this place is absolutely horrific, i would not recommend going here. it seems like a nice place, with lots of livestock and supplies but it's not. i recently got an ocellaris clownfish from here and i had noticed paleness around the mouth area, thinking nothing of it, i took it home. not even two weeks later this fish is dead, its body pale. the salinity and temperature in my tank at normal range. i tested my water thinking it was maybe an ammonia spike, no ammonia. then i tested nitrate and nitrite, none of that either. my mocha storm clownfish that i intended to pair with the clownfish that died started acting strange. paleness on its sides, stringy mucus coming off of it, hanging near the sand bed only, heavy and fast breathing. my mocha storm clownfish has brooklynella! it was perfectly healthy before i got this recent clownfish and now my mocha storm is fighting for its life while i treat it. not to mention, once you actually get a closer look of the fish at this place you will notice dead orandas/goldfish just floating in the water. i saw multiple goldfish with popeye, swim bladder diseases, and dropsy! i also saw a betta with a really bad case of fungal infection near its mouth, it was awful. do NOT buy from this place at all if you care about your fish. i highly recommend the north dallas aquarium in carrollton. by the way, i downloaded this app and made an entire account just to get my point across that this place is so incredibly horrible. i truly care about my fish and i have been in the fish hobby a few years now and will not be coming here ever again. horrible place, absolutely disgusting, these poor creatures do not deserve this level of cruelty and unkempt illnesses. read more

This is truly my favorite aquarium shop in DFW. We've been in several times and have even purchased a tank setup from the kind folks over in Addison. What I love the most about this store: cleanliness, selection, size, and knowledgeable staff. Even if you're not into aquariums this is a cool store to walk around! If you are into aquariums, walk around and marvel at the crystal clear, pristine setup, and the selection WITH some pretty great prices to boot. Will I go back? Absolutely Should you stop in? DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS. The live rock had parasites crawling out of it in the transportation home. The company policy (which is not available on their website) says that they take a 25% restocking fee for refunds. That's absolutely ridiculous. I spent almost $1400 and they're taking over $300 to put it back on a shelf.... The manager I emailed is super rude and unhelpful, he had a condescending tone and was unwilling to budge on company policy. Came in on me and my wife's anniversary looking at some tanks and to at least take home some Driftwood from my 44 gallon tank. When I come in it's usually hard to get help. The fish are usually higher than normal rates. I bought a $24 baby tiger oscar that's 2x the normal rate and within 2 days he's shown internal parasite signs, sunken belly, and never ate for me while owning him. Saw the sunken belly sign when purchasing but after driving to every shop in town I gave in and bought the fish. Won't be buying livestock anymore from here and that was the straw for me. Curious if they even quarantine incoming livestock, or if the parasites in there setup. read more

After proving this was more than a passing fade, we went to Fish Gallery when it was on Greenville Ave. to upgrade. They were helpful and informative. Bought a betta fish here and quickly found parasites on him after bringing him home. I'm not even sure what they are but they resemble anchor worms. If you buy a fish here, have a very close look at it before walking out. Also, they had absolutely 0 adult platys available, I even asked. Like what! How lol! I have been trolling there for a while. Wondering if I should start up another aquarium or not. After two months of looking and thinking about it, I took my old 29 gallon and threw it together and got back in the hobby. Shortly after that I bought a 75 gallon and proceeded to set it up. I bought a big old log out of one of their display aquariums and put it in the 75 gallon. It's too big and now I may have to get a 125 so it fits better. lol Fish Gallery has very competitive pricing and everything I have purchased there have been very reasonable. Which is unusual in any hobby. The people are knowledgeable and friendly. I bought some fish and snails today and it was no different. Friendly and helpful as always. If for absolutely no other reason go there and checkout the huge wall Aquaruim. It's awesome !!!! read more

Aside from not being a fan of how they have the bettas they do a better job compared to other fish others around, they always have the tanks for the other fish clean and they aren't overcrowded fish also looked really healthy never had a problem with any fish I have bought from them read more

Jesse is rude. I found something that would work good for me in their raw items section. This material was clearly for sale. Three people found the price for me. I put it in the counter with other goods I'm purchasing and take my daughter to the restroom. I come back and the product wasn't there. I'm looking around for it and this person and say "something is missing." He says "oh yeah, that's not for sale." I'm like so you just took it out and didn't tell me as I'm sitting there to purchase it? Are you joking? The guy needs some personalization skills. I can understand saying "hey bud, I know you were going to buy those ---- but I took them out of the pile because they aren't for sale." It's fine. The Fish Gallery was always my go to prior to them moving to the new location. When they were at the old location, everyone was always helpful and friendly. Now I have to hunt down an employee for help. No one greets me when I walk in or offers to help me find anything. All the fish I've ever purchased here have been healthy, but the stuck up attitude at the new location needs to go. read more

This has gotta be the best place for aquariums hobbyist in the DFW. Hands down. Not only do they have a huge selection of products for everything you can possibly need, but Jesse and his team are extremely knowledgeable. They won't give you false info just to sell you a product or to get you off their backs. They will walk you through every step of the process to make sure you are good to go and will answer any questions you have, as many times as needed until you're 100% satisfied. I spent over an hour there today, trying to figure out why my tank wasn't cycling properly and two members of the team sat down with me and went step by step to make sure we got to the bottom of it. We did. This was a unique experience as most places are quick to give me an answer without really listening to what I'm saying. Their showroom is amazing too, clean, organized, fully stacked and their tanks look amazing. 100% recommend them over any other store/ aquarium boutique in the area. Love this place. read more

We had a horrible experience at the Fish Gallery in Dallas. We went to get medication for one of our fish that's ill. The employee told us "fish don't feel pain, so don't worry about it." and "diseases don't really get passed between fish." I was already miffed about this, but then he asked if we were healthcare workers (we are), and then proceeded to tell us, without prompting, that doctors are making up coronavirus deaths. Whether you agree with this or not, this is obviously inflammatory and derogatory and has nothing to do with the matter at hand. If this weren't enough, I asked if some of the saltwater fish were captive-bred or wild-caught and he said, "What does it matter? They'll die in someone else's tank regardless." We left without spending a dime. I have never been treated with such disrespect in any other fish/aquarium store in DFW. read more

Love the display tanks! Great selection of salt and freshwater fish, but priced on the higher end. Lots of different kinds of goldfish. Their koi in the pond outside are much more beautiful than any they have to sell here. I picked out a bag of Hikari koi food, but gave it to the manager when it looked to be expired over a year ago. I bought a different bag instead. Learned later it was $6 more than an identical bag from Petco. To be blunt though, I have no reason to buy anything here. I just like looking every time I start a new project. read more

Came to find out which tank we needed to upgrade to since we were sold cichlids without any knowing that we needed a bigger space for them. Not sure which woman we spoke to, but she has short blonde hair with the rhinestone mask... anyways I told her about our situation with the cichlids and right away she was very rude about having the fish in a small aquarium. She had an attitude and handed us over to another girl instead. We ended up talking to Zachary, who was awesome. He understood we are beginners and are obviously seeking information on how to properly care for these animals. He gave us tips and let us know what to do before continuing with our little aquarium. I've visited as many aquarium stores from Dallas to Ft Worth and this one is my favorite. They have the largest store, largest aquarium selection and as far as show tanks they build, service and set up you can see that work right in the store. From salt water, fresh water, plants, and merchandise they have it covered. Some new news is this store will close in late August 2020 but they have a new MASSIVE store opening soon in North Dallas that will impress all that come. The staff has always been very helpful with any questions or my concerns. You won't be disappointed. read more

The staff wasn't overly friendly and kinda ignored me for the first 10 minutes or so but once they found out I was buying some fish they were helpful. We shopped around the local fish shops and was recommended to swing by Fish Gallery. I'm glad we did! The place was bigger than the other fish shops we visited and had a friendly staff. The prices were reasonable too. We picked up a few hermit crabs for our tank, which were only $1 each. When our tank gets a bit more established, we'll be coming back for some fish! read more

Silly me I forgot to buy fish food for the Kraken (he's a beta fish named the Kraken he's cool). I went here and they made sure I knew how to properly take care of my cute little fish.(I mean my manly tough fish heehee). They love the fact that he lives in a measuring cup but made sure I changed the water every week and even recommended a better water cleaner. Something more geared towards Bettas. They've got a ton of fish and fish tanks and foods, and toys and I think you get the idea. read more

Went into the store, Sunday 7/14. Traded in some cichlids i received in a tank purchase got a great deal from Tom Reed the GM. Super nice guy. With my credit I purchased a Queen Arabesque Pleco. I am always over worried about my water parameters, so I checked it daily. pH: 7.5 0ppm Ammonia, and Nitrite, and 5ppm Nitrate. I have hides and a ton of plants. Almost perfect if you ask me for plecos. Queen A Pleco died within 4 days (7/18). I called, and they say no refunds or replacements or anything. So they just allow you to lose $80 bucks. Thought Tom Reed and The Fish Gallery were a great store, but don't let them fool you. Anything goes wrong and they are nowhere to be found. They claim to always be around to help and ask questions, but if it comes down to it they do not care about their customers. read more

While the previous review contains no error of content as to the locale's product stock or general knowledge base; I do, on point, amend the customer service evaluation that the recent visit's offense was not the normal expectation in the understanding that, at least from the recent communication from their management, their commitment to provide outstanding customer service is an honest one. As to product selection, this locale offers several items, even on casual observation, that are not readily available, either in branding or in volume, that will interest any aquarium hobbyist's refined needs. Depending on the requirements of your home aquarium system and stock, it is and should be understood that some common items may be found elsewhere at a lower price; and having stated that, the availability of common items along with the other varied supplies and stock may simply be convenience enough if your primary reason for visiting the store extends beyond general items and stock and requires a more refined selection, i.e. inclusive of novelty and specialty. Initially I would like to say that the store is a good store but I do not recommend for ppl that do not research prices, or don't know what the price base for an equipment is. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. I will explain that in my comments bellow. Knowledge, yes; they do offer that. Great different fish, plants and most of everything that goes along with freshwater. They recently trimmed down in the saltwater department. Me and my fiancé love the store, we used to go there every single little weekend and buy something new. I loved the ghost shrimps that they have, that you would not normally find in any other place. Love that live stock! But... I bought the most expensive fish I ever had at the time per $49.99 a red faced parrot, beautifull! Next weekend I went there, the same fish was $29.99, you can see my frustration there... But what really made me very unconfortable with the quality of business that the store offers is: We bought a marinaland LED for $70.00 and I accidentally saw it 2 weeks latter in Petsmart per $29.00. Paid $70.00 for LED Real value $29.00 We all understand that we should give value to our local owned stores, but come on! That was a rip off. After that I was really reevaluating my opinion about the store, and we started to pay attention on the things that we buy in the store. Than we did not stop going there, was a habit of ours we love fish. So... I bought another fish tank, and now I wanted something different, I had freshwater for 3 years and I wanted to change ( :) I always wanted a saltwater). So we went there and we had a wonderful help on what we needed. And it may be silly to you, but for me a store that worries about my satisfaction is very important; we bought 2 bags of salt, according with our wonderful help. There was a bucket of salt there that was the same price of the 2 bags that we were purchasing for the same price with so much more product. He didn't care to mention. That day we spent about $250.00 in products from them. That was the last purchase I did there. We started looking for another store and went to the North Dallas one. They have GREAT deals in used tanks, but now everytime I go to a local store I'm watching to see when they will rip me off. lol. So far they haven't. read more

I love the fish gallery, plain and simple. They have several amazing tanks set up just for your viewing pleasure. They have a wide variety of fish shipped in often, and always have something new and exciting. Often times, this includes something I've never seen before. The tanks are always clean and nicely set up. I don't think I've ever seen any floaters... and all of the fish I've gotten here have been healthy and live very long lives. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Most of them have been working there for years. The prices are also just about right. I would recommend this place to any fish enthusiast, or anyone looking for a tank set up. Just come in and look around. You won't be disappointed! read more
