Ray and Craig were AMAZING! I had booked another moving company for a move over the weekend and long story short I couldn't get in touch with them for two days before the move. I called around in a panic and was able to get a reasonable quote from Fischer within my budget. They were easy to reach and very communicative. They showed up on time, they were both very professional and had great attitudes. I could only afford two hours and Craig and Ray worked so hard to make sure they were done in two hours, but were still very careful with my belongings. Some of my moves were organized and well thought out and some of them were not and I was disorganized. These guys are non judgmental and even offer defense when involved in crazy-weird roommate drama situations. Good moving company and a decent price with the yelp deal. We scheduled two guys to help us unload a 16' POD. Easy to schedule. The movers kept us updated on their arrival time. Unfortunately their morning move took longer than expected and they were a bit more than an hour late arriving at our house. It was OK for us, but could be a problem if you are on a very tight timeline. However, because they were late, and we had gotten a head start on unloading the POD, they let us out of the two-hour minimum, saving us $125. Good service, professional movers. Only other downside is that they were unwilling to help assemble any furniture that they didn't disassemble themselves. We got great service for the price, and I recommend them, just know that they might run a bit late, and won't assemble furniture that they didn't take apart. read more

We gave Fischer Van Lines a call after reading all the reviews on Yelp. I spoke with Craig about moving out of our 930 sq ft, 1-bedroom apt in Downtown into a home in Westminster and needing to also stop in Thornton to pick up a washer and dryer and more boxes. He was very informative, straight-forward and honest. We paid for three guys and Craig, Paul and Ray showed up. One guy was having car trouble in the morning so Craig called us at 8:30am to let us know they were running late. They were all very professional, introduced themselves when they arrived and moved our apartment in less than 20 mins. Because our couch was unusually big and took up the space we wanted to use for the washer and dryer , we couldn't make the stop at my mom's house so they had to go straight to the new house. They unpacked quickly, went to my mom's house to pick up additional items and came back to the new home in no time at all. These guys work very fast, don't try to run the clock and informed of us of when we were close to our 2-hour minimum. We highly recommend them to anyone! read more

I ended up moving the day after a huge snowstorm rolled through the area, and was nervous - would the movers even show up? Would the snow mess up the process? I'm happy to report that with Fischer Van Lines, my concerns were unwarranted. The team showed up right on time, and helped me finish shoveling out the driveway (at no charge). We did a quick loop of the house to go over what needed to move, and they immediately got to work. The team hustled to get everything onto the truck quickly, and did the same on the other end - in fact, when they realized we were approaching the end of the minimum time estimated they immediately picked up the pace to avoid pushing us into another half-hour charge. We ended up finishing the move faster than was originally estimated, saving me a few hundred dollars. The team was hardworking and professional throughout, and maintained a great attitude despite moving a ton of furniture in miserable weather. While it might be cheaper to rent a U-Haul and bribe some friends to help, it is so very worth hiring professionals, and these guys are the best I've worked with. I used Fischer today. I HATE HATE HATE moving that's why I usually hire movers. I woke up early this morning and moved what I could by my door so that the movers could easily get everything on the truck. They were SUPER appreciative and professional (VERY professional). I had a good amount of stuff (bed, 2 tables, 4 chairs, 2 heavy dressers, a heavy TV stand, and about 12 boxes) and they loaded it on their truck and unloaded it at my new place is 2.5 hours. We hired Fischer to move us and our house into storage units in preparation for selling our 4 bedroom house. Even though I underestimated the size of the van, Fischer went out of their way to accomodate the extra stuff and still met the amount of time that they estimated that it would take. Craig gave me an estimate, along with a timeline of when they would be there. The quote was extremely accurate and I was impressed with how timely they were. Craig, Anthony, and Julian were great and really hustled to accomplish the move. I will definitely use them when our house is finally built and ready for us to move in ! I'm giving Fischer Van Lines a one star review because of ALL the things the broke, dinged and or scratched. When Chris ( one of the movers ) broke a leg on a hand carved mahogany desk. He first tried to deny it, but I had photos. - that was just the start of things getting broken. When I complained to Craig the lead mover when the table leg was broken. He said - Dont worry about stuff that gets broken, we have good furniture repair people. I replied, I prefer that you be careful and not break things rather than have to repair them. These movers were very angry if anyone watched them or was even on the same floor where they were working. Why would that be such a problem? I happened to be going downstairs and Chris said to one of the movers who had dropped and spilled the contents of the box - Good thing one if her spies (my friends) didn't see you. I replied - No my friends didn't see you, but I did. It gets worse with these guys, but I'll spare you the details. Except to say that when I did submit photos to file a claim for repairs, Alexandra at Fischer claimed the photos were unclear. Avoid this company. read more

This was my third move in recent years and the previous two each had their fair share of issues and disappointments.... but thanks to Fischer Van Lines, this move went perfectly!! They arrived on time and immediately got to work-- operating with professionalism the whole way through. They absolutely knew what they were doing and moved everything out of my rather old apartment (elevator from the 1930's that can be a bit tricky to operate) very carefully and quickly. I quickly realized that I could trust them and I was able to relax a bit... a rarity in my moving experience. We used Fischer to move from the Ken Caryl area to east Highlands Ranch. We chose Fischer (even thought the price was a little higher than some other quotes) because of the great reviews here on Yelp. We were blown away by the amazing job they did! The 3 guys that moved us were professional, careful and extremely hard-working. They helped us take apart a few pieces of furniture so they'd fit better in the truck and helped us reassemble the pieces at the new house. We have a couple of things that have sentimental value and when we told them to be extra careful with those items, they added additional wrapping and really took their time to ensure the items were safe in the truck. Not one thing was broken or damaged in the move and we definitely give Fischer the majority of the credit for that. After they were completely done and we paid, the guy in charge called the office to tell him they had completed the job and they actually made a point to speak with my husband on the phone to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction and to thank us for our business! It's so rare to see that kind of gratitude from businesses anymore. This company is simply amazing and worth every penny. If we ever move again, we will absolutely be using them. read more

They are fast, efficient, don't knock any walls, careful with my stuff, friendly, professional, and very communicative throughout the process. They have taken apart tables and reassembled them sturdier than they found them. They provide wardrobe boxes, and will move whole dressers with all the drawers full (wrap the whole dresser in shrink wrap!). They are honest and hardworking and have never disappointed! We are loyal Fischer Van Lines customers. I believe we have used them for 6 or 7 moves since 2008. The most recent was to move us out of our house we sold and put all of our belongings into the basement of a new house we were renovating. The plan was to have them back to then move those belonging to every room int he house when the renovation was complete. Both jobs were excellent. Not only were they extremely organized and quick, but when they came back to help move everything up and out of the basement, they did it all in 45 minutes! (That would have taken us 8 hours!) Then they asked if there was more that they could help us lift with the extra time, which meant they could help my husband with a few huge heavy boxes containing new bedframes, etc. They really were friendly and went above & beyond. I have referred many friends and family to them who have all had a very similarly great experience as us. read more

NO! Not happy, insulted by the owners attempt to make things right. I'm actually more irritated now than I was from my experiences before! I was told in the correspondence from the owner that even if I didn't sign the paperwork at the end of the move (someone else-not listed on the contract had signed it) it still releases them of liability or any wrong doing, not that any fault was admitted to, in my opinion- its pretty shady-so anyone can sign off saying things were ok????? I was offered something but was told there would be stipulations with accepting it, primarily which was to take my yelp review down and sign an agreement to that effect. It's pretty insulting. A better approach might have been, hey, I wanna do right by you, so here is what I propose and I would hope this would make things better and perhaps reconsider our review. I have to say, I understand that mistakes happen, but what separates good companies from bad companies is the approach in how they handle those mistakes. I would most defiantly will not use this company again. read more

Horrible. I was unable to supervise that the exceptionally well packed storage unit we needed emptied for a move, because I was dealing with other contractors at the house. I specifically told them NOT to load anything from the garage as we were still doing projects, and had to go out and make them take the rototiller, lawn mower, extension ladder and snow blower off the truck. This was hands down the worst job I have ever experienced with a move. The truck was barely even home from storage and I had picture frames sliding around the back with broken glass. The ONE piece of furniture I cared about (knicks and dings happen) was a rounded glass cabinet from my grandma. The movers literally took it out of my mom's hands, as she was trying tape it, and they said they would shrink wrap it and pack it well. As I looked into the truck to add more, I about passed out. A VERY heavy metal gliding patio couch was wedged in front and was about the only thing tied down. Nothing was wrapped, tied down or secure. EVERY single empty cabinet, dresser, shelf was loaded open side in. As I was moving the book boxes clearly marked heavy from the top of my hand painted fragile dishware boxes, a twin mattress fell over, and with some minor personal injury and a stoke of luck I stopped my grandma's cabinet from falling over and shattering. I ended up pulling everything off the 'full 26 foot rental truck and repacking it. When I was done reorganizing with stuff they had loaded, plus an additional 20-30 boxes, it was less than 1/3 full. The owner is a neighbor and offered a discount to me for using his company. He has since walked by my house 4 days in a row and seen me repacking, hasn't stopped by. I will be contacting him directly, but let's just say I was so mad I afraid I blow a gasket talking to him. The 'discount' was totally absorbed by the charges for the 'extra time and care' they took/ Check out BBB, good rating because they 'attempted to settle' with the client,, but past experience has taught me this doesn't mean resolution, there are dozens of complaints. read more

Perhaps my three stars should be of the moving industry in general, rather than Fischer. First let me say that Lee and Harry were very professional, prompt, courteous and attentive to details. Herein lies my problem. I believe movers should mandate a walk-through prior to giving a quote. It's clear that we had more than we indicated on the website as Jeff called and let me know there was a 4 hour minimum for this truck and that it would probably be around that long. Unfortunately when they got there and did the walkthrough, i was told it looked more like 5-6 hours. At $80/hour, i wasn't too thrilled so i put on some shoes and started moving! The three of us (probably more like 2 and 1/3) ended up taking 6 hours to move a 2 bedroom townhouse (albeit completely furnished). Here were my issues with Fischer, and more likely with moving companies in general: 1) i was told 5-6 hours when they got there, and then i helped them load the truck, really working and it STILL took 6 hours. 2) paying $50 for gas and $40 for drive time seems excessive when it took them half hour to drive from old house to new house. I understand this is to and from their shop, and i was informed of these charges upfront. These drive times are only assessed in and out of Denver city limits as my property was. But don't forget, when they're (as i'm sure all moving companies do) still charging you by the hour, in this case $40 for the half hour to get from my old place to the new one. 3) After they moved the couches and bed, both objects that required two people, one man stayed in the truck to organize, wrap, protect, etc while the other mover and I ran up and down the stairs. Had i known that's how they worked, i would have probably preferred to pay for three movers. 4) after the first hour and a half, every hour they took a 6 minute break. That's fine, they're only human, but it's my belief that the job should be a set price in advance, rather than hourly. That way, if they wanted to take a half hour break, stop for lunch, take a nap, play wii, that's fine as I'm not paying. Again I'll restate that these problems may have happened with all movers. I spent roughly $570 (plus $50 tip) for movers for 6 hours and spent the first four hours of the day moving. read more
