    This spot used to be "Ping's", which shut down a few years ago. It's slightly different in the inside. There is a section that was converted into to two banquet rooms for private functions. The food is still wonderful. We loved everything. The sauce for the seafood pan fried noodles could have used a little bit more seasoning. The service is great. You have a staff of seasoned veterans who just know how to do things around. Very polite and quick to respond. Can't ask for anything more. This place is worth revisiting. Definitely going to be back, especially when I'm in town visiting my folks

    lol thankfully no one got sick from this meal (afterwards) but we reserved a big friend family style dinner and one of my friends stepped in the sticky mouse trap under the table of the private room. and the mouse stuck on the trap was still alive. the host and waiters tried their best to de-escalate the situation but this was already halfway through our dinner and we lost our appetites for the rest of the remaining courses. despite this misfortune, the food was very yummy and authentically cantonese. would probably still return for future dimsum and dinner meals. just hoping they have a solid health and sanitation code next time.

    My experience and review is base my banquet style dinner. The service was quick, food came out quickly. I tried the following dishes: 1. Salmon & Conch Sashimi 2. Stir-Fried Conch with Crispy Tofu 3. Shark's Fin Soup with Chunks of Crabmeat 4. Rack of Lamb with Broccoli 5. Squab 6. Salt and peppered House Special Style Dungeness Crab 7. Steamed House Special Style Dungeness Crab 8. Crab Fried Rice 9. Sautéed Snow Pea Shoots in Lobster Sauce 10. Baby Shrimp. 11. Steamed Carp 12. Crab Fried Rice 13. Braised Noodles w/Chives I like all the dishes but my favorite was the lamb and shark fin soup. My only complaint was the restaurant was packed and I felt squished in my seat, so it was a little uncomfortable eating there. The restaurant is close to the R train Grand Av-Newtown station.If you drive, they have the restaurant has their own parking lot and it cost only $5 to park.

    - Made reservations for a party of 18 at noon on a Sunday; tables were ready for us ahead of our reservation time; we were seated in the semi-private space in the rear - Parking is challenging during the dim sum rush; there is a small customer lot on the side, but it appears unavailable until after 3 p.m. on Sundays - The dining room was busy, loud, and tightly packed with tables crammed close together--expected for a weekend dim sum crowd, but still uncomfortable - Service was typical: efficient enough, but strictly task-oriented - We ordered lunch dishes from the menu and picked a few dim sum items to snack on while waiting for the food - Overall, everything was average and nothing stood out: the Chinese vegetables had good garlic flavor but were overcooked; the chicken chow fun lacked smoky, charred notes and needed more wok hei; the salted baked pork chops were the highlight with a crispy exterior and juicy meat that wasn't overly greasy; the chicken chow mein was bland and needed more seasoning--noodles had no crunch and were chewy/stale - Unfortunately, we also found a sesame-sized roach crawling on one of the water cups--something you hope to never encounter, even if it's not entirely surprising; we didn't have it stick around long enough for a photo; found myself examining every bite carefully throughout the meal

    This review is based on dinner service and focused on authentic Cantonese dishes at Ocean Bay Seafood in Elmhurst. We ordered the steak kew with asparagus in oyster sauce, sautéed spinach, and a grouper filet stir-fried with snap peas, lotus root, carrots, and celery. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked with skill. Portions were generous, and while prices were on the higher end, the quality justified it. Service was attentive and professional. There's a $5 parking lot around the corner with an attendant, which is a big plus in the area. The main drawback: a large, constantly flashing Jumbotron screen in the dining area, which made for a visually noisy atmosphere. If you're focused on the food, though, this spot delivers solid Cantonese cooking with a modern presentation.

    We came here Sunday for my grandma's birthday dinner celebration. This place serves authentic Chinese cuisine. Everything was so delicious! After they renovated this place, the interior is much more beautiful and the service was amazing! No complaints! The food was super delicious! Every plate was cleaned, there were no leftovers! A great place to have dinner with my family!

    Still one of the few legit places to get dim sum in Queens without going into Flushing. The dim sum is still decent, prices are still good, and their dinner menu is also extensive. We like coming here for authentic Cantonese dinner when we're in Queens, because it's a lot more peaceful than places in Flushing. The service is hit or miss - some servers are helpful and attentive and some look like they're dreaming and they can be slow. But honestly I don't go to Chinese restaurants for service.

    Came here on a rainy, chilly Saturday night for my Niece's Baby's 100th Day Celebration. Each banquet table had a set menu for $1,298, times that by 12 and it was a full house. Restaurant is new, modern, and beautifully decorated. The tables were a bit tight though. The food here blew me away. They are known for their seafood and each dish delivered. Here is what all 120 guests had... - Red Eggs (symbolizing joy, renewed life, & good fortune) - Salmon & Conch Sashimi - Stir-Fried Conch w/Crispy Tofu - Shark's Fin Soup w/Chunks of Crabmeat - Rack of Lamb w/Broccoli - Crispy Squab (no they are not off the streets of NYC. Lol). - House Special Style Dungeness Crab (salt & peppered style) - House Special Style Dungeness Crab (steamed) - Crab Fried Rice - Sautéed Snow Pea Shoots in Lobster Sauce - Lie Lieu Ha (baby shrimp, they are incredibly sweet) - Steamed Carp - Crab Fried Rice - Braised Noodles w/Chives Desserts - Mini Sesame Balls & Almond Cookies - Fruit Platter (Oranges & Honeydew) - Taro Sago Dessert Soup - Vanilla & Green Tea Birthday Cake Service is a 10/10. The lovely hostess was friendly, the manager and the entire staff all pitched in and they were all bustling their a$$ off to make sure every guest was having a good time. Parking in Elmhurst is impossible but luckily Ocean Bay Seafood has their own parking lot with an attendant. Cost is only $5. I know, I was like whatttt?? $5 only??     Food brings people together within the continental U.S. from coast to coast. My family member's collegiate friends of 50+ years follows the golden years. Reservations for our two tables (8 people + 6 people = 14 total). The maître d' is entirely absent from the hostess stand as we waited to be seated as part of the reservation; ergo, my family member conducted a walk-through the entire restaurant to locate our party member and tables in a semi-private room separated by a partition. Nevertheless, the staff is accommodating to our large party's with changing plates, moist towelettes, providing one wooden child high chair, and takeout baggie for leftovers. Takeout menus and business cards are both available for grabs which is now included in my collection. Dinner certainly ate my fill for authentic Cantonese cuisine in Elmhurst, Queens. Peking Pork Chops, ging1 dou1 paai4 gwat1 京都排骨 A classic Chinese meat entrée that is delicious as I was absolutely elated for rich fulfillment. Chinese Seafood Bird Nest, hoi2 sin1 zoek3 caau4 凤凰巢 A common Hong Kong Chinese cuisine that Ocean Bay prepared it correctly. The deep-fried formation basket that holds a seafood-and-vegetable stir-fry for both shrimp and scallops, snow peas, boneless fish fillet, celery sticks, straw mushrooms, and calamari. The noodle basket was, thankfully, not very hard that I was able to pick-up the egg noodles. I always enjoyed the floral shaped cut carrots. Sautéed Roasted Chicken The chicken was hard particularly the skin as I felt it was overcooked. Cantonese-Style Ginger Scallion Lobster The protein of the lobster was cooked very well that it was easily able to be removed from the lobster's shell. Fried rice This was slightly salty with pieces of egg and scallions. I believe salt was used in preparation rather than soy sauce which is non-traditional, but perhaps is the "reboot" Americanized version? Red bean soup, hung4 dau6 tong1 紅豆湯 This classic Chinese dessert soup dish was average. Fresh cut orange Average.

    This place has been my family's go to places for dimsum for years and we were back today. We came around 12:30 PM and the line to wait for a table was crazy. They give you a number to call when your table is ready. The wait was only 20 minutes but there wasn't much room to wait so everyone was crowded around the front, so I suggest getting there earlier closer to 10 AM. We ordered our usual beef chow fun, steamed ribs, shrimp rice rolls, shu mai, chicken feet, and beef stomach. Everything from the steamers were super good, hot, and flavorful. Especially loved the juicy shrimp in the rice rolls and the savory filling of the shumai. The chow fun was a little on the bland side but you can taste the smokiness of the wok hei. Overall, still a solid place for dimsum but I would definitely recommend getting there early to beat waiting around.

    Crazy crowded during weekend dim sum hours for sub-par dim sum. Ever since the old Ping's Restaurant closed down a few years ago and rebranded, I was always curious as to what would be done with the space --- in comes Ocean Bay Seafood Restaurant to try to carry on the dim sum tradition here. Unfortunately, the dim sum was a pretty big let down. First, I read that there is a small parking lot for this restaurant up on Goldsmith St and that you only have to pay a few dollars to park there. If that's the case, then we completely missed it. To put it lightly, parking is a nightmare in this area, especially during prime dining hours for dim sum. Luckily, we found a parking spot only 1 block away on Queens Blvd within 15 minutes, but patrons can easily circle for 30 minutes with no luck. In addition, Goldsmith St is super tight to the point of having 2 way traffic is impossible, but somehow it's a 2 way street. We arrived at about 12pm on a hot Saturday afternoon and didn't get seated until about 12:50ish. Waiting was not the issue because I will wait all day to try food if I have to (ok maybe not all day, but you get my drift), but the wait area WAS a huge issue. The restaurant isn't all that big and with all of the people waiting in the cramped space to escape the heat, it absolutely became a fire hazard. When we were finally seated, food came over fast and furious as the dim sum carts circled around the tight restaurant like an F1 race. They pretty much have the usual dim sum fare and we were able to try their pork dumplings, chicken feet, beef and shrimp rice rolls, steamed meatballs, steamed spare ribs, sticky rice, egg tarts and coconut jelly. Also, since we were in the celebratory mood - like VERY celebratory mood, we also ordered a shredded chicken pan fried noodle, flat rice noodle with chicken AND 2 Cantonese-style lobsters for good measure. I mentioned the disappointment in the food and the negative feedback was mostly centered around the dim sum and the fact that some of the saucy dim sum dishes - like the steamed spare ribs and chicken feet had a "slimy" texture to them. The sauce was a bit too gelatinous and thick for my liking. The pork dumplings were OK as were the rice rolls. The egg tarts, which they served the larger variety, were excellent. As for my favorite dim sum dessert, coconut jelly, it was rather flavorless compared to other restaurants. The pan fried noodle was decent, but once again a bit too "slimy". The 2 lobsters were good, albeit a bit smaller than we anticipated. Overall, our experience was meh. The parking in the area is tough and the wait was expected. However, they have a little bit of work to do on the flavor of the dim sum and need to do something about the sauce on the dishes. The kitchen entrees were OK, so maybe dinner could be decent, but dim sum was a thumbs down.

    Second visit. Delighted with our choices. The fresh, live, steamed fish was marvelous. Such nice texture. The clams were very fresh. Can never go wrong with pea shoots sautéd with garlic. The big clam dish was a first for us and we quite liked it. Our servers were very nice and helpful. This place is now our go to for Cantonese cuisine this side of town.

    I've only did take out from here for the lunch specials which is pretty good. It use to be $10 an ordered but recently increased to $11.50. The food is pretty tasty. I would order 3 to 5 dishes and pickup around 3:30 so I can have dinner with the family.

If you grew up going to Big Wong and Wing Wong (or any place with a clear view of a hanging roast pig on the window), Shun Wang will bring back nostalgia. I'm biased since I spent a good chunk of my childhood eating this kind of food in Chinatown, but Shun Wang's food is just sufficient enough to fill those cravings. Their price points are pretty high for Elmhurst (where most restaurants haven't raised the prices the way Chinatown or Flushing have, luckily), and their food is just OK. I mainly go for the sake of eating something I'm familiar with my whole life, and people I can still speak the language with. My parents go to their Flushing location and said that the quality has fallen since covid.

Maybe we just ordered the wrong item and should've gotten the baked noodles instead of the rice? Overall the food was okay, the service was good and the restaurant liked very nice and clean.
