, which is supposed to have a poached egg, but the egg I received had a fully cooked yolk. I've been to other First Watch restaurants in the past and haven't experienced this before, but the main idea around an Eggs Benedict is the method the egg is cooked, so this was disappointing. 2. COVID-19 safety measures were lacking severely. Indoor seating was packed and the tables were very close together. They really need to rethink their layout and limit the capacity instead of trying to pack as many people as they can inside. I probably won't be back to this location! read more

I was excited to try this new restaurant. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed at best. The cheese grits had no flavor. I asked if the potatoes had onions (due to an allergy) and was assured they did not. The potatoes came out with onions. I expected more for the price that was paid. Sorry, First Watch. Over packed beyond belief. Checked in on the app ahead of time and had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes. Knew our order ahead of time so we glanced at the menu for for about 3-5 minutes before ordering. Waited upwards of 50 minutes for a burnt waffle, decently brown avocado and then felt as if we were being rushed out. Finally when we got to the counter the host left right as the person in-front of us payed. We waited an additional ten minutes. Will steer clear of here for sure. read more

Was excited to check out this place after hearing good things. Arrived shortly after 1PM and ordered the Chickichanga. I am a patient person bit the wait time was a little long if you are on a lunch break from work. What got me was the food. The "chickichanga" is more of a crepe than a chimichanga for starters.. the filling was ok but nothing spectacular. It did not help that *all* of the onions and peppers were shoved on one side of the thing and the chicken was at the opposite end so eating it meant you either wound up with a mouthful of peppers & onions and a slice of avocado hidden inside or heavily seasoned chicken. No layering at all. The potatoes were bland and either overcooked & dry or the other pieces were slightly underdone with a no real good points. The "fruit" salad was a generous bounty of 1 grape, 2 pieces of pineapple, and what appears to be the small remains of a pear. Sauce-wise, it was the more redeeming part of the meal but this felt like everything was rushed without quality inspection. If they are that short staffed, they may do better by actually following the Covid suggestions and drawing back on how many customers they can serve. Because that place was packed. read more

My husband and I went to First Watch today for the first time. It will also be our last time. The coffee was weak. The utensils had dried food on them. (See photograph). The food arrived lukewarm. I had ordered the egg white omelet and it contained canned, tasteless mushrooms, and was cold. The toast had buttered slathered on it, but the toast was so cold when they added the butter, it just rested on top of toast. My husband said the French toast was all right. However, it also was not hot. When I asked for fresh utensils, the waitress/hostess didn't bother to take the dirty utensils. On top of that, the cost was 50% higher than Jimbo's, a great place for breakfast and lunch on the corner of College and Oleander. The Toastery is also superior to this place on Wrightsville. read more

i went with three others for breakfast on a tuesday around 9:45 (they weren't busy) for starters, the silverware and dishes were dirty, like dried eggs on them, our server forgot several things we asked for. the food was not bad, even though mine came out freezing cold. i tried to reach out to a manager via phone, but first time he was too busy, second time i asked, the girl put me on hold for over 6 minutes before i hung up. i wouldn't recommend first watch read more

First time here and it was amazing, Kelsey recommended the lemon ricotta pancakes and they did not disappoint!

I've only ever tried breakfast here once and that was via Uber eats, but I will most definitely be ordering again! The menu has great, unique dishes and staples. The biscuits with turkey sausage gravy was amazing. The Floridian French toast looks amazing so I am going to have to try it in the future. Lots of healthy options to choose from too. read more

We're in town for the Flotilla and on our way back home. Loved this place! Addy was our waitress and took good s care of us. I had the avocado toast, so good! My husband had the steel cut oatmeal with all kinds of stuff (fruit, nuts, brown sugar and more) in it, which he loved! Loved the atmosphere and it seemed like a well run machine. Was very disappointed with there disregard to COVID protocols! The inside was 100% capacity. Every table full and directly next to eachother. Outside same thing, tables within 1 foot of other people eating. They DID NO SANITIZING OR CLEANING between customers!!!! We were seated at an outside table, and there was still dirty water cups on our table. I asked if it had been cleaned, and they said yes. Then I proceeded to watch other tables leave, and only the dishes being cleaned. There was no cleaner what so ever used on them before they sat the next guests. Some employees were wearing there masks with there nose exposed or with single cut up t-shirts as bandana masks. I saw men in the kitchen also not wearing there masks over there nose. I work 12 hours a day with a N95 mask on. I was was very disappointed with there lack of care for others and will not be returning until they close and do a deep clean and implement correct policy per Governer Cooper 50% capacity rule and cleaning requirements. read more

Staff apparently don't know how to wear a mask properly, nearly all of them either only covered their mouths and even then barely. The server came to the table and took his mask off to talk to us, which I thought was the point. Food was mediocre at best, if you are worried about Covid, maybe skip this place until they figure out how to properly wear a mask and put in some sanitizing procedures. Unsanitary conditions at this location. Waited 50 minutes to be seated after having to check on our queue status (told 20 minutes at first). The call-ahead system doesn't seem to work well, and while watching others, ticks people off waiting in line. The greeters where distracted from their jobs and perhaps mismanaging the wait list. Once seated, it took 7 minutes before our waitress acknowledged us. The couple beside us were not happy as they said they had been waiting for coffee for some time. The place had several empty tables (probably for the call-ahead people) and was not extremely busy. Ok... I can accept (and certainly understand) a bit of inconvenience in a post covid world. Sanitation is where I draw the line. Maybe I've been watching to many Gordon Ramsey shows but while waiting, my spouse and I observed several sanitation red flags including something in my spouse's coffee mug that looked like a mouse dropping. Was super excited to try this new restaurant but was honestly super disappointed. The second we walked in the host was rude and took us to a table, we then asked if we could sit outside as he didn't give us that option before he seated us and gave us an attitude about sitting outside. We both ordered the pancakes and they were so dry I would rather eat a Popeyes biscuit with no water, how can pancakes even be that dry ? We drenched them in syrup and they were still dry as hell. My pancakes were supposed to have fruit on top but apparently the whole restaurant was out of fruit. We also ordered a side of potatoes and they tasted like they were fried in onion juice, we ordered potatoes not onions. To wrap up our great experience here they double charged us for one of the pancakes and we thankfully caught it but had to get it fixed up front. The only good thing about our visit was that our waitress was super sweet. Never going to eat here again it's way overhyped and honestly over priced. read more
