Came here to dinner with my Girlfriend's family for authentic Chinese food! The place is quite large and we had a private room to accommodate 15 people. First off service was awesome. They have a round table in the center which spins around so people can take food. And boy did the food come. Delicious on all accounts! if you want authentic Chinese Fish Village is your place in College Point

Highly recommend! Seafood here is amazing and fresh! Pick what you want from the tanks whether it's lobster, shrimp, crabs, etc. We ordered geoduck, scallop, shrimp, uni. It was love at first bite. They also have private rooms available. Best to call ahead for reservation. It is a bit pricey but well worth the price.

Food: 4.5/5. Ambiance: 2/5. Surprisingly good food at this restaurant, but it felt as if you were eating in the seafood section of a Chinese supermarket. They are going for an authentic street food vibe. Based on how crowded the restaurant was, decor/ambiance was not a major factor. If you're just looking for good Cantonese style seafood, I would recommend this place. In my opinion however, if you're paying hundreds of dollars for a meal, a nicer setting would be preferable.

Seafood lover's fantasy! The food was great and the staff were friendly. The best part of this restaurant is the private rooms with karaoke and a private bathroom. Great for family parties.

This review is solely based on the ambiance and food since I didn't pay for the meal. The ambiance is great. The restaurant seems spacious and airy. The decor is underwater themed, which is fun. Visited twice and all the seafood we had were fresh since they are available on-site. The fried lobster is a classic and was delicious without being too oily. Steamed Scallops were great and a must try. I really loved the noodles and toppings on the scallops, which helped to elevate the dish -- definitely one of my favorites. The chicken we had was really good too with the right portion size. It was tender and flavorful. Definitely recommend this place if you love traditional Chinese cooking and seafood.

Good experience, if you're looking for seafood Cantonese street stir fry style this place is it. Australian lobster sashimi is a must try. they also have private rooms with KTV if you have a big party. Just beware, 30% extra processing fee for certain seafood from the tank.

A bit out of the way. Food was just ok, and overly expensive with a 30% processing fee on top of each live seafood dish. Waiter recommended the large mantis shrimp. They were very mediocre. We also had geoduck two ways: sashimi and salt + pepper fried. The fried part tasted overly heavy and greasy compared to when I had the same dish at other places in the past. Frankly the best dish from the meal was the sautéed morning glory which came in generous portions. (Geoduck sashimi was also good - really cannot mess up this dish even if you tried especially given the price.) Would not return. With this price point, I could have gone to Le Bernardin instead of a rando seafood place in Flushing.

Chinese seafood restaurant with nice open windows and fresh seafood! The fish took a long time to come out but taste wise - everything was amazing. I ordered a bunch of dishes (pictured) and my favorite was the clams. Even the lamb chops here were amazing and priced cheaper than this dish would be in other restaurants.

Legit fresh seafood galore. I haven't been to a Cantonese restaurant in a long time and this one doesn't disappoint. My friends picked this place and are regulars here. After you get seated, you go up to the counter and place your seafood, how you want it cooked and what appetizers or soups. We ordered the crab with fish paw soup, razor clams, crab (3 ways; sticky rice, steamed over vermicelli and fried with egg yolk and garlic), salt and pepper pork chops, veggies, regular clams and fresh water shrimp. I highly recommend the pork chops and the crab 3 ways. But, just be mindful that they skimped out on the vermicelli... Barely any of it under the crab. I took a star off for the smokiness... There are VIP karaoke rooms in the back and some were smoking in there. Yuck! The smell really made dinner unpleasant.

If you like seafood, they have a lot of different variety to choose, you pick out the fresh seafood from the tanks and they prepare for you. Please note that there is a 30% processing fee on all seafood. Our group of 7 came in for dinner one weekend and we enjoyed it. The highlights of the night was the Geoduck sashimi, it was really good. But the salt & pepper style was just okay. We really seafood out with Steamed Oysters & Steamed Scallops in XO Sauce, Razor clams, and Dungeness Crabs. Also tried the Chicken, beef and veggie dishes, all were okay. There are VIP rooms available for private dinner as well.

We arrived early for dinner and was able to get a table, no problem. When you walk in, there are rows of tanks filled with crabs, lobsters, shrimps and other exotic sea crustaceans (if you want to venture to new delicacies, this is the place to try them!) The restaurant itself does not scream Michelin at all, you are basically eating on top of plastic wraps. The service also nothing to be thrilled about either. The food, however is no frills attached. Solid Asian flavors and cooking. We ordered the king crab, which was cooked in 3 different ways, steamed, fried and in a rice dish. The sea bass fish was excellent! Definitely recommend this. Can't cook at home the way they make it here. Overall food is good, but prices are expensive. For this type of decor, the prices they charge should be of Michelin quality.

Fish Village is an ode to authentic Chinese seafood, hidden away on the third floor of a nondescript building in Queens, surrounded by seemingly industrial and warehouse properties. Though it may lack the pomp and circumstance of some of its Manhattan and Queens counterparts, the unassuming and whacky décor of Fish Village hide the bounty of live seafood dishes within. The sky blue painted walls and whimsical aquarium stickers paraded along the walls contrast with the shouting Cantonese and the sounds of water bubbles from the aquarium tanks within. The food is fresh as can be and the chefs will cook the seafood in whatever style you choose. Steamed, fried, over rice, over vermicelli, in a soup, mixed with eggs and custard, or however you wish it. And the variety extends to king crab, lobster, all types of fish, oysters, scallops, geoducks, abalone, clams, and so on. For thoes that don't even like seafood, you can order the salt and pepper pork chops, which are a deep fried succulent juicy fatty pork wrapped within the fragrant peppery crisp exterior crusting. Sending the very best to this Chinese small business after the restaurant was oddly targeted by vandals. I have no idea what prompted the attack, but hoping this is the end and hoping Fish Village can rebound from the damage.

Ticky tack... and bring your own seafood forks. This seafood restaurant has a wall of tanks with swimming creatures. During our lunch, Canadian king crabs are the majority. Be mindful that there is cooking fee added on, aside from the cost of the crab or lobster, etc. This reminds me of Quarry Bay in Hong Kong, where we purchased our seafood and picked a small boat to cook and dine there. The service is adequate. The bathroom is clean. The food is fresh. I don't think they serve drinks. Some white wines would be nice. Anyway, two small incidents: The first one is we wanted to or the geoduck clam which is on sale for $19.99 but the guy took down the sales sign and said, "it's $29.99". The second one came after we paid. As we lingered a little longer, one staff came to say, "sorry, we made a mistake, charged you less." The crab was 5.3 lb but they entered as 3.15 lb. One of my friend said, "I'm sorry too but it's a done deal." I would have paid the shortfall but thinking the first incident, I said nothing. 'We're even.' It's on the third floor with an out door parking lot, they cover 2 hours.

Service was minimal at best but they just seemed under staffed honestly. And when the server did come by, she was running quickly to and from. The place was not busy when my friends and I were seated. But there was a back room in guessing that had occupants since she was missing in the front seating area. (There was a two person table occupied in the front near us). My party of three over ordered but that was intentional because, any purchase over $100, you get a free lobster and each of us had items we wanted, figured we would doggie bag the leftovers. All in all a great value. The lunch spread had over 7 dishes and we got the free lobster. I was especially happy to see Fried Milk on the menu as an appetizer. They also provide complimentary salted peanuts and pickled radish and carrot slivers. I recommend the snow pea shoots, fried milk, clams with black bean sauce and the Chinese Broccoli with Filet beef. The other dishes like the lobster, noodles and sweet and sour pork were executed well but just not my flavor profile. And with my food allergy, I couldn't try the shrimp with walnuts but it was my friends' birthday so she ordered that for her treat. It looked great! There's complimentary parking if you validate your ticket with a nearby garage, but you need to spend a minimum.

We were famished and only focused on what yummy dishes to order. My wife, son and daughter all contributed their suggestions and we ended up ordering pan fried whole flounder, half of the roast chicken with garlic, filet mignon with Chinese broccoli, fried rice with chicken and salted fish and everyone's favorite dish salt & pepper squid. Once we placed our order and were enjoying the roasted peanuts and free spicy cabbage we realized why everyone had their winter coats on, it felt like they had the AC on and it must have been 55° in the restaurant. I told everyone that once the food arrived things would warm up. Each dish that came out of the kitchen was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The salt & pepper squid with it's minced jalapeños kept us warm enough until the half chicken with garlic and filet mignon and Chinese broccoli came out in rapid succession. The star of the show turned out to be the giant sized pan fried flounder which was not only big but quite scrumptious. Unlike the little scrawny flounder that most other restaurants usually served this was a quite large and very meaty and perfectly cooked. The last dish to come out was a very large plate of chicken fried rice with salted fish. If it were not for the lack of heat, I would have given Chef Wong Bistro 5 stars!

My favorite was the shrimp cheung fun--it's one of my go-to dim sum dishes, and this one did not disappoint. Since we have relatives who live on opposite ends of Queens, this location has always been a good halfway point. Two things: 1. This place is truly exhausting during dim sum on the weekends. People will try to get on top of you (and I don't mean that in the best way). 2. Dim sum selection is intentionally small and service is slow to provoke you to order the expensive entree dishes. The dim sum is nothing to write home about at all and is just sufficient enough for any dim sum craving. There's no consistency with the quality, as well as the quantity. The same also goes for the large dishes, though I've only eaten dinner here once or twice since the new management, and there wasn't anything memorable. Service is generally okay, but the employees are definitely overworked during the weekend lunch hours. It's as if everyone who doesn't live in or around Flushing comes here, hence the insane crowds.

The restaurant is partitioned up into several different rooms where they will push carts in and out of the rooms themselves. We didn't have to wait too long to get any of the desired dishes that we wanted. Ambience: I think your typical staple dim sum restaurant ambiance was here. Definitely felt very conversational with family. Was not too quiet or too loud. Food: I don't think that the dim sum here was that good. It didn't wow me as much as I was expecting it to. I initially saw this on one of the Michelin Guide website, and I was expecting a little more out of this place. Of all the places that I've had dim sum at, I just feel like this was more okay rather than anything special. For example the shumai didn't have that "juicy bite" kind of feel that you usually get. Again, nothing about this restaurant was bad per se, but I just felt like this was in the lower tier of all the dim sum places that I've had. I think for this reason, it gets a 3/5 for me.

THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Spacious interior with LOTs of tables. + Private parking lot was a MAJOR plus in NYC as it's such a rarity for restaurants here. The lot was tight, but had a good number of spots. Gets full on weekends, however turnover is quick. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------- + Dropped in with my family and a group of friends at 12:15 PM and, surprisingly, didn't have to wait long for a table for 10 people. If we had 2-4 people only, we would not have waited more than 5 minutes!

I always order a whole duck, with the whoke duck there's the internal juices and marinade that you can request them to put in a to go container, its great for dipping and gives extra flavor if you need it. The ducks is cooked to perfection, its never overcooked nor raw. The skin is nice and crispy while the meat is tender and juicy. Definitely give the duck a try.

The service was decent, but the food just didn't deliver. At dinner, the salt and pepper pork chops were thin, over-fried, dry, and lacked flavor. The black pepper steak was smothered in sauce, and the beef texture suggested it had been overly tenderized. The BBQ duck was especially disappointing -- it tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave. Overall, the dishes lacked seasoning, depth of flavor, and that smoky wok hei you expect from good Cantonese cooking. Lunch was slightly better, but still inconsistent. The congee itself was good, though the dried squid was so tough it felt like chewing on rubber. The steamed rice rolls with peanut sauce were another letdown; instead of being freshly steamed, the noodles seemed microwaved, making them firm and dry rather than soft and chewy. I also ordered a fish and tofu dish covered in brown sauce, but it was completely bland. I really wanted to like this place, especially after giving it multiple chances, but unfortunately the third time was not the charm.
