I got the honey crunch iced coffee($6) and a biscuits and gravy ($13). Coffee was quite sweet and had a lot a of milk to coffee ratio. After adding more black coffee it helped balance the flavor. The potatoes had a good crispy skin but was a little too salty for my taste (still very good). The sausage gravy and biscuit tasted alright, nothing spectacular. Eggs were cooked to my requested order of over easy. Service and staff were reasonable given the brunch crowd. Overall it's an affordable and alright brunch spot. Always wonderful with a great menu of healthy food. We went there for breakfast today. My husband and I wanted to start off the day with a good meal ahead of a day of braving the stores for Thanksgiving food shopping. First Watch did not disappoint. Their food is consistently good. I had their special breakfast with eggs, huge pancake, home fried potatoes and 2 chicken apple sausage patties. Delicious! Even the genuine maple syrup was warmed. My husband had a bowl with eggs, home fries, thick cut maple bacon and kale- he loved his as well. We will definitely be back. The honey chipotle chicken has i got had every flavor and was amazing. A touch of spice with the quality of a nice heart breakfast. I often order the same thing (the BLT eggs Benedict) but I have tried several other items and my family has ate almost everything on the menu at one time or another (the lemon ricotta pancakes are great!). I added us to the waiting list online which worked perfectly! So this is something I do recommend to anyone wishing to come at high peak times Saturdays and Sundays. The food was just okay for me I wasn't impressed as I thought I'd be. Everyone is different with regard to palettes. We got the chorizo omelette which we was hoping for some chorizo in it. However, it sprinkling of chorizo( nonexistent, lol). The inside is industrial and farm-to-table style. The pricing was on par because it's fresh. It's worth a try if you haven't been. read more

After a long trip, we decided that we had to stop here for brunch. I loved the amount of windows, giving it a bright natural light. The decor was really fitting to its farm-to-table style. The food was good and it was a slightly more elevated breakfast. With that in mind, this wouldn't be my first choice for a kids breakfast. We don't drink often, and especially not for breakfast or brunch. First Watch does definitely have a larger selection of alcoholic beverages though, which I'm sure has something for anyone looking for a boozy brunch. Lol! The restaurant is a little pricier for a little more sophisticated food, but offers a few menu items you won't really find anywhere else, so definitely worth dropping by. This fast casual chain is a solid choice for breakfast and lunch. They have a lot of options to choose from and the quality of the food is always solid. A little salty sometimes but overall good. The decor here is light and airy and reflects the local beach life personality. The service is good. Although sometimes I feel rushed here. I get it. I understand the need to turn over tables. But when it's not busy, don't rush me to pay the check. I like to sit and talk and enjoy my meal. The coffee is not good here. No espresso drinks. Oh my goodness they've done it again! When you already have one of the freshest menus in town and you make your avocado toast insanely next level by adding lump crab meat and pickled onions!!!! WOW. We came from out of town to visit and what a great spot we discovered ! For a quick stop for brunch on Sunday for both occasions I will say do expect to wait for a seat because it does get very busy! The first time around I had their carnitas burrito and that thing was huge and filling ! But so tasty and definitely recommend if you're famished. The second time I had I believe their Tri- fecta and hubby had the Traditional Breakfast. Can't go wrong with either all options were delicious & didn't disappoint! I came here in a group of 5 around at 11:10am, on my birthday which was on a Monday a few months ago. There was no wait. The restaurant has an open concept. Guests automatically receive a canister of coffee and 2 glasses, but beware as it's not complementary. We ordered around 11:30am and the food came about 10 minutes later. My kid got a chocolate chip pancake with bacon. I got pancake, bacon, eggs, and seasoned potatoes. They had smuckers sugar free syrup, which wasn't even opened yet, which says not many people request it. Nonetheless, it was great they offered it! We all enjoyed our food! It was very breezy that day, but we were starving and chose to sit on the patio so we could go ahead and eat instead of waiting longer. Got here a few minutes after 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday in their first week of opening. It was very busy but only a ~15 minute wait for indoor seating. There was no wait for outdoor seating. It was a little chilly/windy outside and there were no heat warmers. It looked like there was plenty of indoor seating. There are nine small tables outdoors with 4 tables with four seats and 5 tables with two seats. My partner got the traditional breakfast ($10.99), which comes with two eggs and a choice of meat and served with toast and potatoes. It's automatically served with thick whole grain toast but you can change it to either a sourdough, English muffin or Gluten-free toast at no extra charge. Chose to add cheese to the eggs (additional $1.69). Interestingly, they do not have cheddar cheese, only Colby jack as the most similar. My partner enjoyed the traditional breakfast. I ordered the french toast, 2 slices of custard dipped, thick brioche bread. It was served with with butter and strawberry jam. It was good, perfectly cooked. I still had some room left, so it might be a good idea to share a side if you get this dish. Syrup options are either a regular, sugar free, or maple syrup for an additional $1.29. It was nice that the coffee mugs were slightly warm. Not sure if that's a typical thing or if they were just washed. Also liked that we were given coffee in a carafe so we could serve ourselves coffee without waiting and still keep the rest of the coffee warm in the carafe. Coffee price was $2.89 each person. After the meal we paid at the cashier in the front. Food was served quickly. Our waitress Autumn was great. This is a good spot for breakfast. read more

This was my first time to First Watch in Mayfaire. I went on a Friday morning and there was no wait. I got the Skillet Hash Market Style. The ingredients are very fresh and yummy. I got my eggs over easy and they were cooked perfectly. I feel this location is steps above the Independence location. Our server was quick in taking our order and bring our food. Went this weekend with my daughter. I'll advise you to join the waitlist online. We did not and were given at 20-25 minute wait time. After 25 minutes I checked in and we were still 9th on the list. The hostess then proceeded to tell me that the online waitlist gets priority and gets bumped in front of people at the restaurant and that I may as well just wait since I wont find a shorter wait time anywhere else. It was quite rude. Once we got to our table, server Juan was excellent and the food was good. I just think maybe the hostess needs a little refresher in speaking with customers and if truly the online waitlist is priority here I think that is crazy. They should just fall in to line with the people at the restaurant not jump in front of them. I am a huge fan of First Watch and whenever I am in a town, if I cannot decide where to eat, I often times choose one their locations if they have one in that specific area. I however, am not adventurous and get the same exact thing every time I go: The Farmhouse skillet and an iced coffee. At the Wilmington location, they have always been fast for us, but we do tend to go pretty early since we are up early due to a little one. This leads us to miss a lot of the busy times and crowds. Now for the specifics of the food: The skillets are always super tasty and the veggies are perfectly sautéed. The tomatoes and onions go perfectly with the avocado and potatoes. Add some hot sauce and it is beyond. Also, the reason I always get their iced coffee is because it is not too sweet and just the perfect pairing for my meal. As stated before, I have never had wait issues or customer service issues at this location and always love my experience. read more

08-28-21 Back in June 2017 in Omaha we went to a restaurant called Railcar Modern American Kitchen and on their Brunch Menu they had Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which my wife fell in love with. We couldn't find any other restaurant in Omaha that could match these pancakes until First Watch opened. In 2019 we moved to Wilmington and the search started over again. In October 2020 First Watch came to Wilmington but unfortunately their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes didn't match up. Then on Saturday August 28, 2021, bingo, we hit the jackpot at the First Watch in the Independence Mall. Now for the bad news, I'm 77 years old, fully vaccinated and have been diagnosed with Heart Failure. A couple of months age, I probably wouldn't have mentioned this, but with the Delta variant running wild and attacking vaccinated people, thing have changed. I noted that several of the Waitstaff wore their masks like scarfs around their necks exposing both nose and mouth, this is contrary to both CDC and State guidelines. It is the first business that I have been in recently, that shows such blatant disrespect for its customers. Now for the good food news, as you can guess my wife had their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which they describe as" We add fresh, whipped ricotta cheese to our multigrain batter. Served as a "mid-stack" of two pancaked topped with marinated berries, creamy lemon curd and powered cinnamon sugar". My wife just described it as "OH YAH!!". She also had her standard side of crispy bacon which they prepared to her liking. I ordered The Works omelet which contains ham, bacon, sausage, house-roasted Cremini Mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. Topped with all-natural sour cream with a side of "floppy" bacon. It was delicious. Although their Bloody Mary's are average, the way they serve them is unique and I think need to be mentioned. They are served in a Swing Flip Top Glass Bottle, this allows you to add additional hot sauce and shake it, to customize the Bloody Mary to your taste, without spilling any. This is a lot harder to do if the Bloody Mary is served in a glass and all dressed out. I would have given this restaurant a 5 Star review, but I just couldn't give that rating to a restaurant that puts it customer's health in danger, thus the 3 Star rating. Hopefully they will give their staff instructions on the correct way to ware a face mast as per the CDC. However, this is one of the better breakfast restaurants in Wilmington an we will be returning. read more

Our waitress, Waverly, was great! Super friendly and attentive. We came in on a windy and chilly Saturday around 11. We had call ahead to put our names on the wait list. When we got there it was super busy and felt too crowded inside for us during covid. Thankfully, their patio is in the sun and we opted to sit out there right away. We were the only ones which seemed odd but it was really nice. The sun helped too. The food was good and plenty of it. This place is spot on! We were quoted ten minutes on a Saturday morning around 10:30. Service was great. Natalie was really nice. Food was perfect. I got the farmhouse hash and it was delicious. My husband and I often go to First Watch on the weekends for breakfast. It's a great atmosphere with a good amount of seating. Even on a Sunday morning we usually aren't having to wait. The restaurant is usually very busy but the staff is always friendly and our food comes out fast/hot/delicious. My husband got pancakes this past weekend and they were literally larger than the plate they came on. He couldn't even finish them and had a "second breakfast" a few hours later. He also loves the fresh squeezed OJ. A little pricey but it seems all breakfast places are now. This is a spot we'll be going to often. read more

Mediocre food with a headache to go. Stopped in after running the loop for a quick bite to eat on Saturday. Knew it would be busy but we got in right away and our waitress was great. I ordered the breakfast tacos and they were fine. Nothing to write home about just ok. The biggest issue I have with this place is it is unbelievably loud and chaotic inside. On a busy day like we had you can't have a conversation at your table because the noise level inside is crazy. The other problem I had was the bathroom was disgusting! Sadly this isn't all together the fault of the restaurant but the people who eat there but it wouldn't hurt to have someone on bathroom duty ( ha I said duty). It's a crappy job (pun intended) but anyone who has worked at a restaurant has been there.
