First time here and I must say it's a hidden Gem! Great service the lady was the only one on the floor and she took care of our every need. She was on top of it and when a booth was available she kept us in mind and asked if we wanted to move tables to a bigger one which was above and beyond. For starters we got the crab sliders that come with French fries so good!!! The bread was fluffy the sauce they use on the crab cakes was delicious!!! I will say only reason I didn't give it 5/5 stars was due to the price in steam pot we got. $20 dollars each just seemed expensive for the amount that was given. The steam pot was delicious and would recommend but I would pay $15 each for the steam pot. Definitely worth trying and driving out to get good seafood. It's been years since I've came back here. They changed things. No longer an order at the counter restaurant. You sit down and order like any other place. The menu looks bigger. We tried the shrimp cheese dip. Very good and huge size. I had the soft crab sandwich and it came with perfectly cooked bacon. It was a tad salty for my man but it was perfect for me. We gave this restaurant a chance today. They knocked it out of the park. When you first drive up, it's in a strip mall but when you walk through their front door it is absolutely beautiful inside. Everything was yummy, the only thing that I would say needs improvement is the seasoning on the sides. Found this cool lil place from fellow Yelpers & I am glad I did. You order at the counter and they kinda call for you when the order is ready. I ordered the shrimp & fish combo- I went for the trout. I was kinda overwhelmed by what to order because the menu had a lot to offer, plus they had specials. WIth my combo, I got mac & cheese (which pretty much kicked ass!) and the cucumber salad, which was also really good. Their hushpuppies were cute- they were in little stick form, vs balls. I am not used to getting fried food, but their coating is very thin and delicious. I got their sweet tea and it was way too sweet- had to pour it out. Btw- I think their cocktail sauce was awesome! Tried this place while in Fredericksburg on a whim. While it is in a strip mall,there is nothing that makes the place feel or look cheap. There was no wait when we went which is always a plus. The restaurant had great covid measures in place from what i can see and all the patrons where following social distancing guidelines I decided to order the Fish and shrimp platter. The first thing i will have to say is that the time from being seated until the food came was FAST!! I feel like we where not even seated about 7 mins and the order of fries we ordered as a appetizer came out. The food was followed about 10 mins after we ordered it. I like that fact that they give you the option of choosing the type of fish you would like rather than you just being stuck to one type. I got the catfish which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp where also very good and had a great batter on them. The hush puppies where good but nothing spectacular. My steamed broccoli was tasty as well. Nice little seafood stop close by the interstate. We were driving up to New York from Richmond and was planning to stop by DC for some seafood but my husband couldn't wait for another hour of travel so we yelped this place. Nothing fancy about the venue, it's almost like a cafeteria but the food is solid. I had the grilled shrimp and scallops with greens and yam, all are good except the rice that comes with it is a little hard. My husband has the fisherman's combo which comes with 3 catfish fillet, 3 fried scallop, 1 big crab cake, some hush puppies and greens and corns. A lot of food for a big guy like my husband. After hearing a few recommendations from our server Travis. We decided to go with Family Platter A. Which included 4 pieces of fish, your choice (whiting, talpia, catfish, trout, flounder, croacker ) grilled or fried. We ordered the croaker, whiting, trout, flounder. The croacker was huge and the tastiest of all in my opinion. It also comes with 4 crab balls, 12 piece shrimp,hush puppies and three large sides. For the sides we ordered candied yams (absolutely delicious) Mac n cheese and fries for the kids. The Mac n cheese had a nice flavor just wished it was creamy it had a custard base but was also delicious. The fries and hush puppies were good too. It was so much food and priced very reasonable for that much food. Oh and the sweet to was excellent. Our server let me know the sweet tea was very sweet so he recommended doing half sweet and half none sweet. Excellent. I will say the best sweet tea I've ever had and I'm a southern girl. (Good sign) Placed order and sat to wait, within 5 minutes at least ten more customers (good sign #2) Food fish and oyster combo was delicious Not a fan of the collard greens noticed another customer nearby left hers untouched. Our server was adorable and sweet (sorry I didn't catch her name but she has pink hair and pretty eyes) and took our order right away. I ordered the crab cakes meal with two sides and my hubs got the crab cake and flounder with sides. Let's just say we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was. Normally I can choose a favorite from my meal but the crab cakes were delicious, grilled with the perfect crispness, the potato salad was very close to my moms (my all time favorite) with the perfect amount of onion and celery, the candied yams OMG! I will definitely be stopping here again. The catfish was perfectly fried, not over cooked and hard like other places. The candied yams and mac & cheese is on point. Even the water was good! We have lived in the area for a year now, and have driven by this place on numerous occasions. Just never had the opportunity to try. Recently did take out and was very pleased. Fish (flounder) and shrimp with collard greens and hush puppies, and crab soup. Food was delicious, especially the soup. The young gentleman that took my take out order was very friendly and helpful. This place sets the tone in FXBG especially when it comes to down home southern sides. I thought I knew what was up with good Mac and cheese or collard greens but this place stands out from the rest. Here is the break down - Apps - fried clams and gizzards (not everyone's cup of sweet tea) both were solid on breading and delivery. Flavor was there in both though gizzards were somewhat gummy but then again it's a gizzard. The clams had clam so don't worry it won't be a let down or scavenger hunt. Entrees - Crab cakes / Fried Shrimp Crab cakes rich and full of crab, flavor wasn't overwhelming in seasoning but creamy enough to stand alone as the best crab cakes I've had restaurant wise. Fried shrimp were nicely breaded with corn batter making them not too heavy and the shrimp were a good size. Don't worry on getting Popeyes or cup of noodles tiny shrimp. Mac and cheese is a must. Cheesy creamy slightly sweet in all the good ways beside flavor. Collard greens had all the flavor you've been looking for without the butter back. Both well worth it. Top it off with banana pudding or sweet potato pie and it's a wrap. Place was so good had to hit it twice to make sure the fam got the goodness. This place is in the process of being voted one of the top spots for seafood and food to pick up and it stands true to what the locals like. Being out from Cali and around this way more often than just once in a while I know where I'll be looking forward to hitting up for that southern goodness especially seafood wise. read more

What a transformation. It's been awhile since our last visit and they renovated the place. They did a fantastic job including an area for a private party. The menu appeared to have changed slightly but still offering very good choices. The grilled scallops and shrimp were excellent and their coleslaw was delicious. The only issue was the calamari as it was over cooked so it was tuff. It was also strange that it came with fries and too many fries and not enough calamari. Still a must stop. read more
