So yummy and authentic! The dishes are not Westernized at all and still have a spicy kick when necessary (ie., mapo tofu was not the American version). The interior looks nice although as with any booth seating, it's hard to clean so there's like rice and such at my seat. Not the end of the world just brush it off. Service was efficient. For food, it's one of the rare places that serve live lobster sashimi (it was still moving). The taste was more on the bland side since it's the spiny lobster not the maine ones. Can skip this one. Best thing was the steamed blue crab over sticky rice. A very "whole" dish where rice has crab taste and vice versa. The raw crab was special and a change from the Korean ones. Would recommend. The hot and sour soup was not it though. Avoid it. It was sweet.. thought i ordered dessert. All-in select dishes were +. Service was +. Ambiance ehhh. I have a mix review for this restaurant the first time I went to this restaurant was with six people we like this so much we went 2 day later and inviting some of our friends. Second time I went was with 10+ people and the food was pretty disappointing. A first visit the food was on point display was really nice and the service was great. A tad too oily, but less than other restaurants. Sadly, if my favorite dish were the snow pea tips, then the entrees were alright. This place is pricier than other restaurants in flushing, but I believe their portions are bigger, or at least it seemed to be. The twice cooked pork had potential to be really good, but it was a bit too bland. The many spices pork and taro was more like sweet and sour. The taro were great. The pork I felt was a bit too sweet. The fried duck and taro sticks were also too sweet. If it wasn't sweet, it would've been great! The drunken chicken was surprisingly very flavorful. I think this place have done the best cold, chicken appetizer I've had in NYC. The fried rice was a bit of a letdown. It was very peppery and I didn't taste any notes of truffle. The food tasted ok with fancy plating. Service was ok with many plate changes between courses. The downfall was the "private" room which we had to share with another rowdy and obnoxious group. There was a few pull-down screens but that did nothing to muffle their voices and boisterous behavior. Just awful! It could've been a lovely meal for our group but for the shared room. We may have been better off not closes in with that group --sound could've travelled outside our shared room. Not likely to go again. This place was a pleasant surprise. There were many authentic Chinese dishes. The restaurant itself had beautiful decor and the staff were attentive and friendly. The black tea, cucumber salad, and seaweed salad all complimentary. They served some of the best fried noodles I've ever tasted. It's definitely something to try for yourself. We were very pleased with our first time visit to this delightful delishousness of a Fujianese Feast on Prince Street in Flushing. The service was very good and very fast. It's a brand new restaurant that has a couple of minor things to work out. I recommend that they serve ice water and not at room temperature. It was a very small issue they brought a whole ice bucket to the table. I found the food to be delicious. The garlic butterflied tiger shrimp and the fried seabass balls are pure heaven never experienced anything like this the presentation is excellent. The restaurant overall is very aesthetically pleasing, fancy and very clean. The service was not bad overall and the young staff members tried to accomodate and explain the menu to us of all the availabilities of the food. The plating of the food was well assembled and fancy in many ways. However, overall the food was very poorly cooked, especially that it was not warm or cooked thoroughly in many ways. The sticky rice particularly, was poor quality and was not well cooked, because it did not have any flavor in my opinion and my family was very disappointed as well. The Pickle Cabbage Fish did not have any sour cabbage in it, which was extremely underwhelming. Overall, I can go on and on, but the summary is that the food flavor profile was poor and overpriced for what it was worth... kind of disappointing way of making Fujian style food. I would not recommend anyone to come here in any capacity unless you wanna be fancy. read more
