First, don't be fooled by this strip mall establishment, because the food and service are good. I was in the area and looking for something different and local to try, and of course found this biz via Yelp. Pulling up, I noticed they had a couple of entrances, but realized once inside that one of them was solely for takeout, and boy was that takeout side busy the entire time of my dine-in service on a Sat night. The restaurant was bright and nicely decorated. It was very clean and felt comfortable in our covid world. Everyone wore their masks and things as they should and hand sani was available right at the hostess stand. There was no wait to be seated (prob because takeout was jumping), but of everyone dining in, there was so much space in between that you couldn't hear much of others conversation, which I appreciated. Physical distance win. The service was top notch and super efficient. Like I had my drink before I was even ready to choose my meal. The hostess even was leaving her stand throughout to check on tables and clean and sanitize. This is rare IMO, and I so appreciated the consideration of service here. I thought the prices were affordable, especially to get two different types of seafood of choice and two sides as a combo for around $18. I love budget friendly places for real food. I settled on the whiting fish and scallops, fried (you choose fried or broiled) with yams and collards. Actually I'd ordered corn on the cob but they were out, and I had to quickly inform my taste buds it won't happening that night. Random to want corn but whatevs. The food was good and I didn't have to season my sides (if you know, you know). The fried scallops were a little too rubbery for my liking, and the server kindly identified what may be the issue and offered I try the grilled, which was a better replacement choice. Also, my replacement was out in ample time and not enough to ruin my meal by having to eat that alone. Wow! What an excellent lunch I had here!! The restaurant was recently renovated and it looks amazing inside! It's uber-clean, so are the restrooms. They have an excellent menu, loaded with some really nice seafood options, as well as fried chicken and various handhelds. Their sides are made in-house. I tried their cole slaw and potato salad and both were done perfectly! They will prepare the various fish, shrimp, etc fried or grilled. I chose grilled shrimp tacos and these were some of the best seafood-style tacos I've ever had! The shrimp was seasoned and cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! The sauces on the tacos were a very nice compliment to the shrimp and other items on them! They were loaded, but not messy to eat. I can't wait to go back.... And you would think that making sure your cooks aren't breathing in the same air WITHOUT A MASK DURING A PANDEMIC THAT IS PASSED FROM PERSON TO PERSON BY BREATHING THE SAME AIR would be more important to you. I guess not.‍ Also, OSHA guidance, recently released, says, in part: "Select and implement appropriate engineering controls (e.g., physical barriers/shields to separate workers, enhanced ventilation), and administrative controls (e.g., staggering work shifts, limiting breakroom capacity, practicing social distancing, replacing in-person meetings with video-conference calls, ensuring workers wear appropriate face coverings, such as cloth face masks, to contain respiratory secretions), and providing and ensuring workers use appropriate PPE, identified through hazard assessments and in accordance with OSHA's standards at 29 CFR 1910, Subpart I, and OSHA and CDC guidance on use of PPE. Came here for my dads birthday this year... I'm not familiar with spotsy, so I drove past it twice before being directed to the restaurant. It was pretty slow there, but everything looked clean. Our waitress was nice but didn't know mitch about the food. I tend to have specific questions. Was the fish farm raised or wild caught? Was it sustainably sourced? What ocean did it come from? I'm allergic to scallops from certain oceans, so I need to know these things! My scallops were daystuff, perfectly seared. The mashed potatoes were okay, and u stole my dad's hush puppies because they were soooooo scrumptious! Service was okay, but they did give my dad free dessert for his birthday, so that was a win! The Wife and I came in 8/15 for a Birthday lunch. There was a sign on the door stating no party's over six due to short staff. Should have heeded the Warning. Very nice waitress took our order and the wait began. Numerous tables were sitting patiently. I noticed food on the shelf but Noone was picking it up. Finally a table of four received part of their order without one meal for a child. They sat patiently for another five minutes and the plate was delivered. Other servers were waiting for their orders while a young man wearing mirrored sun glasses on his forehead conversed with the hostess. I'm guessing he was the manager. He never made an effort to speed up the service. The table next to us received a plate of Fried Chicken that was undercooked and sent back. Finally our plates came and the appearance was perfect. Salmon was cook perfect and Crab Cake was seared and Oysters were crunchy outside and tasty. As the waitress came to see if we were good I bit into a large piece of shell that was heard through out the dining area. I also told the waitress the men's bathroom floor was wet from over splash at the sink. To my knowledge no one went and checked it. I wasn't going to post this since we have had good experiences there but today 8/19 they are posted alot of false rumors are going around. We all ordered a fish dinner meal. I had white fish fried. Flounder fish dinner and Tilapia fish dinner. After the meal, we all liked our sides of broccoli, asparagus, fries and cole slaw, but we all felt the fish was too fishy, dry and tough to enjoy. Tried the fried catfish platter and whiting platter first day, we were in heaven! Seasoned well, crispy fried, tarter sauce on point! Added the sides - they're all amazing!!!! The hush puppies are my favorite - I haven't had hush puppies that good since I was a child, and going to get them from a restaurant on City Island in NYC. The server yelled "yea but you already said its a party of 12 and we are short staffed and I'm really busy, Its only two of us on the floor and we just cant. We're probably even closing early." The hostess Kyle would not give me the managers name and stated "I don't have to give you that information". We have been to Fish N' Grill serval Times in the last 3 months and every time we go the food and service is great. Located on 208 this restaurant is locally owned by a great family. Food is always delicious and I have tried several different items including there fish, fried chicken, crab legs and crab cake. The most recent time I had a platter that consisted of fish ( your choice, I had flounder) scallops, shrimp, grilled crab cake and sides. My wife had fish and chips and my daughter had crab legs. My wife commented that the fish and chips were some of the best she had. For crab legs they only sell by the pound and not as a meal with sides unless you pay extra for the sides. We went on Sunday afternoon. The place was busy but we were seated right away. The waitress was fantastic. We ordered the crab dip as our appetizer. It was great warm and a lot of bread. My wife had the fish and chips. Wow what a serving size (too much). I had the crab cake burger. The crab was cooked to perfection. The sauce was so good. We left full and had leftovers for later. Date of attempted visit: July 4, 2021 We had never been there and with all the wonderful comments we decided to try. So BEFORE we left and made a 45 minute drive, we called to see if they were open. The answer was, "yes, but we are closing at 6pm. Kitchen closes at 5:30". I told them our GPS, said 4:58 and we were told that was not a problem at all!!! We arrived at 4:55 and they told us they were closing at 5pm!!!
