The kids did get wet when the pirate squirted them with his squirt gun. My 4-year-old thought the pirate was real and was actually scared. My 8 year old enjoyed squirting the pirate in the eye with water. They pulled a treasure chest out of the water and were able to each grab some coins. Pulling the treasure chest out of the water was a big hit. The boat itself does not look like a "ship" with any kind of special pirate type decorations. They also had a crab trap in the water and let the kids handle the different types of crabs. On the way back to shore they had a limbo dance contest with the kids, and they all had fun. Overall, worth the money!

After a couple of hours it was clear to everyone that we weren't going to catch anything where we were. The captain said he was going to continue moving around the bay because that was the best place to catch stripers. Obviously not! They only brought lures so we couldn't even try bait. And, the captain said he was only trying for stripers and refused to try lures for any other species although there were clearly no bass in the area. Last year, with a different Plymouth charter company, we started in the bay, caught nothing, so headed out to deeper water and all caught keepers. Last year the captain was actively monitoring his fish-finder to make sure we were fishing in areas where there actually were fish. Stay away from the this outfit as they get your money and then really don't care whether you catch fish or spend the day breathing in diesel fumes from slowly circling the bay.

Plymouth Bay is beautiful, and I felt very comfortable, and we caught so many fish we diverted for a little while to do some site seeing near Duxbury/Plymouth lighthouse.
