We came out at a time when the restaurant was empty. There were only 2 tables and ours. It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered breakfast. The food was cold. In the mist of cooking they began to clean the kitchen. They did not give refills until we asked. Food was not great and neither was the service.

    The mural in the interior

This diner has a beautiful yellow & blue interior, and the scent of fried foods waft to your nose in greeting the moment you walk through the door. The service is also quick, likely quicker than the time it takes for you to decide on what to order. I also really like the mural in the back of the diner. I got a savoury crêpe that featured chicken, vegetables, and avocado. I wouldn't recommend ordering crêpes from here as they are rather thick and taste like pancake batter (the filling was good though). My bae got a bacon egg & cheese on a hoagie type roll and after having a bite I think I just ordered the wrong thing. We also split a refreshing orange juice.

Short stack pancakes (3): $5, toppings are extra Sausage (comes with 4, but i already had 2): $3.50 Coffee: $2.50 vs $4 across the street

I called Green Eggs Café on a Saturday morning to check on the wait times and was so happy to hear there was barely a wait. My friend and I rushed over and were bursting with excitement to see all these empty tables around us, when we were reminded of their stupid cash-only policy. Unfortunately, neither of us carried cash or had our debit cards, so we had to leave with our hungry bellies. As we walked out, we noticed Fishtown Diner across the street and walked right in. Thankfully, there wasn't a wait and we were seated immediately. As I browsed the menu, I can't believe my eyes. Everything was so cheap. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich, and I ordered a short stack of pancakes, a coffee (Lavazza), and a side of turkey sausage. The food was decent - what you would expect from a diner, and the portions were huge, but best of all, the whole bill came out to be $21. And they take credit card!!! Never would I have known about this gem if we didn't bring cash for Green Eggs Café. I wouldn't mind coming back here again for breakfast food - which is served all day by the way!

I have been craving a gyro and saw that the diner had it on there big menu. Unfortunately, we weren't able to eat and enjoy our meal in the diner but it was still good by the time I was able to eat it. There was too much Tzatziki sauce for my liking but I was able to get the excess out my gyro. It was pretty empty when we showed up but people started coming in after some time. The staff were kind and friendly towards us and very understanding after abruptly having to change our order to go right as it was about to be plated. And she gave us fresh drinks to go without having to ask. Staff was masked up and hand sanitizer was in the front. Went to use the bathroom and had my stomach turned upside down. Whomever used the toilet, missed and left the evidence all on the back of the toilet. IT WAS GROSS

Incredibly rude, unprofessional staff. Poor service. Will never visit here again. It is actually hard to believe how poor the service is.

Food is good but expensive. Service is okay. Ambience is fine. Do not recommend unless you want to pay for it.

He gave suggestions when asked, make sure to check on us, and make the experience even better. Our whole table got the restaurant version of an espresso martini and holy cow. It was incredible. Almost everybody at the table got seconds. The site also gave us champagne in celebration, which was super tasty and super nice The food was incredible. Holy cow incredible. I vegetarian appreciated that they are allowed the menu to reflect an item without meat and then a second That includes it. Make sure if you order the charcuterie board do you understand charcuterie does not have cheese The avocado toast, incredible. I love alfalfa sprouts with my eggs, it was incredibly tasty, and the fries were superb. I don't frequent olde city often, but I would be happy to go out of my way to eat here the next time I'm in the city

We started with a seafood tower and everything tasted fresh, delicate, and bursting with natural flavor. We also had the meat and cheese charcuterie which was artfully arranged and delicious. Our cocktails were crafted with care and they were perfect. We all enjoyed our entrees immensely but dessert is a must save room option-The spice cake was delicious and the creme brûlée is one of the best I've ever had! Our server Max was wonderful- he checked on us often and made sure that we had everything we needed. It really added to the dining experience to have such excellent service- The manager also came to the table and took our drink orders and was visible throughout our dinner. We all felt like very important guests adding to excellence of our experience. Every detail was handled with grace and intention. We had such an amazing dining experience, we'll be back without question.

With the help of Yelp, we found this place. First off, the building that houses National Mechanics is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and for good reason. The pub/restaurant occupies the old Mechanics National Bank, a majestic Greek Revival building, built in 1836. Inside the restaurant, the surroundings contrasted greatly with the outside. The large, primarily wooden interior has the feel of a vintage pub. It is equally as beautiful as the front. The service at National Mechanics was great. Though the staff was clearly running shorthanded, every employee we came into contact with served us with a smile and couldn't be friendlier. The food, at least on that day, was mediocre at best, unfortunately. While the menu was filled with all sorts of tempting dishes that already made us thinking of future visits, we opted for the Mexican Burger and the Ribeye Cheesesteak, two twists on old pub standbys. Sadly, we were both disappointed in our meals. We did start off on a bright spot, food-wise. My friend and I opted to share the Batter-Fried Pickled Green Beans, which were fabulous! Too bad the good food ended there... The description of the Mexican Burger sounded amazing, with avocado, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños, Monterrey Jack cheese, and chipotle mayo. My friend said it was kind of bland and it was quite greasy. My ribeye cheesesteak did not match well with its "Amoroso" roll and the steak itself was dry. In the end, we were both disappointed in our choice in a lunch spot. Perhaps it was the large crowd of diners and little staff that made it all come out a little...off. In the end, I'd try National Mechanics again if I were in the area, as the atmosphere and service made it a cool spot to dine in. Hopefully the food will be better next time.

Unlike others, we felt the portions were not too small. Overall a very respectable dinner showing from Almanac. I kind of regret ordering a pre fixed cocktail because his Omakase was so on point to what he asked for and was delicious. I love rhubarb and Gin is my usual spirt of choice, so I didn't want to pass up the Hanamachi Rikki, but while I found the tart rhubarb refreshing, it fell flat when placed next to the Omakase. While I enjoyed the music choices, he did not and it was also INCREDIBLY dark/moody which isn't our preference, but makes sense for the intimate vibe they are clearly going for.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since they are located right about Ogawa (also amazing)! We tried the omakase cocktail, which was really fun and creative. Although if I'm paying $25 for a drink, I do expect a bit more of a presentation... The scallop crispy rice was absolutely a favorite, we had to order two! The toro was also a standout, although how can you go wrong with toro, uni, and caviar? The wagyu dog itself was great, but the roll it was on was dry. In my opinion, the bread makes or breaks a sandwich, so points off for that one. The ambiance was cozy, if a little dark at times. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive and gave us good recommendations on what to order. I will absolutely be back for the crispy rice alone!
