Yellowfin tuna caught at Guadalupe Island
Jerry L.

Fisherman's Processing is my main processor for my yearly Shogun trip to Guadalupe Island. Sean and his team are there to meet the boat even when we're usually arriving at 6am at Fisherman's Landing. Shogun and Fisherman's have their system for unloading and weighing the fish straight from Shogun's RSW (Refrigerated Salt Water) hold. Customer's are given a receipt for their weighed fish. Processing can be done same day or you can have Fisherman's freeze your processed fish for pickup at a future date. The Fisherman's team is very organized and take really good care of your catch. They cut and package according to your instructions - size/weight of each individual vacuum sealed package and thickness of the packaging. Looking forward to seeing the Fisherman's Processing team again in December. Pro-tip - Please tip your processing team when they help you load up hundreds of pounds of fish.

Top drawer operation. Gave them the fish (yellowfin and wahoo), got a text two hours later and picked it up. EZ-PZ and very nice personnel.

The staff will take your order and assign you a table, so do not grab a table without their approval. The seafood all taste fresh. We love the halibut plate with lemon garlic butter. For the fish and chips, the red snapper with panko crust is our family favorite over the beer battered. Tip: we went at 2:30p thinking it is after the lunch rush, but the line was out the door on Sunday. We will stick to 15mins before they open.

I asked her what she wanted and she said, "seafood", so I immediately thought of Blue Water, and we drove right over. We parked at a metered spot nearby & walked in at 5pm. Do note that there is no dedicated parking for Blue Water, so at busy times it may be tricky to find a spot, but we had no trouble today. In the main dining ordering area & on the side patio, there were a few tables that were occupied, but there was no ordering line. All of us wanted shrimp today apparently, so my dad and I both got a shrimp taco with lemon garlic butter & my hungry mom got the shrimp platter also with lemon garlic butter. The platter came with 8 shrimp, jasmine rice, and a lovely, fresh garden salad. The server who took our order and brought it out to us was very helpful & nice. They have a ton of fresh seafood on offer though so if shrimp is not your thing, there will likely be another delightful offering from the sea that will suit your fancy. We sat in the side patio area and it was very pleasant. We enjoyed our experience this evening very much! The tacos were big and had more than 5 shrimp in them, plus cabbage, pico, cheddar cheese & white sauce. One taco was pretty decently sized. If I'd been hungrier, two tacos would've been perfect, but today, I was happy with one taco. Yum! Mom enjoyed her platter. It was beautifully prepared. Blue Water also has a decent soft drink selection and beers and wine, but we all just had their water and it was very refreshing! :) By the time we left at 5:45, a line was forming out the door, so we really came out at a good time. Peace!

There is only one food stall towards the back that sells prepared dishes. Lines gets very long but moves very fast. There also isn't many seating due to the small space. There's a lot very close by but parking is $8 ($5 if you get validation by making a $10 purchase in one of the shops at Seaport Village). A lot was sold out by the time we got there so I would recommend coming early in the morning. They had fishmongers scaling and cleaning fish off the pier and a wide array of fresh fish by the pound (prices were very affordable). When we were there, there was one "cooked foods" booth with clam chowder, ceviche, fish and chips, uni hand rolls, etc. Prices were fair but the line was long so we opted to skip it. Much of the menu was sold out by that time anyway. Food looked decent based on what I saw others eating. Overall it's worth a stop if you're in the area, want to do some shopping at Seaport Village, can find parking, etc. Otherwise I'm not sure it's worth a trip per se.

You walk in expecting Vons. You get Saigon. The produce section alone deserves its own theme music. Herbs, mushrooms, greens you didn't even know had names -- all fresher and cheaper than anything your American supermarket is pretending to offer. It's a straight-up cornucopia. Then you hit the meat counter and suddenly Ralphs and Vons feel like they should issue an apology. Marrow bones, femurs, trotters -- if you're making pho, ramen, chicken stock, or just want to feel like a culinary warlock, this is your playground. You will walk out with ingredients you didn't plan on buying and absolutely no regrets. Every aisle has some kind of delightful chaos. Dried pineapple flowers for homemade bitters for your signature cocktail? Absolutely. Industrial-sized bags of frog meat? Listen... maybe not for me. But if you need it, this is the place. No judgment, only abundance. It's as big as any mainstream grocery store, but stocked with so much cool stuff it feels like a teleportation portal to Southeast Asia. You come for one thing, you leave with twenty, and somehow you're still thrilled about it. Five stars. A must-visit. And if you start making better broth after shopping here, you can thank me later.
